Chasity had been working at The Fiery Dragon Hotel for the past month, doing odd jobs like cleaning and making beds in rooms, anything that could be done she always volunteered to complete. She felt the need to work extra hard since she was living in the hotel as well, something which she had realised only a few of the staff did, and even so they were ones who had actual jobs like cooking or dealing with customers. Chasity just did as she was asked, and she did her job well, used to looking after the house as her grandfather was far too old to be doing too much strenuous work.
Pushing the trolley filled with dirty sheets, it was well past midnight and Chase had just finished up on the last room which had just been vacated that afternoon, the couple staying there had left the room in a right state. Having cleaned it to tip top shape, making sure that everything was back in it's rightful place, Chase made her way for the laundry room downstairs, the basket on her trolley needing to be emptied into the dirty sheets pile to be cleaned.
Standing before the lifts she waited for it to arrive at her floor, maneuvering the trolly in and pressing the button for the basement, standing quietly as the music in the box kept the silence from being overwhelming. Once the doors slid open she moved out, making her way to the back of the basement where the large containers for the washing were located. Taking armfuls of the sheets, she threw them in, working till her trolley was empty again.
Dusting off her hands and wiping her brow free of sweat, Chase smiled to herself, mentally applauding her hard work for the day. At the sound of someone behind her she jumped, turning around quickly, nervousness creeping in until she saw who it was and sighed. "Oh hello Mister Oliver, you scared me for a second there," she said softly, her voice echoing out into the empty basement, her giggles which followed seemingly louder than what she had thought, making her clamp her hand over her mouth in embarrassment. "Thanks for the hard work today."

Chase had been in Oliver's hotel a month. One whole month of her just walking around, not remembering him. It was feat for Oliver to keep Carver away from him. Most of the staff had been told about the situation to make sure nothing went wrong and they'd all been really helpful. They had stopped any disaster happening though there had been a few close calls. Oliver however was slowly going out of his mind. She was so close to him yet he could do nothing but play the innocent friend. They had become close and he could tell she was under the surface. He had known her for a long time of course, so it was obvious she was the same person, just without the memory of him or her child which was strange.
She still thought she was a virgin! Which of course was hilarious since in Hogwarts they had got up to a lot. They were worse than Rose and her boyfriends if only because Rose was single a lot while they were always together. Yet she thought she was innocent. It was hilarious. He made every opportunity to talk to her, to do subtle things or talk about things which could trigger her memory but it never did. It was midnight and the restaurant had just closed and all the guests were either out or in bed. He decided to do a rounds before heading to bed.
He made his way through the offices, the reception area and staff room, saying goodbye or goodnight to the few remaining staff before going down to the basement. He walked in to see Chase. Of course she would be there. He smiled at her fear, she was still so nervous around here. Oliver made sure this was a safe environment, she shouldn't be afraid. "No need to be afraid in here though I suppose it is a dark basement." He chuckled as he looked around, checking everything was in order and sheets washed and dried themselves.
"Don't thank me, you're the one doing an amazing job. If you were wanting a more substantial job, such as a waitress than I'm sure we could arrange that. Or a cleaner if you wanted though I'm sure a waitress is more preferable. If you want to come to the restaurant we could discuss it?" He said. He always put people through a small trail period like Chase, he made sure not to treat her differently except for the fact she was in the other penthouse.

Chase didn't really like the basement, especially at night. Maybe it was childish for her to think so, but it reminded her as a child of the darkness which had enveloped her as a child, the night her father had been murdered before her eyes. She shivered at the memory, the rage which she had felt then was sealed within the knife wound across her side, the silvery mark being the permanent reminder of the evil in the world, but also a note to remember that people are always worth being forgiven, no matter their sins.
"Yes...well call me silly for finding it a little eerie," she said softly, another giggle coming from her lips. She really felt like a child around Oliver, maybe because he was so kind to her, and her superior within the hotel even though they were the same age. It was strange, but Oliver Popplewell had Chase always feel embarrassed or feeling inadequate. She never felt good enough with him around, a need to try and prove herself to him. It was why she tried so hard, that and to repay him for letting her stay within the hotel. He was being kind to her, she had to work hard to prove that she was worthy of being there.
"Are you sure? I mean, I'm sure that there are much more experienced workers than I..." Chase said, wiping her hands on the apron she wore around her middle, the black button up shirt and black skirt she wore being the standard uniform that the workers seemed to wear. "Thank you, really you are too kind Mister Oliver," Chase said as he suggested moving to the restaurant to discuss the matter further. Nodding she just followed him quietly, taking the lift back up. As they waited within the small box, Chase turned to Oliver, asking polietly, "how was your day today Mister Oliver?"

