Alex sat in his room, he had a diamond in his hand, it was massive and he was proud that he had acquired it. It had taken a lot of skill. He was meant to be giving it to a man who was going to pay him nicely but he wasn't sure he wanted to. He had never been one for shiny rocks but he liked this diamond. He could imagine one day giving it to a woman and having them fall at his feet for it. He had to think what he wanted more. It was a ridiculously large sum of money but he didn't exactly have a problem with money. It was a hard life, debating whether to keep the diamond or take the money.
He was distracted when he heard the sound of someone apparating in. He wondered if one of his siblings had brought home a partner for the night. He had debated going out but had thought better of it. He wanted his rest and couldn't be bothered finding someone up to his standards. He didn't dare come home with someone less because his siblings would have him on about it. So instead he chose to relax. He lay down on his bed, still holding the diamond and shut his eyes though his door then burst open.
His eyes snapped open and he looked to see who it was, ready to attack if necessary but it was only Linny. He sighed and lay back down, closing his eyes, not bothering to hide the large diamond in his hands.
"What." He demanded.

Linny wasn’t sure whether to be livid, flattered or what. He was an ass. He really had been a complete ass, that stupid little creature hunter, he was sexy. Really, fucking sexy. She hadn’t slept with him though. Partially because she wanted to make him work for anything he was going to get from her. And partially because she was actually really shaken up. She hadn’t ever felt so helpless. Back when she was at Hogwarts, when something similar had happened, well at least she had saved herself.
In this situation she hadn’t. She felt like some stupid little damsel from one of the fairytales that her mother never read her when she was a little girl. After she stormed away from the boy/man/hunter thing, she walked to the apperation point and got herself home. Usually she didn’t apperate straight into the house. It was loud and late at night, but she couldn’t be bothered anymore. She was tired, shaken up, covered in vampire blood and generally wanted to bitch about this boy/have a cuddle from her brother.
Though she wasn’t sure she’d get one. He was going to be awake, she knew it. Linny slipped off her ridiculously high heels and wandered the hall to her brothers room. She considered for a moment that this was probably the most sober she had returned home after a night out in years. It was an odd feeling. And all it took was a vampire attack.
She pushed open Alex’s door with a little more strength than was needed, walked into the room and threw herself on the bed beside her brother. He was going to grumble about it but she didn’t care. She did wonder what the fuck he was doing with some giant crystal, but decided that whatever kinky shit he was into was his own business… and also knew it was probably work related. Linny buried her head in her brothers pillow. “I got attacked by a vampire tonight,” She told him, her voice quite heavily muffled by the pillow.

Alex stared at his sister who had burst in to his room. It bugged him that she had done that without knocking. What if he had had someone over or was doing something he didn't want her to see? Of course it would have been his fault for not locking the door as well. It annoyed him more when she threw herself on his bed. She hadn't done something like that in a long time and he let out an annoyed grunt, not moving from his spot to give her room. She could take the small amount there was, it was his bed after all. He was still holding the diamond though he didn't want to just sit here holding it while she lay next to him.
Then she said something which made his muscles tense. He sat there silently, looking her over, especially her neck. He did not want to have to deal with a vampire for a sister. Their parents would have a fit. When he was sure he could see nothing he jumped over her and stood, not really comfortable sitting when anger stirred in him. He had never been one for vampire hunting but it could become a new hobby of his.
"And how did you escape?" He asked, wondering how she had managed to kill the beast if he had attacked her. She wasn't exactly skilled like he was. She preferred to go to parties or be in gossip columns rather than doing anything of use. He highly doubted she could have over thrown and killed a creature of the night.

Linny knew that her brother would be pretty pissed at her complete violation of his privacy. It was a thing in the house, you didn’t just barge into other people’s rooms. You were polite and waited to be invited in. Or knocked first then ignored the ‘go away’ you got in return. Generally if someone really didn’t want people in they’d lock the door…not that that would often stop Linny- she could just use her magic to unlock it. As you do.
She felt her brother tense when she mentioned the vampire attack. She was probably getting blood on his sheets just now, but she didn’t really care. She knew that he was probably more worried about her being turned than anything else about the attack. She hadn’t been so it was all fine, but she knew that was why he had quickly gotten up. She didn’t like the feeling of him standing over her. She had on her tough girl act. She had had that act on around her family for as long as she could remember. She wasn’t the weak one. She didn’t even get upset over the almost rape incident and none of them thought it affected her at all. She knew they didn’t know. And it suited her just fine. She didn’t want their sympathy or their pity.
When Alex asked how she escaped Linny groaned and rolled over. “Some stupid asswipe hunter helped me. Then pissed me off by acting like I was some piece of meat. I lost it. I completely lost it, even my control over my powers. My hair and eyes got fucked up- he thought I was a demon. The asshole had me up against the wall with a knife against my throat.” She pointed to the faint line where she had been cut by his blade. She had already healed it, of course, but the scar would take a day or two to heal.
