Jacob was so sore. He didn't understand how it was possible gain so much muscle and increase his strength and endurance yet still be so sore after such a work out. It was insane how Scarlett was training him. He had no idea if he was just being a pussy or if she was pushing him further than others were pushed. He wasn't going to complain thought. On complaint and she would probably double it next time and it was likely he'd die. He got changed out of his sweaty gear and showered in the work showers before getting dressed and finally leaving home.
When he walked through his door he was more like a zombie than a human. He threw his key on the bench and dumped his bag on the ground, not bothering to put his stuff in the washing or even make food. He just wanted to die. He walked to his room before continuing and walking to Vita's room. Vita was his best friend and had been for many years now. She was the only one to endure with him through his dark phase. She had been a pain in the ass but had stuck to him like glue and he was thankful for that. Now they lived together.
He walked in, seeing that she was indeed in there. He just walked to her bed and flopped down face first, making a groaning noise before moving to get comfortable. Her bed felt better than anything he'd ever felt in his life. It felt so good that he climbed in under the covers, his eyes shut the whole time and without saying anything. He had done it too many times ti count now. He opened his eyes after a while.
"I want to die." Was all he said. No hello because really, what best friends greeted each other? He shut his eyes again, knowing that although he was sore, he wasn't actually tired and there was no way he would get to sleep. He was just enjoying the soft heaven he was currently wrapped up in. He lifted on edge of the cover, offering the space next to him to her if she wanted to take it. "There is no way I'm cooking tonight." He muttered.

Vita wasn’t long up. She worked until ridiculously late, or as others would see it- early, hours of the day. Then there had been a party after work, so she had went for a few drinks. She hadn’t arrived home until her flatmate, and best friend of too many years; Jacob, had been leaving for work. She slept for the majority of the day before dragging her lazy ass out of bed for a shower. She didn’t have to work tonight, so she had plans of demanding that Jacob go out with her. Or at least that he would crack open a bottle of wine with dinner and watch a film with her.
It might sound coupley to an outsider. But Jacob was her best friend, it wouldn’t be strange if he was a girl. So Vee just thought that people who couldn’t see that were narrow minded. She was sitting at her desk, on her laptop. The upside of having her Mum raise her in a semi-muggle environment was the internet and TV. And lolcats. She must admit, she was partial to lolcats. She was surfing the net when she heard the door to the flat fling open. She grinned, but didn’t make any move to get up.
“Five, four, three, two, one.” She muttered to herself. On her count Jacob stumbled through her bedroom door and threw himself on her bed. She chuckled, not even slightly surprised. She rolled her eyes at his, clearly grumpy, attitude and was grateful she had gone to the trouble of making her mums famous lasagne the night before. It was settling in the fridge, waiting to go in the oven for the two of them. But Vita decided it would be fun to tease Jake, just for a bit. “Hi, Vee, how was your day? Oh, my day was great, Jacob, and from what I can see you had a great day too.” She stood up and threw herself on the bed next to him. It was barely even a step from the desk to the bed. Via ruffled her best friends hair. “I’ve got Mamma’s Price’s famous lasagne in the fridge. Bottle of wine and some cheesy sitcom on the telly?” She asked giving him a smile.
They’d been best friends for a long time. Jacob had been the only person to stand by Via when a boy messed her around, took her virginity and made her look like a slut to the whole school. So naturally she stood by him in his bad years. She partied with him, stayed sober for him in the really bad times, even took him to Mungo’s once- not that he thanked her for it. Now that he was back on track their relationship was better than ever. It was rare that people could say that they had a friend who stuck with them through thick and thin. But that was what she and Jacob had.

Jacob lay on the bed and merely pulled the finger as Vita went on to mock him for not saying hello. She hadn't said hello yet either. Of course he wasn't bothered enough to say that. He didn't even open his eyes. It wasn't worth it. He was way too exhausted. He wished he could just sleep but he knew he'd be lying there for a long time before sleep took over him. Then she felt the bed move and let out a groan as she collided with his body. Why did she have to be so rough. Of course she wasn't, he was just being a baby. He had a right though after what he'd had to do during the day
He let his arm fall and wrap around her, snuggling in to her as he comforted himself in his best friend. She had been with him for six years now, through everything. They had both been through a lot of shit and it seemed that it had never torn them apart so that was good. They had lived together ever since Hogwarts finished and it worked. She hadn't met Erin though which he was sure was a good thing. He couldn't see the two girls getting along. He might have been wrong but it just didn't work in his mind. So he went to Erin's most the time and only brought her over when Vita was at work.
When she ruffled his hair he lent down and blew on her skin, grinning before pushing her away and rolling himself in the duvet. That was until she spoke about what was for dinner and his eyes flashed open. He fucking loved her mum's cooking! He got on well with her mum, she was amazing and it seemed she trusted Jacob to look after her daughter. He wasn't sure what would have happened about them moving in together otherwise. She was rather protective of her baby girl.
"Fuck yes. I love your mum and her food. She's the only reason I let you live here." He teased before throwing the duvet over her again. "Wine and a movie it is. You're turning me in to a woman I swear, it's ridiculous. Now get your ass out of bed and make me food woman!" He said with a grin.

