Katy was cooking dinner, or attempting to at least. She was running every which way trying to make sure nothing burned. This had to be a great dinner, all she wanted was to bring her family back together. For being a terrible cook, the food sure looked nice. She couldn't promise that it tasted excellent but she was quite proud of its looks. She hummed to herself quietly and smiled when she listened to Will talking to Jay. When they passed by the kitchen, she gave him a wink and a smile.
She had a glass bowl filled with rolls in her hands when she heard Don screaming for her. The action made her jump and she dropped the bowl, glass shattering everywhere as she ran toward where her husband was. "Don? Don what's wrong?" She asked, rushing into the living room. Katy gasped at the scene in front of her, Don was cradling an unconscious Bethany who was bleeding at an alarming rate.
Suddenly, the perfect wife and mummy was gone and Katy was in Healer mode. It was, after all, what she did best. She walked over to Don and crouched next to him as she took Bethany's pulse, her heart was racing. Her eyes flashed to her husband, "I need you to grab Will and keep him in the room with her. Say whatever you have to in order to keep him up there, then I need you to bring me back towels and stay on the other side of the room. If she's still angry with you, the last thing we need is that stress on her." Then she paused for a second and looked at her husband, seeing the fear in his eyes for his daughter. "I know you're scared. I'm going to take care of her, okay?"
Katy began to examine Beth as she tried to figure out what on earth could have gone wrong. Everything was supposed to have gone smoothly according to the conversations she had with Jay. Whatever this was, there had been signs of it before and Bethany hadn't told anyone. She had possibly cost the lives of herself and her child by not telling anyone. It was difficult to be able to do all of the things she did without the equipment at the hospital, Katy had to go far back into her training to think of symptoms and then a diagnosis. Only one thing seemed to fit and it wasn't good.
She heard another body join her and Beth in the room and she looked up to see Jay. Bethany's body was covered by the couch and that gave Katy a few extra seconds to warm him. She needed his help, but if he couldn't handle it, then she would be forced to do it on her own. She quickly stood and grasped his arms. "I'm giving it to you straight here, okay, Jay? Bethany is unconscious. The placenta must had detached and it's not good. If we don't wake her up, deliver the baby and fix her up, we're going to lose both of them." She looked him dead in the eye. "I can't have you scaring her, when she wakes up she'll already be afraid and if you're panicked, you'll make it worse. Are you okay to help or do I need to send you away?"
Katy waited for his answer and began to back up from him, back to Bethany. "Don't panic when you see her. Don't panic. I need you to wake her up." The blonde kneeled back down beside Bethany, her new dress being stained with the other girl's blood. Where the hell was Don?!

It was a simple thing, the love you held for a child. It was something untainted and pure, wholesome and selfless. Jay wasn't even a father yet but he still loved his unborn child more than anything in the world par maybe Bethany and his father, god rest his soul. Looking at Jenna he knew that she was loved dearly by her family, but he had picked up on the fact that Katy still refused to call her own daughter's name out. It was sad really, Jay had heard only briefly from Katy about her past abuse which she had received as a child from her father.
Jay heard the scream for help from downstairs and his instincts immediately kicked in, his training kicking in as he rushed from the room back down the stairs to where the commotion was happening. Seeing Katy looking as she would at Mungos, work mode something was definitely not good. "What happened?" Jay questioned as calmly as he could but the panic which was rising churned his stomach and twisted it in knots. He hoped that it wasn't anything serious...
The news wasn't good at all. Listening to Katy explain the situation Jay felt sick to the stomach, he knew what that meant, the placenta...his baby... He had to take in a few breaths of air as he tried to calm his heart which was racing a mile a minute in fear and shock. This couldn't be happening, it shouldn't be happening. Jay had taken every precaution to make sure this didn't happen, that there would be no complications, no accidents like this... Fat lot of good all that effort went to then. Despite that though, his first priority was getting Beth and their son through this, alive.
All he could do was steel his expression and heart before he nodded. He knew and understood what Katy was saying, and he knew he had to do it. Jay needed to detach himself from this, think of it like any other patient not his girlfriend and child. "I'm fine, give me some credit," Jay said cooly, although on the inside he was freaking out. Leaving the room he knew what he needed as he began to search for potions in the medicine cabinet, finding pain relieves, blood replenishers and some simple nutrient potions for the baby, just to keep up the levels.
Moving back to the living room with them he had to cringe at the sight of Bethany, the blood which was pouring around her and the pale skin of her face which was slowly contorting into pain. This was not good, not good at all.
Grabbing his wand, thankful he had brought it with him he transfigured a lead pencil he found in the kitchen into a syringe, thankful that the ingredients in these potions were of no risk to the baby, thankfully. Worst case scenario though, if something were to go terribly wrong Jay wouldn't be able to do much potion wise to ease the pain or his childs' pain else he'd endanger their lives with the effects of such strong potions. Filling up the vial with the dark potion he found the vein in Bethanys' arm, injecting the liquid before repeating that with the other two potions. All he could do was hope that this was going to end well, Jay wasn't sure he could survive on his own again...

