"Come on Sav, hurry!" Orion said under his breath, his lips twisted into a grin as he held out his hand for his friend, the other steadying the guitar he had on his back. They could hear the calling of the professor on duty who happened to have, unluckily been standing outside the entrance to the Ravenclaw common room and had seen the students leaving. Thankfully it was dark enough that you couldn't see their faces until they ran past windows, moonlight shining through and illuminating the stone floor. Whatever professor had been trying to follow them seemed to have long given up, Orion couldn't even hear their calls anymore but he didn't stop. Keeping his hold on Savannah he ran out the entrance of the castle, only stopping once they were in the shade of a tree halfway down the hill to the lake. "Well, wasn't expecting for there to be a Professor out there," he commented, wiping a trail of sweat from his brow with his sleeve, still grinning wildly. He loved an adventure. "Come on," he said, keeping hold of Savannah's hand as he lead them down the path which lead to the waterfall hidden out behind the Quidditch pitch. "Last time you said you wanted to hear me sing, but those other girls were there so I decided to give you a private showing," he said in explanation, helping Savannah down some of the steeper parts of the path until they were finally at their destination. Taking off his guitar he seated himself on one of the boulders, patting a spot next to him. "Come on," he gestured to his friend, teasing, "I'm not going to bite."Once she had sat down he began to play. "So I call your name, cross my fingers uncross the others, hesitate. I don't think straight with nothing to prove.
I don't wanna say I'm leaving so I'll stay until the weekend. And you can take all your things; the boxes and rings and get going.
'Cause I've been waiting for...
All the pretty girls on a Saturday night. Let it be, and come to me with the look in your eyes. Will you break and take all the worlds from my mouth? I wish all the pretty girls were shaking me down..."Orion had to admit, he was playing this song for a reason. Since he'd been spending a lot more time with Savannah recently, he had found himself feeling flushed around her, not in the stupid way where he'd be red in the face. No more like a tightness in his chest, a loss of breath, little things like that which had Orion knowing that he might have developed more than just feelings of friendship towards Savannah. But of course she didn't like him that way so he was content to keep it just as friends, just like this.

Savannah's heart was racing and her lips seemed stuck in the large grin on her face. She kept looking behind her and couldn't contain her giggles. She had no idea where Orion was taking her or why he had lead her out the common room. The fact a professor had been there had made it all the more exciting. Of course if he hadn't run she could have come up with some bullshit excuse since she was a prefect after all but Orion had had other plans and she couldn't exactly abandon him to save her own skin. So she had risked legging it after him, much to the anger of the professor.
The fact Orion was gripping her hand was only making Sav's heart beat faster than normal. It was warm and perfect, exactly how she would imagine it to feel. She had to mentally cringe at how pathetic her crush was but it was so fun at the same time that she couldn't help but love it. When he slowed, she did to and she smiled at him. He could let go of her hand but he didn't. Of course he probably wasn't doing it for the reasons she wanted him to hold her hand but that was fine. "I wasn't expecting to be dragged out the common room." She grinned.
He gave her his reasons for why they were out here in the middle of the dark, running from professors and she felt her insides spin a little. He wanted to give her a private show? She knew that it was impossible for him to like her but the fact he was doing all this made her want to believe he did. Of course she wouldn't let herself. "I didn't think you minded them there as they applauded and clapped and kissed the ground you walked on." She teased happily though even the thought of their attention couldn't dampen her mood. When they arrived at the waterfall she couldn't deny how romantic this was.
If only he had meant it in a romantic way. She walked over and sat where he offered, shaking her head at the bite comment. He didn't have to ask her twice to get her close to him. She once again wanted to kick herself for how pathetic she sounded. It was stupid and ridiculous but it made her happy. When he started to play she found her eyes drift shut. She imagined he was singing the words for her and when he finished she opened her eyes and smiled.
"You have an amazing voice. You could make it big one day if you tried. I still want you to teach me. Even if you don't think you'd be good at it. Go on, play another, it is my private show after all."

