Nic was bored. He was lazing around the mansion, trying to avoid anyone who would annoy him. He had seen the papers, his face all over it. At first it had been funny but now he was worried about next time he would see Quinn. She would see, she would see how crazy and dark he looked as he held the new Minister captive and pointed his wand at the now dead Minister. He had looked crazed. He had looked like a true Death eater. And he was sure Quinn would hate him for it. She knew who he was and what he did but she'd never seen it before. It was a more of a don't mention it, doesn't happen kind of thing.
He pulled himself up off hid bed and put on robes, knowing he couldn't do out in just track pants and a singlet like he wanted to. Even though he wasn't planning on going anywhere extremely public. He had a public image to keep up. He grabbed his wand and looked round his room. He still couldn't really believe he was living back at the mansion. He had never imagined he would come back. He spun on the spot and when he opened his eyes again he was outside Slug and Jiggers. He grinned as he stepped inside. Finally he'd have someone to annoy.
"Honey I'm home!" He called out with a smirk. he walked to the counter and slid over, glad that the store was empty. He then walked out back to the room where potions were made. He was surprised to see many cauldrons filled with different colours, all bubbling and hissing away as multiple potions were being made. This room was never usually this busy. The smell was also terrible. He muttered a spell to make it undetectable before walking up behind the blonde who had her back to him. When he got behind her he leaned up to her ear and whispered, "boo."

Anastasia was busy. Not even just a little busy but a ‘Liam is crazy if he thinks that I can get all this done in time’ busy. She had around six potions all simmering away in her lab. She was on a tight schedule and if she fucked up with one then they were all going to be ruined. That wasn’t something that she could risk. It was quite ridiculous. But their plan was all coming together, the ‘new dark lord’ was in power. She and Nic had significantly more power these days, of course she wasn’t nearly on par with Nic’s power. But it felt good knowing that she was the highest ranking female.
She could crucio most of them if they pissed her off too much. She enjoyed the power, she had never been a good little girl, she had never been one to play with her dolls and wear pretty dresses and let mother dearest do her hair. She preferred to climb trees, which inevitably ended in her ripping whichever expensive dress her mother had put on her, attempting to cover up the fact that she was blatantly a bastard child. Her father didn’t want to be a part of her life, that was just fine by her. She would happily kill him if she crossed him in battle.
In the back of her mind Anastasia heard Nic come in to the shop, but she was too caught up in her potions to call to him. She added leaves to one potion before stirring another counter clockwise four times. She was on top of this, she really was. When she felt Nic’s breath on her neck then heard his whisper she didn’t falter. “Nic, if you fuck these potions up for me I will crucio your ass, second in command or not I have been working on this lot for six hours solid.” She added the last ingredients to her potions and then let out a breath. They were done. Thank god. They just needed to simmer for various times and then she was done.
She looked a mess, she couldn’t deny that, her hair was sticking out in places, she had various subtances on her cheek and clothes. She was quite the stereotype of a potion master. “So, Nicky dear, what can I do for you today?” She asked, turning to him with a smirk.

Nic chuckled as Ana threatened him, not even jumping at his closeness. He reached up and pinched her sides but it seemed she was already done. He looked around at all the potions and he had to wonder what she was doing. This was a crazy amount of work to be doing. None of them looked particularly easy. He stepped back and lent against one of the many counters in the room. He looked down at a red potion which bubbled violently. It looked like it was going to over flow multiple times but it never did.
Ana then spoke to him, no threats in her sentences and he gave her his smirk. It was true that at the beginning the two hadn't gotten along. In fact he had near hated her because she just rubbed him the wrong way. Then the two spent more time together, not by choice, and it seemed that they had a lot more common than they thought. They were far better company for each other than any of the other idiots were so they stuck together, spending more and more time together. Forming a rather unusual friendship.
"I am bored and I have decided you're my best bet at entertainment. I mean, if I happened to knock over one of these potions, it would be very, very entertaining." He teased, wobbling the counter slightly. He would never do it of course. But that didn't mean he couldn't have his fun.

