Jason, to be frank, was terrified. This was the most important thing he’d ever done in his life- what if he fucked it up? They were two, young, impressionable kids; who in their right mind would trust him with that? Him, Jason Louis. When he had been at Hogwarts he had seduced a girl for money. Sure, he’d grown up a lot since the start of his seventh year. But he still struggled knowing the real difference between right and wrong; how was he supposed to teach it to two kids?
Jason looked at the little girl before her. She was so small, so small and delicate, and looking at her, he could see the similarities between them. He also wanted to hold her in his arms and protect her from the boys of the world. Because she was going to be beautiful in a few years, Jason was going to be fighting off the boys with a stick. Was it acceptable for older brothers to lock their sixteen year old little sisters in a tower until the age of thirty? Because Jason knew he was going to be fighting this reaction all through out the kid’s teenage years.
She was just so delicate and breakable, sucking on the milkshake that he had put down in front of her. She was just a baby, and Jason was about to tell her that her whole world had been turned upside down. Jason had closed the bar for the day, set up an alleyway for people to get into Diagon Alley from the street; only visible to witches and wizards, of course. She looked so curious. God, this was going to be hard. How was he supposed to tell her that her Mum was dead and gone and that she and her twin were his siblings. And that they were going to have to live with him until they turned seventeen because their Dad was a deadbeat?
Jason took a seat opposite her. “How you doing, kiddo?” He asked her, wanting to make sure she was actually comfortable before he started this. Jason took a deep breath. “There are some things that I need to talk to you about; and I know that it’s a bit strange that I need to tell you anything.” Jason was feeling out of his depth. Oh god. “But yes, I need to talk to you about a few things, that you to know. Is that ok?”