"Yeah, sorry that it was so sudden, should have maybe given you a bit more warning in advance," he said, rubbing the back of his neck in embarrassment. He hadn't really thought that one out did he...oh well. Savannah didn't seem to mind, so that was all right for Orion then. He had done this merely because a) he'd be able to spend more time with her, and b) it would be awesome and fun. Orion was a bit of an adventurous kid, always roaming off and exploring new places, so sneaking out at night was one of the things that he frequently did.
"It was nice to have all the attention, I wouldn't deny that," he replied with a cheeky wink. Truthfully he didn't t really care about this, he may or may not have set this up so he could spend a little bit of time with Savannah away from prying eyes so he could just, be himself. He had a name to live up to after all, Slytherin's hated him for being a Ravenclaaw, his father constantly sent him howlers to make sure he knew his place and his siblings...well, Orion didn't really like to talk to them about his emotional stuff since they'd just tease him about it, which really did nothing to help him at all.
At her compliments he lowered his head, hiding the blush which tinged his cheeks in the shadows which was cast along his perfect cheekbones, a smile gracing his lips. "Yeah, well I'd like to try for the music industry but you know, the parents..." he shrugged, "well, we'll see where it goes."
"Another one? Alright this one's called A Team by Ed Sheeran, it's this guy who kinda looks like a Weasley," Orion said, plucking at the guitar strings.
"White lips, pale face Breathing in snowflakes Burnt lungs, sour taste Light's gone, day's end Struggling to pay rent Long nights, strange men
And they say She's in the Class A Team Stuck in her daydream Been this way since 18 But lately her face seems Slowly sinking, wasting Crumbling like pastries And they scream
The worst things in life come free to us Cause we're just under the upper hand And go mad for a couple of grams And she don't want to go outside tonight And in a pipe she flies to the Motherland Or sells love to another man It's too cold outside For angels to fly Angels to fly."
Fading off the song he turned to Savannah. Looking out towards the water fall he could hear the gushing of it as it poured into the pool beneath, the rustling of the leaves from the forbidden forest, the smell of wet grass filtering the air. It was cool out, and as the wind blew he looked to Savannah and seeing as she wasn't wearing all that much since he had literally dragged her from the common room just before, Orion shrugged off his jack, holding it out for her. "Here, so you don't catch a cold," he offered with a smile.

As Orion ducked from her comment she smiled, pleased that he had liked it. She sat there, her knees up by her chest and watched him. He was so handsome, she had to wonder why he didn't have a girlfriend all the time. Of course there was more to someone than there face but as soon as you spoke to Orion you realised he was different. He was smart but not the born with it kind, he was kind and caring. He was funny and could make anyone smile. So why he didn't have a fan club already was a mystery to her.
He spoke about his family and she nodded, realising that being a part of the Fey family could either be a prison or privilege, depending on how you looked at it. The same with any pureblood family. She couldn't imagine not being able to follow her dreams. Her mother would never try to stop her from doing something she loved unless of course it was dangerous. He then started playing another song by some muggle. As soon as he sang she found her throat catch, the words reminded her of her mother.
She sat there in shock as she listened to the words. She guessed it was about a prostitute. Her mother wasn't one, not to her knowledge but the rest rang loudly. When it finished she didn't meet Orion's eyes as she thought about it. It saddened her that words like that were what reminded her of her mother. Then Orion spoke and she snapped out of it, looking to him. He offered his jacket. She wasn't wearing much, a dress. It had been warm in the common room. She took it with a smile. "Thanks, next time at least let me grab a jacket." She teased she she slung it over her shoulders. "I can't get over how beautiful your voice it. Come on, more." She said with a laugh.