Oliver just smiled at the love of his life. He knew that eventually it would get easier to be around her and not always want to touch her or kiss her. He knew that it was a possibility she wouldn't get her memory back and he knew if that was the case he would try and win her over. It was slightly unfair since he already knew everything she liked but he knew that they belonged together and if it was her choice, then really it was fine. For now however he was just trying to help her get her memory back without telling her that she'd lost it.
When she seemed to think she wasn't qualified enough he waved his hand at her to dismiss the notion. She didn't know she had the skills but he did. And he knew she would work hard at whatever it was he gave her to do. He smirked slightly to himself, he hoped she did regain her memory and could feel stupid over how she treated him with so much respect. She would never do this if she was her old self. He almost laughed when she called him Mister Oliver, it was hard for him to keep a straight face though he managed. If she ever did regain her memory he would never let her forget that she had called him that.
He walked into the elevator, holding it until she joined him before pressing ground. it moved quickly but Chase still spoke. They arrived before he had time to answer so he answered as he motioned for her to walk out before him. Usually he wouldn't be so polite to her, as a couple they wouldn't be cute, they would tease and joke around, race to get out first. Now however he had to keep up an appearance with her now as the polite, kind boss. She would never think of him as such. "My day was good, many reservations, many bookings for the restaurant. Recent events don't seem to have stopped people from wanting to go out or on holiday." He said with a shake of his head.
He led her to the restaurant which now had nobody in it, not staff or customers. The front door was locked and only people with a magically enhanced key could get in. Even then they'd walk by the restaurant and bar and go straight to their rooms are the area was off limits. There were a few lights in the walls that kept the area dimly lit. It was quite romantic really though he knew he couldn't think of it that way. He was her boss, she would never do that since she barely knew him apart from Rose's wedding and the week she'd been here. That didn't mean he was against getting a bottle of wine. He wanted one, she didn't have to drink if she didn't want to.
He motioned to his booth, the one higher than all the rest so he could watch over the restaurant. He kept walking and slid over the bar before grabbing one of the chilled red wine bottles and two glasses. He walked out that time and back to the table.
"I'm having wine, you're free to have a glass with me though don't feel any pressure to." He said as he popped the cork and poured the delicious liquid into one class and pouring the other one, she didn't have to drink it, he would if she didn't. "So you've been here a week and you've proven that you'll work hard. You've done a lot of different jobs and have done well in all of them so I'm going to give you the choice of either a cleaner of the rooms or a waitress. Whichever takes your pick. As a waitress you'll be expected to do all three meals. It's a very long shift from around 7 in the morning to anytime after 11 at night. You do however get hour breaks throughout the day and if at any point you need a ten minute break you'll get it. He said.
He knew that his shifts weren't good but he found that most people who worked for him needed the money and had nothing else to do. Since most of them lived at the hotel, they had nothing else to do anyway. They also earned more money faster this way. The cleaners were the same though they got to choose their hours, some even worked into the night. He took a sip from his wine and smiled at her warmly.
"The choice is yours. You're also welcome to stay as long as you please. And please don't go on thanking me, a lot of the other staff members stay here until they can get on their own two feet. It's the least I can do for hard-working staff. So? Want the promotion?" He asked as he took another sip, well gulp.

Chasity couldn't believe that this was happening, her life had gone from absolute pointlessness to being worth something again. She had a decent job with a pay which was enough to support her grandfather substantially and pay part of her mother's hospital bills and also have a little on the side to save up for herself. A job like this was hard to come by, and she was glad that Rose had suggested to her that she take it. Chase would be eternally grateful to Oliver for letting her work here, even something as menial as a cleaner was better than her gig jobs which were only sporadic at best.
"That's good," Chase said politely in reply to Oliver as he spoke, it was nice that she was able to speak to him like this, especially since it wasn't like they got to converse all that often. Oliver was a busy man, and Chase didn't want to disturb him or distract him. Besides, it wasn't like they had much to talk about, Chase was just a worker and he was her boss. The only thing they could possibly talk about that was related to the both of them was Rose. Somehow though, the thought that all they had in common was Rose hurt, deeply. There had to more than that, it was rather sad to think that Rose was the only connection between the two.
Walking into the restaurant Chase sat where Oliver gestured for her to, sliding into the seat at the table. As Oliver placed the glass of wine before her she could only nod silently. She wasn't all that fond of alcohol, she found that she didn't really have much of a tolerance for it but a few mouthful's wouldn't hurt, would it? "Thank you Mister Oliver." She took the glass by the stem, lifting the red liquid to her lips as she sipped the sweet wine. Licking her lips as a drop escaped she had to admit, it was very nice wine, she just hoped that it wasn't anything too expensive, she hated for it to be a waste on her.
As Oliver began to speak Chasity knew her mouth dropped a little, was he offering her a proper job? Her! "Are...Are you sure? I mean, I'm sure there are more qualified people about, and I'm not the best candidate for such a job working here. I don't have any qualifications or experience..." She hurried, she didn't know what to say in reply. She so desperately needed the money but she had no confidence in herself that she'd be able to complete the job at all. "I...yes, I'd love to work the extra hours if you'd be willing to hire me. I'm not sure how I'd do as a waiter though, so I guess I'll take the cleaning job since I'm quite handy with it. I've had more than enough experience cleaning."