Ana couldn’t keep the smirk off her face, even when she was attempting to glare at Nic for pinching her sides. The two of them were getting on surprisingly well. It worked for her, if she was on the right side of the ‘front man’ then she could get what she wanted, within reason that was. But if she felt like getting someone killed off, the chances were that Nic would let her do it. If her reasoning was sound enough. They needed to make it look like that had a real reason, after all.
She felt relieved that her work was mostly done. She had been stressed, ridiculously so. She had been working on some of the more complex potions for weeks. She even had some felix felicius in there. It was the hardest potion in the world to make. She was up for the challenge though, she was good at it. It could win them the war, her potions skills, she was aware of that. She also knew that that was the reason why they kept her around. Ana rolled her eyes when Nic claimed that she was his best form of entertainment. She knew that he did enjoy teasing her. She enjoyed teasing him just as much.
There were points of his life that she wouldn’t bring up, that were just against the rules, such as his relationship with a certain little redhead wench, Ana didn’t know what had gone down there, but she did know that the kid was good through and through. She was clearly going to support the light. She figured that that hurt Nic. He had gotten the kid out of the pureblood fold. Ana remembered her as a little girl, they had attended the same parties.
“Oh Nicky, I know you’re not stupid enough to do that. First off, because that potion will burn your skin off at the stage its at. Also because you’d have to feel my wrath afterwards. And you know exactly what I can do to you lesser humans.” Ana smirked and held out her hand, wandlessly summoning her wand, just in case she needed to put this oaf in his place. They had a strange relationship. Almost like bickering siblings.

Nic grinned at Ana as she spoke to him. It was funny how she treated him so condescendingly. It was almost as if she really believed she could use magic on him if she wanted to. If she did she would be in a lot of trouble. Even if Nic had encouraged her. Of course he would never bring it to that point. It was harmless bickering. He merely raised an eyebrow when she summoned her wand. She would never use it. Not on purpose. He looked at the red mixture and sighed.
"Another day it will have to be when I come in a destroy your workshop." He said as if he was sad he couldn't do it today. "I guess that means you'll have to find another way to amuse me." He said. "Oh and call me a lesser human again and I'll have to take action." He warned with a wink.
He stood straight as he heard the doorbell ring, letting them know someone had entered the shop. He grinned, a customer. That could be fun. Since they were in Knockturn Alley, it wasn't very likely that it would be some innocent girl in the store, especially after recent events. He walked through before Ana could stop him and stood behind the counter smirking, waiting for the customer to see his face and recognise him.

Ana smirked when Nic left the cauldron alone. She knew that she couldn’t actually do anything to him. As much as they bickered and bantered, he was still higher ranked that she was, and if she wasn’t killed for raising her wand to him she would certainly be beaten and battered. Crucio-ed to insanity maybe. Regardless she wouldn’t touch the boy, she knew better than to do that.
Ana rolled her eyes when he said that he would have to destroy her potions lab another day, the level of self restraint she would have to have not to avada him on the spot if he did….well she probably wouldn’t have it. But he didn’t need to know that. She knew he wouldn’t actually destroy her work, she did a lot of important things for the dark side. She was a huge asset to them, just like she always said she would be. She was quite smug about it.
Ana rolled her eyes at Nic’s warning, she knew that he wasn’t kidding, but she refused to be afraid of him. In order to fear someone you had to have something to lose, and Ana didn’t. She didn’t fear death, she didn’t feat them hurting her family, she didn’t fear pain, she didn’t have anything they could do to her. It was good; for her anyway.
She heard someone enter the shop, they were closed, she frowned and looked herself over. With a few quick spells her clothes were once again pristine and she didn’t have a hair out of place, she made her way up, Nic following her, she couldn’t help but be a little annoyed, she didn’t want him scaring away her customers. “Don’t scare anyone.” She said, standing behind the till. Ana smiled at the customer, a regular. He was a creepy old man, nothing she couldn’t handle, but something that would have lesser women hiding behind a man. He was very much on the dark side. He’d probably love seeing Nic.
“Hello Mr Compton, how are you today?” She asked, watching his eyes go wide at Nic.
“I’m doing well, my dear. I see that you have a fancy man here. You’ve done very well for yourself, if I do say so myself.”
Ana had a look of polite indifference on her face. “You may not say so, I think it would be more proper if you remember your manners when it comes to other people’s personal affairs.” She told him, her voice cold. “What can I do for you today?”