Katy watched as Jay began to work on Bethany, his mind was elsewhere. Focusing on his work or praying he wouldn't lose the woman he loved nor his child, she didn't know. The carpet was slowly being stained with Beth's blood and Katy was glad she was unconscious, the last thing they needed was for Bethany to struggle while they tried to help her. Katy couldn't help but wonder why none of them had noticed, Bethany would have been in an awful lot of pain. Had she kept quiet simply because she was afraid? The poor thing had thrown herself into such a worse situation.
"She would have been in pain for awhile be it regular contractions or because of this," Katy said as she checked Bethany's vitals before she used her wand to check the baby's. Katy was going to be a grandmother at twenty-three, the thought both surprised her and elated her. Bethany and Jay were going to be great parents, because Katy would be damned if she didn't save both mother and child. "Did she tell you if she was experiencing any pain or discomfort at all?"
As Beth's face became more and more pale, she started to worry. If they didn't get this baby delivered soon, they were in big trouble. She could only hope that Beth was fully dilated for it was too risky to try and do anything else with her body as week as it was. Besides, if Beth had hidden this from them, she may have gone into labor hours before.
Her hands were coated in Beth's blood and she pitied Jay, this hadn't been the first time he watched his girlfriend nearly bleed to death. Katy paused in her work for a second, glancing at Jay and resting her hand near him. "Hey. We're going to take good care of her. Soon you'll be holding that little babe in your arms and Beth will be as good as new, kay?"

Donovan was scared, for probably what was only the third time in his life Donovan was afraid of what was happening. The first time had been when he had lost his girlfriend and daughter in childbirth, the second was being torn to shreds by Rainer Greyback and finally, this. Donovan could feel Bethany begin to grow cold in his arms, her face was coated in sweat and the blood which was seeping from her thin frame was definitely not a good sign. He hadn't even seen it coming, it just...happening. One moment they were fighting and the next Bethany was unconscious in his arms.
He could only cradle his daughter in his arms, the bulging stomach which seemed too big for her looked awkward as she lay in his arms. "You'll both be alright, promise..." Don whispered to both Bethany and the baby, although he was sure it was also for his own encouragement. He wasn't going to loose Bethany, not like this. They had barely even worked through their issues and she was already like this... Donovan was not going to let anything happen. Thankfully Katy and Jay came down quickly, and Don was given his instructions.
Leaving the room he rushed to get the things Katy told him to, grabbing extra towels just in case and a bowl of hot water. Don knew this drill, he'd been through this before after all, although he just hoped that, unlike last time it wouldn't end in two deaths. Putting all these things in the living room, he just looked sternly at both people there, knowing full well by the seriousness on their faces that they were in healer mode before he moved to his son's room. Picking up Will he ignored the boy's whining and questions, instead just taking him straight to Jenna's baby room.
Settling himself on the bed he put Will in his lap, looking down at the little boy. "Now Will, I have to tell you this, and you need to listen carefully, okay? I need you to stay here and not come out, no matter what you hear you can't leave this room." Will looked scared, although the frown on his face showed that there was confusion there too. "Is it...baddies?" Will asked slowly and Don could only go along with it. "Yes, there are baddies out there and you need to protect Jenna from them. So you need to keep quiet okay? And don't come out until I come back here to fetch you." Will seemed to understand as his face steeled and he saluted Don, "Rodger!"
Don nodded and kissed Will's forehead before he left, making sure to lock the door from the outside as he left. He wasn't going to have Will witness such a scene as the living room if he could, it was bad enough now let alone when she was going to have to go into labor. Moving back downstairs he seated himself in the armchair across the room, resting his elbows against the armrest as he threaded his thick fingers together and rested his chin on them, his face a dark look of passive thought. This was not good, he couldn't do anything at all. Just like last time...

