Jackson felt like one of the worst boyfriends on the face of the planet. It seemed like he and Lucien had done nothing but fight as of late(he wouldn't admit it but part of him feared it was because he hadn't bit the bullet and done the deed with his beautiful girlfriend yet.) The last blow-out they had took place in his apartment and the whole thing frustrated Rachel. Sure, Jacks had been in the wrong, he really shouldn't have had his ex over knowing how insecure Lucien was but he couldn't help himself. The brunette had finished his relationships by being very good friends with all of them, he was always the gentleman. But today wasn't about any of his previous girlfriends, it was about his current one. The magnificent Lucien Wood. Jackson had fallen fast and hard for the younger girl, he only hoped she returned his strong affections. The young man spread out a blanket on the grass of a hill and spread out a picnic basket filled with all sorts of treats. In his hand was a bouquet of flowers, an arrangement he prayed his girlfriend would love. Jackson didn't have much money to spoil Lucien(much like that best friend of hers, Layne, did) but he tried to make do with what he had. He hoped she had gotten his owl and read it, if she had seen who it was from then there was a possibility she may have just stood him up. Jackson would have stood himself up. When he heard the sound of grass crunching beneath shoes, he stood up, the flowers in his hand. Then she came into his view, as beautiful and radiant as ever. He walked toward her, sheepishly looking at the ground and extending the bouquet to her. "I'm sorry for being a dumbass, Luce. I didn't mean to hurt you or make you feel like I didn't want you. Honest, I didn't." He felt his cheeks grow hot and he looked up to meet her amazing eyes. It was a gaze he could just get lost in forever.

Lucien didn't even know what she wanted anymore. She was hating herself more than ever, had she always been such a pathetic and jealous person? Was this what her real personality was like? Sure, she had always known that she wasn't the most pleasant person to exchange in conversation with, tending to hate others and judge them, it was just who she was. She had only one true friend whom she trusted but other than that, was there anyone else in Luciens' life that she actually liked, as a friend? Truthfully though, she didn't need others, she only needed Layne and Jackson...but even they were drifting away from her now. She truly was feeling alone. Layne was off...being Layne. Girls kept popping up left right and center trying to stake claim on the Chambre male, girls professing their love, girls wanting his children, it was just the usual routine but it meant Lucien hadn't seen her friend in weeks. Then there was Jackson and he...well, the last time they had met hadn't ended well. Lucien had gotten mad, extremely mad at her boyfriend for having his ex-girlfriend over at his house, something which she shouldn't really mind but she did. It bugged her, knowing that Jackson had once embraced and kissed others the way he did with her. Jackson was special, he had saved her and Lucien was uncontrollably and impossibly in love with the male. Yet she couldn't help but feel afraid. Afraid that he'd find someone better than her since there were so many other women out there whom would suit him so much better than her, and the fact she barely saw him because of school... Lucien worried far too much over this, and many nights were spent crying because she truly was afraid of loosing him. If she lost Jackson, then no one loved her, and that was all she ever wanted. Just for someone to love her for being herself, to accept her for all her faults and her flaws. Everything. Having received a letter from Jackson, Lucien had been cautious about opening it at first, fearing the worst but after she steeled herself she read it with shaking fingers. She read through the letter and felt a light flutter in her chest, maybe there was hope. Biting her bottom lip she had gotten ready, putting together an outfit that she thought was appropriate and as she pulled on her shoes and laced them up, she left for the location he had written onto the parchment. Arriving there she walked up the hill, seeing Jackson up ahead of her. As Jackson approached she slowed, eventually coming to a stop as her boyfriend stood before her, holding out a bouquet of flowers for...her? At his words she shook her head, hiding her fear and pain behind her usual painted mask as she smiled softly, something which was genuine though. Only two people got to see that smile, and one of them was standing before her. "No, I should be sorry, it's my fault for loosing my shit after all, sorry," she said, looking down to the flowers she cradled to her chest, the sweet aroma of the flowers enveloping her. As she glanced up, her cheeks tinged pink at the gesture of Jackson she was surprised by his gaze already on her. Blue locked with brown and she felt her breath catch in her throat, feeling her heart beat pick up. She couldn't draw herself away from him and, on instinct she closed the space between them quickly and stood up on her toes to kiss him softly, lingering against his lips after so long before she pulled back, using all her self preservation to not kiss him again. "Thanks Jacks, for...for everything."Outfit

When she took the flowers from him, Jackson couldn’t help but let out a silent sigh of relief. Maybe this meant that she was going to forgive him. Then she gave him that smile and it clenched at his chest. Sure, her smile was real but she was hiding her true feelings underneath it. Jackson knew this girl from the inside out even if she didn’t know it. Then she spoke and the brunette shook his head furiously, ”No, come on, Lucien, don’t do this to me. Don’t hide. Just tell me I fucked up. I know I did. Look, I’m sorry. I won’t invite any of them over again if it makes you uncomfortable. I promise. That was the last time.” He gazed at the ground again, ”I love you, Lucien. And I don’t want us to end like this.” He whispered.
He had said it. Like that. He had told her he loved her. Jackson had set his heart on the line now and if she didn’t return his feelings, he was going to be the biggest idiot on the face of the entire planet. Jackson just might die of embarrassment.
When she kissed him, he placed his hands on her hips and returned the action. When she pulled away, he lifted a hand to cup her cheek and he studied her face for while. ”For everything? I just to it to make you happy.” He kissed her forehead gently before he began to think of all the arguments they had. How much he had screwed up in this relationship already. ”God. Lucien. I’m sorry. I forget what it’s like to be in Hogwarts, to be a teenager. I’ve been an adult since I was seventeen. Sometimes I forget what you must be going through. And I’m sorry. I need to stop thinking about myself all the time. I want us to work out, Lucien. I really really do.”

