It had been awhile since Harry had a day off. Since the death of Kingsley, he had been working overtime. He was trying to make sure that Dominic knew exactly what he was doing and that the Ministry was under strict protection from his men. All in all, it exhausted the man. It didn't help that he was still mourning over the loss of his friend, Kingsley had been there for Harry whenever he needed him. And finally, when he needed Harry, Harry had failed him. It was an understatement to say that he was kicking himself, of course, he couldn't hear the end of it from his soon-to-be-ex-wife either. Even now she still needed to find a way to make his life miserable.
He needed to relax for awhile. To unwind. Ginny had the kids for the weekend and Harry wanted some quality time with his godson. He had gotten word from Andromeda that Teddy had found himself a girl, and it interested Harry to say the least. From the words of his grandmother, Teddy was smitten with the girl.
Pulling a jacket over his clothes, he Apperated on the spot to arrive at Teddy's home. He was just in time to see a young girl peck his godson on the lips before bouncing off and Apperating away into thin air. He had a grin on his face as he threw his arm around Teddy, "Redheads. Almost always as fiery as their hair. Must be in the blood." He teased the younger boy, "How are you, kid? Sorry I haven't gotten over in awhile, things have been...crazy at the Ministry lately."

Teddy was so stoked, his Godfather Harry Potter was coming over for the day and the young Metamorphus could not wait. He was practically bouncing in his shoes, he was that excited. It wasn't often these days that Teddy got time to spend with Harry, what with his job and his famous titles. Teddy knew that even the Potter kids were spending less and less time with their father who was, even now, still as famous as the day he had been a baby who had killed Voldermort the first time around. Teddy was proud to have Harry as a Godfather, the man had always stood up for him and had taught him to read and write and even bought him his first broom in hopes for a Quidditch player.
Raven had, been over for the night (not like that people), having spent dinner with her and his grandma. They had spent the night in different rooms, although they had spent a majority of the day lazing about on the hill behind the house watching the clouds and making out. Sadly though, Raven had to go home to spend time with her mother and that stupid twin of hers, Layne Chambre. No matter if their truce was still there, Teddy and Layne were forever at each other's throats.
Just as he was about to shake himself from the thoughts of his last meeting with Layne an arm was around him as his current turquoise eyes widened in surprise. "Harry!" Teddy said with a laugh as he commented on their particular taste in red heads, "Raven's amazing, I'll have to introduce you to her next time, Lord knows I talk about you enough." Teddy said in reply, winking to his Godfather. Teddy had grown up with Harry there in his life, he'd even go as far as saying he looked to him as a father.
"I'm good, I heard about Kingsley, he was a good man," Teddy said solemnly, he knew his father was good friends with the elderly man who had been killed by the Dark Lord. "So how are the kids? I've seen Albie and James around, but how's Lily? And Ginny?" Teddy asked, totally oblivious to what was going on, having not heard or spoken to Harry in a little while.

When Teddy's eyes widened in surprise, Harry's heart swelled. He always loved to see the excitement his godson had every time he came around. Teddy was almost like another son to Harry, the entire life of the young man Harry had tried to help Andromeda with raising him. When Teddy spoke about his girlfriend, he could only chuckle again. He remembered what that felt like, to be so completely smitten with someone. "Sounds like a plan. I'd love to meet the girl that's got you wrapped around her finger," he winked.
Harry's heart seemed to grow heavy as their conversation took a turn to the dark. A frown marred his face and he looked at the ground, "He was a great man. I'm just sorry I couldn't save him. There are just so many things I could have done to protect him, and I didn't. And now..." He closed his eyes and let out a sigh. He met Teddy's gaze again and his eyes were exhausted. Both physically and emotionally. "Lily's doing great, little ball of energy. She runs about the backyard constantly, I've been trying to teach her Quidditch but she's just not having it. Quite the surprise when her parents both played," he chuckled.
Then Teddy asked about Ginny and he shifted, trying to wonder how to best word it. It almost felt as though he were telling his children all over again. "Ginny and I...we're getting a divorce. It's quite messy and this point and I'm just trying to keep the kids out of the worst of it."

Teddy was stoked that Harry was over to visit, it had been far too long since he had seen him last. Even though Teddy had to put up with both James and Albus at school with him it was still fun to hang out with his Godfather. "She doesn't have me wrapped around her finger!" Teddy exclaimed indignantly, although his face was smiling bright. So it might just be a little bit true...
Teddy let a hand rest on Harry's shoulder in comfort as their conversation took a turn as their voices grew soft and solemn. "We know, there are lots of things we could have done to make things different..." Teddy replied softly, it was a sad day for their friends and family who had known the elderly Minister. He was surprised though they had already gotten a new minister, some young jumped up shit who was hardly out of his twenties. How did they expect him to have the same grace and poise and leadership skills as Kingsley? Teddy had no idea what the Ministry was thinking these days.
"Ah, surprising indeed! I'll have her playing in no time, you know how she loves me," the young metamorphagus said with a wink, his eyes alight with mirth. Oh he'd definitely be able to teach Lily his tricks, some of which were more than a little dangerous but it's all the more fun that way. "She'll be in good hands."
Teddy was sure the surprise was reflected on his face clearly at the news. He hadn't seen that one coming. "Oh, really? Wow I never thought it was that rough. I mean, I know you two used to fight and all..." Teddy frowned but clapped Harry on the back again, they were practically the same height, Teddy just a few inches taller. "I hope you're alright, you know I'll always be on your side Harry. Always." He looked out at the garden below and he soon realised they were still standing around, "come inside! I'll make you a drink. Tea, coffee, something a little stronger perhaps?" He winked again.