Orion felt as if he could speak to Savannah about anything, and she wouldn't judge him. Maybe it was because he had known her for so long, or that he may or may not have hidden feelings for the girl. He'd never admit them to her though, she probably had a boyfriend that he just didn't know about after all. Orion had heard all the rumors after all, girls and boys alike lined up for Savannah, how was Orion ever supposed to have the chance to even go on a date with her when she would always seemingly be indisposed with other people. He wouldn't have a semblance of a chance. As he finished his song, Orion could see that Savannah was avoiding him...had he said something wrong? He had picked the song just because he liked it, it was a song that affected him deeply because he knew what it was like to loose yourself, albeit not to drugs like in the song but to loose yourself in this life, unable to find the right direction. Orion's dreams were shattered when his parents threw them back in his face, saying he'd never be able to make it and that he could never sing for a living. Even though he was still wanting to pursue that dream, he knew he wouldn't be able to do that with his parent's around. As Savannah took his offered jacket he smiled, sighing internally. He was glad that Savannah had come out with him, even if he had surprised the trip on her, she still willingly came along with him which was a nice thought. "Yeah, sorry about that," Orion replied with a laugh, knowing that he should have given her time to get changed out of her current outfit which wasn't really all that appropriate for being outside at night in the winter months. "Thanks..." Orion simply said in reply, smiling softly. He really did mean it, to hear that he was good, it gave his usually abysmal confidence a bit of a boost which was something he desperately needed. He always seeked for recognition from his parents but he'd never get it from them, so hearing it from others was the next best thing. "That means a lot to me, that you think so." Asking for another, Orion could only comply, beginning to strum. "Come on skinny love just last the year Pour a little salt, we were never here My, my, my, my, my, my, my, my Staring at the sink of blood and crushed veneer
I tell my love to wreck it all Cut out all the ropes and let me fall My, my, my, my, my, my, my, my Right in this moment this order's tall
I told you to be patient I told you to be fine And I told you to be balanced And I told you to be kind
In the morning I'll be with you But it will be a different kind I'll be holding all the tickets And you'll be owning all the fines."Another song that Orion held close to his heart, the music sheets stashed in a box at the back of his cupboard hidden beneath hanging coats and suits. He had gone to a music store and picked out the sheet music to his favourite music off his muggle music player, having spent days learning them in his room during the holidays and they stuck with him. Orion loved to play, it really was his passion, and his life. He wouldn't know what to do without his music, it was like that one time his brother had stolen his guitar and had told him that he had destroyed it. Orion couldn't remember a day when he had ever felt such despair and anger, and in his desperation he had even tried to his Alex...he had regretted that move later on that night after his mother spotted him trying to deck his brother. "Ah, love that song," Orion lammented, leaning back on the rock as he looked out at the water, seeing the moonlight reflected in the pool beneath his feet. Grinning he slipped his guitar off and placing it gently down, sliding off the rock as he walked to the water's edge, holding out his hand to Savannah. "May I have this dance?" he asked, bowing slightly. Skinny Love by Bon Iver (fuck the Birdy version, ORIGINAL ALL THE WAY!)

Savannah was enjoying the night. It was cold and she would admit she'd rather be wearing more clothes but with Orion's jacket it made it tolerable and she could focus on the beauty. There were no clouds which was a pleasant surprise so even though it was the middle of the night, everything was visible. It was truly beautiful and as Orion sang again, she shut her eyes, taking in the beauty of his voice. The song was slow and beautiful which only made the night more enjoyable, she could really hear the music and it sank straight into her soul. When he stopped she opened her eyes, staring at the waterfall which was a calming background noise and beautiful site.
When Orion said he loved that song she could see why. It was sad but beautiful and they were always the best. However when he then started to take off his guitar and stand up she frowned in confusion, wondering where he was going. He walked over to a clear spot of moonshine and what he said made her smile. She took put his jacket on properly, putting her arms through the sleeves before sliding off the rock and moving forward to him. She curtsied in front of him before taking his and and placing her other on his shoulder.
"You may." She said softly, her eyes twinkling as she smiled as if she was unable to stop.
They started moving and it was beautiful. It was as if they didn't need music as the waterfall splashed softly and the wind blew through the trees. The wind blew her hair softly in front of her face but she didn't care as she kept her eyes locked on to Orion's. It was beautiful with the moon and stars shining brightly above them. She felt something tug inside her and without even thinking she slowly moved closer until her lips were touching his. She left them there for a few moments until she realised what she was doing.
In a hurry she jumped back, a shocked look on her face. It had just felt so right, the moment so beautiful. She looked at him in horror. She had wrecked it, she had wrecked any friendship they had had. Now it would be awkward and horrible. She turned away from him and took a deep breath though her heart was beating too fast and her mind was racing.
"I'm so sorry, I shouldn't have don that." She said as she quickly started to take off his jacket though she was too flustered and couldn't/ "I'll just go back." She said as she continued to struggle in his jacket.

