Rose woke with a grin on her face. She did the first thing she'd done for the past two days. She looked at the ring on her finger. She had done it, finally done it. She was married to the love of her life with a beautiful daughter. Her life seemed perfect and although that worried her slightly, she was enjoying every minute of her. She turned over and looked at her fiance sleeping. He was the most handsome man in her eyes, a lot of other woman's and some men's eyes as well. That didn't matter because now they were married. He was hers and she was his. She reached out and stroked his face. She really couldn't believe after all the guys she dated, she ended up with the perfect man.
She then saw the clock and her eyes widened in shock. It was ten? How could it be ten? Mel never let them sleep past 8 at the latest. She sat up, frowning in worry. Her daughter had never let her slept in. Ever. She got out of bed and crept out the room. She walked to her daughters room and looked in. Her eyes widened when she saw that she wasn't in there. She walked faster this time to the lounge only to see she wasn't there either. she was really starting to panic and she walked in to the kitchen. She was about to yell for Kable when her eyes landed on a piece of paper. She picked it up frowning though it slowly morphed in to a smile.
She walked back into her room and climbed on top of her sleeping husband. She was sitting on his stomach, wriggling until he woke up. She lent down with a smile and kissed him on the lips. He was her everything, well half of her everything. She sat back straight and looked down at the letter, a big smile on her face.
"Morning Rose and Kable. I hope by now that you have realised your daughter isn't in the apartment. Don't worry, she's safe and sound with me. There's two croissants waiting on the bench and some orange juice in the fridge. You should eat quickly, shower and pack a bag for four days. The shoe by the door is a port key. We suggest going sooner rather than later. Love the in-laws.
Rose finished talking and folded the paper before grinning at Kable. She lent down again and kissed him, this time for longer and harder. When she pulled away she'd managed to swivel so she was straddling him. "I guess we better get ready baby."

It was safe to say that Kable was a happy man, there wasn't much that could happen which would bring down his high. He had not only married the woman he loved, she was officially Rose Fredrickson after all, he had his healthy, beautiful daughter who constantly brought him smiles and laughter, life couldn't get any better. The young Australian had been spending a lot of time at work the past few weeks, there had been an old Kawasaki Motorcross bike which had been brought in to be repaired after a nasty run in with a tree and it was taking a long time to panel beat, fix and repaint but Kable had finally got it done after quite a few extra hours had been put in and his boss had give him the next two weeks off in order for him to take his turn in caring for Mel, Rose earned a well deserved break.
Kable had been sleeping peacefully when he had felt movement against his cheek, his eyelids fluttering but he didn't want to stir, so instead he just returned to his peaceful slumber, the quiet a rare experience without the presence of a screaming child. He kept dreaming in his own solitude until he felt weight against his chest, making the young veela groan as he felt the air be pushed from his lung. "Ge'off," he mumbled, trying to turn over into his sheets but the weight against him was keeping him on his back, "just le'mme sleep."
Seeing as it was no use as he felt a pair of lips against him he just let out another whine in annoyance at being woken before he forced his eyes open, blinking a few times to let his eyes adjust to the bright sunshine which was illuminating the room, looking at the woman who was perched on his chest. "You ain't gonna start making a habit out of this will you? I'd much rather be woken up, you know, the normal way," Kable replied with a grin as he let out a laugh at the wide smile which split his wife's face in two. As she spoke he just listened, raising a brow however at the contents of the letter.
"A surprise trip? Well that wasn't what I had expected when I woke up," Kable said as he raised a brow, wondering what was happening, although as Rose suggested to get ready he just sighed. "Damn rents doing something crazy again," Kable mumbled to himself, already used to the antics of Laurence and Vera, swinging himself off the bed as he moved to the cupboard to change out of his boxers into a pair of jeans, a singlet which he then pulled a cotton long sleeve shirt over, the winter cold already to kick in. Running his fingers through his long hair he pushed it back from his eyes, letting out a yawn as he padded to the kitchen to devour the food which had been left out for him.
Taking the croissant in his mouth he went back to the bedroom, digging about under the bed until he found his gym duffel bag, throwing in a few pairs of jeans, shirts, dress pants and a button up in case of the need for formal attire, a few pairs of socks and his boxers and he was packed. He knew it'd take Rose a lot longer to pack so Kable just moved to the kitchen again, chewing on his breakfast as he poured himself a glass of juice, standing at the island counter as he waited for his girlfriend to get ready. "If you don't hurry I'll eat your share as well babe," Kable yelled out down the hall, knowing that Rose could easily hear them from within their apartment.

