It was the full moon and after taking Wolfsbane, supplied to him from the Headmistress and potions professor. He was surprised he was allowed here still but she seemed to find him worth saving. Maybe it was because she knew who his brother was. She'd never brought it up to him but he could tell, the fear he could smell when she was around him. She wasn't afraid of him, she was afraid of Rainer taking him. Of course she had nothing to worry about, Rainer hated him. So he walked out, with permission and made his way to the Shrieking Shack.
He had changed many times now. He was use to it. He just hated that for the night, he had to stay awake by himself doing nothing. He hated the fact he couldn't be with anyone. Not wolves or wizards. He would never let Z come with him. He was in control so he knew he wouldn't hurt her but he just couldn't face it. He just wouldn't allow it. He didn't allow much with her anymore. They were over, in his mind at least. He hated however that she was all he thought about when he walked around the shrieking shack in his wolf form.
The moon rose and the transformation began. He wept and whined as the change happened until he was on all four. He let out a b ark and lunged at the wall in front of his, clawing at the wood with a growl. He both hated and loved the fact he had this dark side to him. He loved the strength, the power it gave him but he hated the loneliness since he wasn't allowed to join his own kind. He was an outcast by default, whether people knew it or not. He let out another whine and flopped to the ground, resting his head on his paws. The night was still in the young hours and he had many to go. It was too dangerous to go to sleep.
Then he heard something. His ears pricked and he lifted his head. He listened as he heard footsteps up the stairs. He stood and backed into the shadows of the corner. Someone was in the shack with him and they were coming closer. He lent down and his heckles raised as he stared at the doorway, waiting to see who it was, ready to fight, growl or run. When a girl walked in his vision, a familiar one he let out a low growl.

'Hey, Gracie Loo Who,' The Sheriff said, her ruby red lips pulling up into a smile as the taunting began. Unfortunately, Teddy and Raven were on a date tonight, one that was being held in the Room of Requirement, and because of what may or may not happen afterwords Gracie had to sleep in her own dorm room tonight, which made her uneasy. 'Hey, bitch I'm talking to you,' She said before grabbing Gracie's shoulder and spinning her around, 'Hi,' she said with a fake grin, almost as fake as her boobs, almost. 'Lets play a game shall we,' Gracie didn't answer, she knew by now just to ignore her and her friends. Sooner or later they'd get bored and go find a first year to upset, how they got into Gryffindor, I'll never know. 'Come on, It'll be fun,' She said with raised eyebrows. Gracie doubted it, the last time The Sheriff wanted to play a game Gracie ended up with rainbow colored hair that lasted for a week. 'Margret, pick a place, any place in the world,' The Sheriff ordered glancing towards her Brunette friend. 'Timbuktu,' Ursula said in response. The Sheriff looked at Gracie with wide eyes and a smile that would out shine Cheshires, 'perfect,' and with a wave of her wand Gracie's bed disappeared.
Gracie's jaw dropped as she looked at the empty space where her bed use to be, well now where was she going to sleep? 'What's the matter? Is little Sleeping Beauty going to cry?' The Sheriff mocked as her minions laughed in union. Gracie bit her lip, deciding not to point out that, that wasn't her real name, and instead walked out the door with her book in her hands, ignoring their laughter. Gracie walked towards the sixth year boy's dormitory then and knocked on the door five times, when she didn't get a response, Gracie walked inside and grabbed the map Teddy's uncle gave him, scribbled a note that she had it and left as quickly as she came.
The taunting began after her second year, when everyone became too old and too cool for her stories. Teddy, her only friend at the time, told her about his Uncle's map, and that if she ever needed it she would find it in his dresser. Gracie smiled at him and thanked him for being so kind to her, however she never needed the map, until now. Pulling out her wand Gracie said clearly, 'I somenely swear that I, am up to no good,' then she watched in amazement as ink began to appear on the parchment that was blank only moments before.
Leaving the Gryffindor Common Room Gracie walked out the main doors towards the Whomping Willow, something that made her nervous, she always hated that tree ever since it almost crushed her during her first year. Taking out her wand Gracie put the tree under a sleeping charm, and watched as it began to relax, in a way that made Gracie assume it was asleep. Slipping into the hole at the base of the tree, Gracie began to walk up the steps, following the tunnel as it took her towards the Shrieking Shack. Gracie was nervous as she followed the dark passage way, she had never entered the old building this way before and didn't know what to expect. She pushed open, what looked like a trap door, and winced as it fell back and hit the floor, Well I guess it's a good thing that nobody's in here, Gracie thought as she set her book down on the floor before pulling herself up. Gracie closed the door then and picked her book up, before looking around.
She loved this old building and despite the fact that it's 'haunted' Gracie often found herself hanging out here, especially during the Hogsmeade trips when Teddy was with Raven. She loved Raven, which is why she tried to distance herself from Teddy in order to not cause trouble with the two, she knew how weird their friendship was which is why she loved Raven, she accepted it, and her, which was rare.
Brushing the dust off from her knees, Gracie began to walk up the stairs towards the main bedroom, she kept an eye out for a broom, just in case she had to sleep on the floor tonight. However when she entered the bedroom she was met with a low and threatening growl from what looked like a wolf upon first glance, but wasn't.
Gasping Gracie froze unsure of what to do in this situation, she couldn't run because then it would chase after her, and she couldn't stay because then she was definitely puppy chow. But then she noticed something that she probably shouldn't have noticed, it looked as though the werewolf knew her, and she knew that look well, people gave it to her often. Which was weird because Werewolves don't even recognize their own family members...unless...unless they were on Wolfspane. It was a long shot but Gracie didn't have any other options that she could see so she decided to run with it, 'Hello, my name is Gracie,' She said unsure on how to go about this. She set the book down slowly and walked slowly towards the werewolf. 'I'm not going to hurt you, though if your not on Wolfspane I doubt you'd be too worried about that, however I'm pretty sure you are,' Gracie said softly inching towards the animal inch, by terrifying inch.