Orion was glad that he could spent time with Savannah here, it was almost, romantic dare he say. He hadn't really had much thought to his plan, just that he'd play some music for her away from prying eyes. He'd picked the waterfall because Orion loved the acoustics which the little hidden alcove gave, his voice bouncing back off the trees, the gurgle of the water a soothing background noise to his playing. He came here often to play, it was usually a secluded area, although a lot of couples did visit since it was a good place to hide from Professors for a good snog.
Singing was his passion, his release. Orion was glad that Savannah seemed to connect with the music just as much as he did, the songs always held a place in his heart and he was glad that she could see the emotions that he held when he sung the lyrics. Music was a gateway to the heart, or so Orion believed. If only he could make his father see, if he could let his father hear his song, the song from his heart which held all his misery, distraught, loneliness, hurt, pain, everything that he kept bottled up inside, if only Charles Fey would listen to that and understand, if only a little. Maybe then Orion would be happy.
As Savannah joined him down by the water's edge he chuckled as she curtsied to his bow, putting her hand on his shoulder as the other slipped into his open hand. Resting his hand against her waist he began to lead them in small circles, slowly, taking his time as there was no rush. He could feel her heat beneath her dress, radiating off her in the cool winter's air, the moonlight which illuminated them kept her face in plain view all the time. He just smiled down at her, humming a slow waltz tune under his breath to which he followed the beat of, stepping in time with it.
Orion hadn't even noticed when Savannah had pressed her lips to his, he only was shaken from their dance when they stopped moving, his eyes wide at the feeling against his face. Did that just... Orion couldn't believe it. No way could have Savannah just kissed him, kissed him! He was the one who liked her, not the other way around! This just couldn't be possible, unless...
Savannah tried to run away and Orion soon snapped out of his dazed trance, his hand snapping out to catch her arm. "Wait Savannah I-," he put his jacket back on her shoulders, pulling it up her arms, his breath coming in white puffs. "Savannah..." Orion said softly, keeping his hold on her arm, afraid that she might try to run again. "Why...why did you kiss me?"
Orion tried to not get his hopes up, it was probably just a mistake, caught up in the moment and there was no meaning behind it. Just a kiss between friends, because he was being nice to her. There was no meaning...but still Orion couldn't help but want to cross his fingers in his hope that maybe she did just have feelings for him, the same feelings which he felt about her. "Why...was it just...a moment?"

Savannah couldn't believe what she'd done. She has kissed Orion! She could still feel his lips against hers and it made her heart flutter slightly. She has kissed him. It should be a god thing but she knew it would wreck whatever friendship they had. She was probably over thinking but she couldn't help it. She had lasted so long with this crush and now she had acted on it. She wanted to slap herself, she was in the last half of her last year and she had made the mistake. She cursed herself silently as she continued to fumble with the jacket. Why couldn't she just get it on.
Then she felt him grab her arm as he spoke. He pulled the jacket back up and she froze, not knowing what he was going to say or do. He obviously wasn't angry but he could still pity her or something for thinking she ever had a chance. When he spoke he sued that soft voice he often did. He didn't sound like he was pitying her. She refused to look at him though as he asked her a question. She looked down and bit her lip. She could lie and say it was the moment, his next statement meant he had obviously thought of that explanation too. She turned to look at him. She could choose. Did she risk it and give him the truth?
"I kissed you because.... I like you Orion." She said slowly and closing her eyes in defeat as she admitted it out loud for the first time in years. She couldn't believe the first person she ever admitted it to was Orion himself. It was ridiculous. She pulled from his grip and stepped back slightly. "But don't worry. I know you don't like me Orion. Just pretend it never happened. I'm sorry I did it."