Oliver was glad that Chase took the wine. It was one of the best. He watched in pure agony as she licked her perfect lips, the red liquid almost falling. He looked away quickly, the small movement having a big effect on him. Bigger than it should have been. He just smirked slightly at the fact she was still calling him Mister Oliver. He loved it. He would tease her about it forever, whether or not she got her memory back. Eventually she would be his again, he would win either her back, or her memory back.
When she started going on about how she wasn't qualified he started laughing, finding it very humorous indeed. How could she worry about that at all? In his hotel? She was worried about qualifications. He chuckled, sipping his wine faster than he should be. "Chasity, do you ever talk to the other members of staff? Most of them were homeless before I let them work here, either that or criminals who couldn't get a job. Have you never heard about what I do? I give jobs to those no-one else will, give them a place to stay and let them work, rent free until they have enough money to go their separate ways, buy a home, get a better job, whatever they want. You are more qualified than most the people working here." He said, letting her know exactly what he did.
When she then accepted the job, asking for the cleaning roll he smiled and filled their glasses to the top again, not bothering to ask her if she wanted it. He put the bottle down and lifted his glass, waiting for hers to lift hers also. When she did he clinked them together with a smile on his face.
"To the start of a beautiful contract." He teased as he brought the class to his mouth and drunk half of it in one big gulp. "I look forward to having you as a permanent member of my staff."

Chasity was, well she was beyond happy she was elated. This was what she needed, a stable job and money to pay for her grandfather and her mother. She was in a position now that meant that she was a proper employee at the Fiery Dragon, it was amazing that this man, Oliver was being so kind to her. It made her heart swell and fill up with happiness, gratefulness and surprisingly, pride as well. She had no idea why she'd be proud of this man but she was, maybe because he was being so nice to her when she'd only ever heard about his cold attitude and distance in papers. Rose had told her that he was kind though, and that statement was proven by his actions.
At his question she shook her head slightly. She spoke to a few people here in there but Chase wasn't sure why but most people didn't talk to her, they just...stared. She didn't know why but she just put it aside to the fact that she was the new girl here. She hoped that the other staff members didn't think she was there to take their jobs, because she wasn't, she was no threat to anyone. Chasity was just there because of Rose, it was as simple as that. "That's a very honest and kind thing for you to do Mister Oliver," she said with a soft smile, seeing him in a new light. He was different from what she had imagined. "I'm sure everyone here is very in-debt to you, as am I now too." She joked with a slight giggle.
"Yes, and thank you again, I really don't know how I will ever be able to repay you for your kindness," Chase said as she watched him swallow his wine gustily. She herself just took another sip of the drink, the tarty fruit taste tingled on her tongue as she took a bigger mouthful, each time made it taste better than the last. Soon too, her own glass was gone and she felt a little light headed, having drunk that far too quickly. "That was...tasty," she commented with a smile, admiring her empty glass, her grandfather would be proud, he'd been trying for years to get her to drink, except for one year, she remembered that he didn't offer her anything at all...strange.

Oliver shrugged when Chase complimented him on what a nice thing he was doing. Honestly he wasn't really that phased over it. He had wanted to make a name for himself other than just being his Father's son and not only did what he do help his image, he also helped countless lives and got people in a good place. He knew that he had a big effect on the people he hired and he'd never once seen them go astray. Pippa was a good example of that, he had found her trying to rob his kitchen when he was just starting out and instead of turning her in he had given her a job. She had been loyal to him ever since. He found kindness was often treated with kindness.
"No-one owes me anything." He said with a serious voice. It was true, he didn't expect anything from people other than their loyalty to him and his hotel. Even then that was only until they were ready to leave.
He shook his head and waved his hand. She didn't have to repay him. She was Chase. Hopefully she'd get his memory back, that would be the only time he ever brought up repaying and even then it would be to tease her. He owed her more than she realised. She had raised their kid into the beautiful young boy he was and now it was his turn evidently. Fate it seemed was against them being together as a couple. One day maybe he'd understand why but for now he could just sit and wait and hope his baby returned to him before she missed too much of her sons life like he had.
He watched as she downed her glass and raised an eyebrow at the bold move. Of course he was drinking it fast but after all those years of hard drinking he had grown accustom to it. Of course that didn't mean he wasn't up to it. He would never usually do this, not with anyone besides the few like Pippa but this was Chase. Everyone on the staff team knew who she was and that she was the mother to his child. So why not get drunk with her, maybe the alcohol would somehow jog her memory.
"Maybe we should move on to something stronger." He said with a slight smirk before standing and moving to the bar, jumping over and motioning to the long line of spirits. "Your choice." He said with a wink.