Rose smiled as Kable spoke and she moved so he could get up and move. She watched him get dressed, sitting on the bed with a smile on her face and the letter in her hand. This was exciting and she couldn't wait. As Kable walked out she stood and walked to the bathroom. She decided that even though he didn't mind, she would shower anyway. Who knew where they were going or who they were going to see. What if they were really going to spend time with his parents though she wasn't sure why they'd get her mother to take Mel. They loved Mel. She stripped off and showered quickly, knowing that she didn't want to miss anything.
She got out and dried herself, walking back into her bedroom as she dried her hair. She was glad Kable wasn't there, she wasn't sure they'd be leaving soon if he had seen her. She put on a nice dress and then grabbed a bag and starting putting clothes in. She didn't like not knowing where they were going because it meant she didn't know what to pack. She threw in both warm and cold clothes, knowing Kable would never have done the same. She heard him yell and she rolled her eyes. She knew he wasn't kidding. She zipped up her bag, knowing she probably forgot something and carried it out to the lounge where she dumped it.
"Shut up you big oaf. I wasn't going slow, I was merely being thorough. And clean." She shot at him with a smirk as she grabbed the croissant and took a bit. She then grabbed his poured drink and took a gulp. "Mmm delicious." She teased before leaning up and kissing him. "Our parents are ridiculous. Since when do they talk and plot behind out backs?" She asked, still not entirely believing this was happening.
She walked back to the lounge, finishing her croissant and grabbing her bag. She walked to the front door and stood with her hand on her hip, waiting for Kable. "Now who's turn is it to hurry up? I'll leave without you!" She called though she was smiling jokingly. When he appeared she grabbed her bag and grinned. "Shall we?"

Kable had to wonder what exactly his parents and parent in-laws were thinking? A sudden surprise trip, really? The Australian could only chuckle at the thought, they really must have been putting a lot of effort into planning this. As he munched on the remainder of his croissant he felt his stomach still rumble he dug through the kitchen cabinet till he pulled out the cereal box, pouring himself a bowl as he began to eat the nutrigrain dry. Munching on the cereal he watched as Rose walked into the kitchen and he flashed her a mouthful of his cereal with a laugh just to be disgusting before he washed down the dry flakes with a mouthful of juice.
As Rose kissed him he just shot her another grin, although this one was out of love not cheekiness. "Who even knows, they probably have been talking from the beginning knowing Vera. She adores you, and Mel. I think she's glad that I got married early, so she doesn't feel so old herself." Kable laughed as he thought of his step mother back home in Melbourne, she had only been nineteen when she started to date Lawrence, and Kable himself had been 10 at the time. Nine years was not a big age difference between mother and son, most people thought they'd be siblings rather than parent and child.
As Kable finished off his cereal he could hear his wife calling him from the enterance and he just shook his head with a smile, placing the dirty bowl into the dishwasher along with his glass as he went and grabbed his bags, joining Rose at the door. "Of course," Kable said with a grin, grasping the shoe as he felt himself be pulled in by the familiar feeling of magical travelling, never having been a big fan of it as he always preferred his bike. Landing he looked around, having no idea where they were. "Where do you think we are?" he asked, looking to his wife in confusion. Their parents wouldn't send them someone entirely dangerous...would they?