Orion didn't know what to think, Savannah, the girl he was crushing on just kissed him...what on earth did that mean? What was Orion supposed to take from that? Was he supposed to now get his hopes up and start thinking that maybe there was a chance between him and Savannah? But that couldn't be, she didn't like him in that way, they were just friends. He had taken her out here for the chance that something like this might have arisen but...still, it's shocking when it does happen since Orion hadn't thought in a million years that Savannah Ellington would kiss him. Whether it had been on whim or pure chance, Orion was going to take it.
Orion could only wait now for her answer. He could barely hear her over the echoing thudding of his heart in his chest but, it didn't drown out the words which had left her plump lips. It stopped his heart, his breathing caught up as he stood still, letting her words echo out about them in the clearing, the realisation of the meaning behind them sinking in. It was only as she stepped away from him did it sink in.
"Wait!" he said quickly, stepping forward as he brought his hands up to her cheeks, cupping them as he pulled her face up, pressing his lips against hers in another kiss. He lingered against her lips for a moment longer before he pulled away, still keeping his hands against her cheeks. "I-I like you too Sav," Orion said sincerely, "I just never would have thought that you'd feel the same way about me, ever. It's...rather surprising, but amazing." He took a deep breath, trying to calm his erratic heartbeat before he breathed out, "...I like you, Savannah, and so if I suggested that you and I go into Hogsmead tomorrow night for dinner, would you care to join me?"

This was a disaster. An absolute disaster. Savannah had successfully managed to turn an amazing night filled with magic and music into an embarrassing moment for her. She knew Orion wasn't the guy to spread it around the school but that didn't mean she didn't have to live with it. See the look in his eye when he would look at her and remember that she had that pathetic crush on him. Savannah was a happy person, she tried with every fiber in her body to be happy but right now she just wanted to run to her bed and cry. That scared her because her childhood had been spent watching her mother cry over men and now it was her first chance. She had never cried over any of her boyfriends or girlfriends before. Ever.
Then out of the blue Orion was right in front of her, his hands on her cheeks and then even more out of the blue, his lips were on hers once more. She sort of stood their awkwardly, her hands by her side because she was so shocked by the action. Then when he stopped and started talking all she could do was stand there and stare at him with wide eyes. It seemed the roles had reversed from her shocking him, to him shocking her. What he said shocked her more than the kiss. He liked her. Orion, the guy she had had a crush on since she was old enough to have feelings for the opposite sex, liked her.
He continued to speak, saying exactly how she felt in that moment. It seemed they were both in shock that they suddenly realised the other felt the same way. When he stopped to take a breath she copied his actions, realising she hadn't been breathing since he kissed her. It was strange, Sav never acted this way. She was always the one who kept her cool in these situations but now she was all over the place. With her breathing almost steady again, she stared at Orion, still in shock as he once again spoke.
Her lips slowly morphed into a smile as she nodded, despite the fact his hands were still holding her cheeks. How could he think she'd say no? Well actually she knew how, she was still expecting him to turn around and say he was kidding. She just couldn't believe after all this time he'd liked her. Well maybe not the same amount she had, but it didn't matter. "I would be honored to join you." She said with a small grin, bringing her hands up to grip the ones on her cheeks.

Orion couldn't believe that this was happening, what on earth was going on? He couldn't figure it out, it was all a jumble in his head, he could barely string two thoughts together to make any sense of it all. Orion wasn't sure what he was supposed to be doing, was he supposed to say something? To respond? He still was in shock, Savannah actually liked him, liked him! It was just too overwhelming. The Ravenclaw would have never thought that there would be a case where the girl who was extremely popular with both men and women alike, would ever like him.
Savannah seemed shocked when Orion kissed her, he had to chuckle at the look of shock on her face, he must have looked the exact same when Savannah had kissed him. He was sure his shock would have been quite the reflection of what Savannah was showing right now. It was funny, that they both had no idea that they felt the exact same way about each other and had, for all this time continued to think that the other party didn't like the other and therefore they both didn't make a move. Funny how that worked out now though, since they were only realising now that both Ravenclaws liked each other.
Orion let out a sigh of relief as Savannah said he'd join him for a meal at Hogsmead. "Brilliant." The smile which took over his face was almost painful, stretched to the limits in his happiness. Orion was pretty sure that there hadn't been a happier moment in his life other than getting Cleo and also learning how to play the guitar. Savannah had agreed to go on a date with him, Orion. He really was excited for this. Now though, that it was all over Orion wondered what they were going to do and, settling for what he did best, he asked. "Shall I sing you a song in commemoration then?"