Vita loved the relationship that she had with her flatmate. She was closer to him than anyone else in her life, she knew him long before he became the cocky little shit he was now. But then he knew her long before she put her slut face on and started sleeping around. They knew each other for real. She knew the real Jacob and he knew the real Via. It helped that he had helped her escape the confines of her mothers house when he left Hogwarts.
Her Mum adored Jacob, thought he was a perfect little gentleman. Had it in her head that they were going to end up together. Vita’s mum was adorable, deluded, but adorable. Vita chuckled at the groan that came from Jake when she flopped on top of him. She was not that heavy, he could stop being such a baby. She snuggled against him when he wrapped an arm around her. This was what people didn’t get. This level of comfort around each other. It was what made there friendship awesome and probably a little different at the same time.
Via giggled when Jacob blew on her skin, it tickled and she was possibly the tickliest person ever. Stupid best friend, knowing these things, she would get him back…someday. Vita pouted and punched the boy on his arm when he claimed that he only let her move in for her mums cooking. “Hey, I cooked this all by myself! Just because it’s my mums recipe doesn’t mean that she gets all the credit! Also, get out of my duvet. You’re all gross and boy-y”
She chuckled when the duvet landed over her, Jacob claiming that she was turning him into a woman. He was right, a chickflick, wine, and dinner. They practically had the female equivalent of a bromance going on. She rolled her eyes when he yelled at her to go make him dinner. “Shut it, McRae!” She said, hauling ass out of bed. She wandered through to the kitchen, stuck the food in the oven and made her way back to bed. All the while her lazy ass of a friend lounged in her bed. Bloody boys. “Dinner is on, your majesty.” She told him, flopping down onto her bed and pulling the covers off of him.

Jacob smirked as Vita laughed, knowing her weakness was tickling. He then groaned and rolled away as she punched him. It would never have hurt before but when his muscles were aching as badly as they were, it was painful. He shot her a dirty look though he wasn't actually angry. He was more grumpy than anything and she knew that he got like this when he was sore. Mainly because he refused to take a potion for it. He felt like he deserved the pain really for what he had done and also because it made him feel like he'd accomplished something. It didn't stop him being grumpy.
He chuckled when she got all defensive. He loved teasing her about things like that. No matter how many times he did it, she would always take the bait. It was as if she didn't realise he knew she'd cooked it, she cooked practically every meal in the house. His idea of a meal was toast, sometimes with butter on it. He could never be bothered with a proper meal. If it was a special occasion it was takeaways. "You made it? Oh shit. I was all excited." He teased before rolling his eyes at her comment.
He grinned as she told him to shut it and walked out. He grabbed the duvet immediately and once again burrowed in it. He shut his eyes and just let his body relax. If he stayed perfectly still for a few moments the pain went away and he was in a heaven of comfort. he could vaguely hear noises in the kitchen and a small smile graced his lips as Vita started cooking. He really couldn't imagine life without her. She had been there through everything. She was, other than her brother and parents, the only person he still talked to that knew what he had been like. The nerdy geek he was on the inside before he turned in to this.
He heard footsteps and his grin grew slightly before he chuckled at her words. She was so sarcastic but he knew she loved him. They were practically related. She was the one girl he'd not slept with. he'd made out with her once but he had been off his face and afterwards he'd grovelled at her feet for it. The one thing he liked about their friendship was that there were no hidden feelings. She didn't secretly love him, like he didn't secretly love her. They were best friends and that was that. That was what most people didn't understand, was that it was possible for them to be like this without hiding some long lost love.
He whined when she took the duvet and he opened his eyes and crawled over, throwing himself over her and sighing happily and the soft duvet between them, nestling in and getting comfortable. "You're awfully bold for a maid, getting in my bed. It's like the start of a bad porno." He teased before pushing himself off her and standing, stretching which while hurt, felt so good at the same time. "I'm going to put on my wine and movie clothes." He let her know which consisted of fat pants and that was about it. He trudged out the room and took off all his clothing, bar his briefs and pulled on fat pants.
He never bothered with a shirt, it got too hot with Vita crawling all over him. She was a sap or afraid and it seemed she had deemed it his job to be her pillow. He walked out and went to the lounge and kitchen, falling on to the couch and pulling the blanket they always kept there over him. "Alright, I'm ready."