Katy was working furiously to keep Bethany stable. Her face was dreadfully pale even with the blood replenishers and she knew Jay couldn't watch her suffer like this for much longer. Once Don had brought her the things she asked for, Katy began to unfold the towels and lift Beth's legs to place them underneath her. Once that was finished, Katy grabbed one of the bigger towels and quickly got Beth situated to where as soon as she woke up, they could deliver the baby. The placenta was no longer attached which meant the unborn child wasn't getting the oxygen they needed from their mother.
She caught Don watching them from the corner of her eye. She really wished he would go somewhere else. It pained her to see him so afraid, jt made her yearn to make his fears go away. Katy flicked her wand again to check the vitals and didn't like the results she was seeing. Beth's were weak, as assumed, but as were the baby's. If she didn't wake up soon, serious damage would be the result.
At this point, with the amount of blood Bethany had lost, it would be too risky to move her. And if she bled any longer she was bound to go into shock, she only had so much blood replenishing potions. Her eyes glanced up at Jay, "We've got to get her up and get this baby delivered. Jay...Beth is fully dilated. She's been in labor for hours and she didn't tell a soul." The blonde glanced at the young brunette girl and she sighed. For Bethany not to tell anyone she must have been truly afraid.
Katy picked up her wand and waved it around Beth, muttering to herself before she tossed the magic stick off to the side. Bethany would come to any minute now. When she started to stir, Katy prepared herself for the worst way for Bethany to wake up, and that was panicked. "Alright, Jay. Let's make you a daddy!"

Bethany's mind was foggy. She couldn't remember where she was or what was happening. Wait. She had started bleeding and her contractions had hurt more than she thought they should. Her baby. Beth's heart started to race. Was her baby okay? Oh god. Why didn't she tell Jay? He could have stopped this!
Beth hurt all over. She wiggled just a little to feel something sticky all over her. She opened her eyes slowly to see Katy's clothes covered in blood, Beth's blood. This wasn't good. This wasn't good at all. Tears sprung into her eyes and she looked around for Jay, grateful when she found him at her side. "I'm sorry! I'm sorry I didn't tell you. I'm so sorry. I know you told me to tell you if anything was wrong." Tears began to drip down her paled face as she reached out and gripped his hand with as much strength as she had left. "Is the baby okay? Please tell me the baby is okay. Someone?! I'm scared. I'm so scared."
She began to look around again, she found herself hyperventilating. She was about to give birth and she felt as though she were knocking at Death's door. She didn't want to die. She wasn't ready to die. Her empty hand opened and closed as if it were looking for something to hold. "My dad. I want my dad." When her eyes locked with Don's, she reached out a shaky hand toward him, pleading with her eyes for him to come to her. Don always knew how to make her feel safe, and she wanted him to do that now. Of course, she hadn't realized the words that had slipped from her mouth.