Daniel stared at the girl. He couldn't remember her name. She was with Teddy a lot. He watched her carefully. If she was going to attack he'd have to either jump past her or out the window. If she was going to run he'd let her. She'd probably tell everyone she saw a werewolf in the Shrieking Shack and McGonagall would tell him to find a new place and that would be that. However she didn't move which he thought was rather stupid. Instead she stared at him. She was obviously going over her options. She can't have been that smart to just stand there. Or maybe she was just that scared, he could smell it in the air around them.
Then, to his disbelief, she spoke to him. She was speaking to a strange werewolf, one that could tear her into pieces in seconds. She introduced herself as Gracie and the name sounded familiar, something he'd heard in passing by or that Teddy had dropped in to conversation or something. Then what she said next surprised him. How could she know he was on Wolfsbane? What gave it away? Maybe the fact he still hadn't attacked which was strange. A werewolf wouldn't bother waiting. She stepped closer and he let out another growl. He didn't want her close to him. So she wasn't going to hurt him and he wasn't going to hurt her. She could leave now. He wished he could speak but he couldn't. He had no way to communicate.
He moved out of the shadows, deciding he'd rather be the one moving than her. He moved into the moonlight that shone through the window. He never took his eyes off her. He stood tall. He didn't know why he bothered staying inside but he didn't want to be seen outside. Then he lay down. Why not? He wasn't going to hurt her and there was no point in looking threatening. It kind of confirmed that he was in control. He barked at her, not a threatening one, just one that let her know he was of no danger. He put his muzzle on his front paws and watched her, still not trusting her completely. He was glad there was no way she could identify him. If there was a way he would be screwed.

Gracie flinched and dropped her hand immediately when the Werewolf growled at her, her heart raced quickly and she backed up then, not wanting to push her luck with him. She watched him, a curious look on her face when the wolf walked out of the shadows and towards the window, his eyes never leaving hers as he did so, the moonlight shown threw the window and hit his fur just right causing the true light brown color in it to show. She half expected him to howl at it like they do in all the movies, but he didn't, which caused Gracie to mentally kick herself for being so stereotypical.
Then the wolf laid down before her which only confirmed her hunch, he was on Wolfspane, she let out a breath she had been holding in and calmed down tremendously a smile on her face. She was going to live! Of course it wasn't because she was an awesome witch who could out match any sorcerer, nope, it was because she was too scared to move which caused her to be observant. It was stupid, she'll admit, but she was happy she didn't have to run. She hated to run it was exhausting.
Gracie smiled and put up a finger to the wolf, telling him one sec, before walking swiftly towards the door, not to leave, but to retrieve her book. She set it down before just in case the wolf saw it as a threat, which is understandable...it is quite big. Smiling Gracie walked towards the wolf again and sat down where she was standing only moments ago.
'I've been coming here since I was twelve, long before you,' She told the Wolf feeling the need to explain herself. Sure the only time she ever graced the Shrieking Shack's doorstep was when the girls were being mean to her and one of the boys was on the kind of date that Teddy was on tonight. But this was the first time that Raven and, or Teddy wasn't with her, and to be honest she was happy to have some company, even if that company couldn't talk, she knew she could talk enough for the both of them. 'However,' She said putting her hands up in a surrendering way, 'I'm prepared to make you a deal,' she said ignoring the fact that she was quoting her favorite Disney Pixar Movie Tangled, 'but more importantly I'm willing to share my hide out with you, however there will be a few ground rules. Now there's no need to get your tail in a puff it's nothing bad, it's just essential. Rule Number One,' Gracie began, making her voice sound all high and important, because she could and the Wolf couldn't make fun of her for it. 'I promise not to tell anyone about what really goes bump in the night here, if you promise to take your Wolfspane on an off chance that I may come here,' She said and offered the Wolf a kind smile, while she thought of another rule, but none came to her head. 'Well that's all I have for now, and I don't really think it's too demanding, do you?' She asked waiting for some sort of answer, a bark, a shake of a head, anything.