Being with Jackson was like a god sent prayer, he was everything she could ever ask for and more. He cared for her, guarded her when she wanted to sleep, held her through her bad dreams and kissed her sadness away. She didn't know how she could have gotten someone as amazing as him, but the insecurities she felt because of it had her almost shaking in fear of loosing him. The young blonde couldn't deal with that thought, to be alone again. She just couldn't. She wouldn't. Jackson was hers, and she didn't want to let him go for anyone.
As he spoke she just shook her head, looking away, not wanting to admit to him that she was upset in fear that he'd chide her for being a child. Because she was, being a child that is. She was acting like a little girl who had her favorite toy at daycare taken away by another child, she was jealous and angry, but also a little afraid of what that new kid was going to do to her toy if they spent too long with it. Jackson was hers, and no matter how much she tried she couldn't help but feel that if he were with another woman he'd soon realise that Lucien wasn't good enough and he'd move on without a second thought...
At his words, Lucien was shocked silent, never having thought to hear those words from...well, anyone, let alone Jackson. Lucien stood there in utter disbelief, but soon shook herself from that trance as she realised she was probably looking like an idiot. Stepping forward she dropped the bouquet of flowers, opting to fist her hands into Jackson's shirt, pulling herself as close as she could to him, tears welling into her eyes. Burying her face into his chest she whispered out her reply. "I love you too Jacks, so, so much..."
Smiling softly as he kissed her forehead she let her hands come up to rest on top of his as they cupped her cheeks, her thumbs stroking the back of his hands. "It's okay, I know I was acting like a spoilt little brat about it. I know better, I do but...I just can't help it. I don't want to loose you to some other woman, especially one you've probably fucked daily in the past..." She was being serious when she said it, but it was funny since she and Jackson hadn't even made love yet. It was pretty weird to think that Lucien actually hadn't slept with Jackson since when she met men, it was usually the first thing she did. "Please, just...promise me you won't leave me..."

She was frozen and suddenly Jackson realized his mistake. This was going to cost him her, she would surely leave him now. He had said it as if it was insignificant but it meant so much to him; it was a big thing for Jackson to say he loved her. And he had gone and screwed it all up. "I-I mean-God. I'm doing this all wrong. I love you...but I wanted to say it in a...better more romantic way. Not telling you that I didn't want you to leave m-" He stopped as she pulled herself close to him.
He wrapped his arms around her tightly and let himself smile when she said she loved him as well. It was but a whisper and muffled through his shirt, but he heard it and it made his heart swell with joy. He didn't say anything for a moment, he just held her close and kissed the top of her head. "I never want to lose you, Luce..."
At her words, he rolled his eyes. Lucien would never lose him, in fact, it was the other way around. He feared her leaving him. "Daily? Au contraire. Never even once, I swear." Jackson looked into her eyes and hated the fact that the pain that was there he had caused. "For what it's worth, I never told any of them I loved them. I will never leave you until you send me away." Then he bent down and kissed her lips softly, smiling down at her. "Come on. Lets eat. Today and tonight will just be about you and me. No school, no work, no Rachel, nothing but you and me, yeah?" He asked, moving his hand down and gently taking her hand in his.

Lucien had felt so much relief when Jackson had said those three special words, no one had ever said them to her before, ever. She had felt such a deep happiness within she was sure this was the first time to ever feel such intense emotions, and it was all due to Jackson. He had warmed her frozen and shattered heart, pieced it back together and made her feel like she was wanted again, that she wasn't just some piece of trash on the street. "No Jackson, that's all I wanted to here," Lucien promised him, kissing him again, just to show him that his words had gotten through to her.
Lucien loved Jackson, she did. She loved him with everything, he had been the first person who actually liked her, and it wasn't even for the sex. The two hadn't even done that yet, surprisingly. But Lucien was glad, she didn't want to scare off Jackson. As she was wrapped up in his embrace she rested her head against his chest, breathing out in content. "You won't...I promise I'm not going anywhere, I'll always, always be by your side, every morning when you wake up I want to be there, I want to be the first thing you see..." she whispered back to him.
Lucien pulled back and rolled her eyes, like Jackson hadn't slept with those girls, "So you're trying to tell me you're a virgin? I highly doubt that my handsome boy." Lucien teased back. "I will never send you away, although I fear one day I'll do something stupid and it'll mess everything up, it always does. I can't...I've never done this before. This is all so different, having a boyfriend, being in love..." She leant into his touch and kiss, relishing in the feel of his warm lips against hers as she tried to commit it to memory, who knows, one day those lips might not be there anymore for her to come home to.
Letting Jackson take her hand, she walked back with him to their spot, seeing the picnic basket and she just smiled. "Thank you, today it's just you and me, just the two of us against the world..." She looked up at him and smiled, leaning into him again as she let out a little laugh. "This is so pretty Jacks, really, I don't know what I did to deserve such a fabulous boyfriend."