Gracie smiled and Daniel knew that she understood. When she held up a finger he merely closed his eyes. Hoping that meant she was going away. He could just lie here and wait for the morning to come. however her footsteps returned far too soon and he opened one eye to look at her. She was holding a fairytale book which he would raise his eyebrow at if he could. She sat down and he wanted to sigh. She was staying? He didn't want company from this strange girl. She spoke and he lifted his head. Was she going to kick him out? Surely she wasn't that stupid. He may be in control but he was still in his wolf form. He could get away with killing her easily. Well, not with McGonagall.
She said then that she was going to make a deal and he narrowed his eyes at her. She was pushing it. she was acting as if she had the upper hand here, which she didn't. He did for sure. One surge of energy and he could be on top of her, her throat between his teeth. He had never killed anyone before but she was starting to annoy him. As she said she'd share her hideout he let out a puff of hair and lay his down again.
She said she wasn't going to tell people but he didn't care. He had a feeling no-one would believe her if she did. Maybe Teddy but he couldn't see people really believing the girl who was carrying around fairytales. She wanted him to take wolfsbane, that was her condition. He would have snorted if possible. She didn't know it wasn't a choice for him but honestly, he didn't really want to try being a wolf without it. He'd never had the chance since McGonagall monitored him and the first time, had stayed with him. She was good to him.
When she said that was it he did roll his eyes. It was strange doing it as a wolf but he think he managed it. She was definitely a demanding one. He lifted his head again as he looked at her. He was lying down yet with his head raised he was her height, if not taller as she sat there. He nodded, there was no point ignoring her. She seemed like the type to get annoying. He then put his head down and closed his eyes. he'd heard her move before she could do anything so he thought he was pretty safe.

Gracie glanced at him unsure of what to make of his response, which made her feel bad. She did just walk into his hide out completely unannounced and gave him rules to abide by after all, he had every right to hate her. She bit her lip and laid down on her stomach unsure of how to start a conversation with someone who obviously disliked her. She felt uncomfortable, like she should leave, but where would she go? Her roommates sent her bed to Timbuktu for crying out loud, and if she slept on the couch in the Gryffindor Common Room she wouldn't be able to sleep because last time they did horrible things to her while she was passed out. Gracie glanced up from the Princess and The Pea story, still chewing her lip she spoke again.
'I mean if you don't want me to stay that's fine, just bark so I know. I can easily go sleep in the tunnels, I don't care if I get dirty,' Gracie said with a shrug acting as if it wasn't a big deal, when in reality those tunnels really freaked her out, plus she was an a little scared of the dark. 'I just thought that since were both out casts..' Gracie winced and kicked herself again for not having a filter. 'Sorry that was very rude, lets try that again. Since were both going to be alone tonight, I thought why not keep each other company, I mean it has to be awfully lonely being in this house all by yourself. I mean I know you hate me, that much is obvious but I don't know, what's one day out of the month going to hurt, if that?' Gracie asked with a small smile hoping he would project her. 'But if it makes you uncomfortable just bark and I'll leave, it's as simple as that,' Gracie said with a shrug.

Daniel didn't open his eyes as Gracie spoke again. He felt slightly bad since she was obviously picking up on his attitude. She offered to go sleep in the tunnels and he let out a loud breath, he was obviously not going to send her out into the night alone to sleep in tunnels. Why didn't she just go back to the castle? She didn't have to sleep out here. Her next comment made his eyes snap open into a glare. He was an outcast yes but she didn't have to go and say it. Of course however she went and apologised so he let his eyes slide shut. She didn't know who he was so he couldn't really take offense.
He opened his eyes when she said he hated her. He didn't hate her. He now felt guilty for treating her the way he had even though that had been merely shutting his eyes and ignoring her. There wasn't much else he could do, he was a wolf. He couldn't speak, he could merely look at her or shake and nod his head. When she finally stopped talking he stood, feeling sorry for the girl. She obviously wanted to be out here alone, well, not alone, but away from the castle which meant that she was avoiding whoever was there. It would probably be her room mates, or at least someone in gryffindor since she wouldn't sleep there whether she was here or not.
He heaved himself up, feeling pity for the girl. He would probably never have to interact with her again. Even if he did she would never know who he was. He doubted she'd be back here on the next full moon s he might as well be nice. It's not like he had a reputation to upkeep, not in this form anyway. He walked towards her and when he reached her he nudged her with his muzzle, moving her until she was in the position he he had been which was in the light from the window. When there he nudged her book lightly before taking a few steps away and lying himself down again.
He figured if she was reading it would be constant, her voice would almost be soothing and she wouldn't be constantly asking him questions or saying comments. It was a win-win since she was obviously going to be reading it anyway. He nodded slightly, to encourage her before resting his head down once more, watching her this time.