Jay was scared, although he shouldn't be. He'd been put through this situation a thousand times over at Mungos, complications always had a chance of arising after all and as a healer he was supposed to have learnt and trained in how to deal with them if something were to happen. He was supposed to be ready for this, he was but god Jay wouldn't have thought that this would ever be happening to Bethany, he hadn't even thought that she'd be in labor just yet! She was early, and in this situation there was risk in loosing the baby, and Jay didn't know what he could do with the little equipment or potions they had, it was dangerous as it was, let alone without all the necessary tools that they usually had on hand when they did birthing.
"A-ah...yeah..." Jay stumbled out, still a little overwhelmed. He couldn't believe Bethany hadn't said anything, didn't she trust him? He had told her a hundred times to tell him if anything were to feel different, to feel uncomfortable...she hadn't said anything and look what was happening now. Jay should have noticed, he should have paid more attention, he should have done something, damn it! He was a failure as a boyfriend, a father and a healer. He should have done better, He should have just listened to Bethany when she said she wanted to stay home. It would have been easier to take her from Mungos from home since it was obvious that this was due to her moving about a lot, it may have even been due to the apparation... Maybe...maybe then they wouldn't be in this situation, and they'd be safe and sound at home.
Jay could only nod, attempting to swallow the lump in his throat as Katy revived Bethany from her unconscious state, this was not going to be good at all. With Bethany awake, and the baby on the way...Jay felt like he should run, he couldn't bare the thought of loosing Bethany or his child, or even both, the risk was so high... He so wanted to leave but he knew he couldn't, it was his duty to be there for Bethany, to be there for her and to be there as her healer too. He had a duty to her...he just had to suck up his fear and deal. Steeling himself he put his game face on, he had to do this, it was time and he was either going to be a father soon or be left all alone again.
As Bethany's eyes fluttered open Jay was by her side instantly, stroking back her hair as she all but sobbed to him her apologies. He just made quiet hushing sounds at the back of his throat, "don't talk so much Beth, it's all okay. I promise, you need to trust us alright? Just leave it to Katy and I and we'll fix you up right away." He didn't comment when she asked about the baby since in truth, he had no idea at all. Katy was right though, if they didn't move now they might not have a chance at all.
Smoothing back the hair from his girlfriend's pale face he let his thumb stroke a line down her cheek affectionately, whispering softly, "it'll all be alright..." Jay wasn't sure if that was really aimed for Bethany's comfort though, as he was trying to convince himself of the same thing. He had no guarantee of how this was going to turn out, and that scared him. "Now Beth...I need you to hold my hand tight okay, Katy will give you directions on when to push...we need to deliver the baby soon alright? The sooner the better." Jay looked to Katy for approval, he was looking at her as his mentor in this, she had far more experience then him in this and she was staying calm which was something that Jay was struggling to do.

Donovan sat, his face passive and hard. He tapped his forefinger against the back of his opposite hand which were entwined in his nervousness, this wasn't the first time he had been in this situation and he had never thought he'd be here again. It brought back memories of the white walls of Mungos, the heavy breathing and screams from the room he sat across from in the acrylic, uncomfortable chair that squeaked with the slightest movement. The memory didn't bring a happy ending with it either, and Donovan could only pray to the god's above that nothing like that would happen here, not to Bethany...
Donovan caught the look Katy gave him and he ignored his wife, for once, instead just keeping his eyes focused down on his unconscious daughter at the foot of the couch. This was going to be tough...was it Don't fault that Bethany was like this? Had he put too much pressure on her and made her freak out? If she died here on his living room carpet...Don didn't think he could live with loosing another child, it had nearly taken his life the first time it happened, let alone what it'd be like the second time.
As Bethany was woken he could hear her pleas, her cries and it struck like a knife in his chest that he couldn't do anything for her. He grimaced as he turned away from the scene finally, he couldn't bare it. He was about to stand and leave, not being able to stay in the room any longer when he heard Bethany's words, turning to look at her outstretched hand to him. Don was shocked...had Bethany just...
He took a hesitant step forward, then another, then another until he was moving with ease again, his moves fluid as he ended up Bethanys' side, kneeling by her side, his large hand tucking a stray hair that Harrison had missed behind his daughter's ear, his other hand grasping the one which had held out. Giving the small, frail fingers a squeeze Don leant down and kissed her forehead hesitantly, not knowing what else to say or do. Bethany had called Don her father...that was the first she had acknowledged him as his father or in general since their time at Mungos...it came as quite a shock. "You're a good kid bub, you're a strong little fighter, just like you've always been since you were just a little babe. You can do this." Don whispered softly, his eyes holding only love and hope for Bethany, although there was still fear hidden deep within the murky hazel depths.

Everything was moving so fast, it seemed as if both of the boys were about to have a heart attack and Katy was the only calm one in the room. Of course, she wasn’t completely calm, there was no way she could be when death was so close to Bethany and her child. If Katy let them die, Jay would never forgive her. When Beth woke up, Jay was quick to comfort her and explain the situation to her. However, when she asked about her baby, not even Katy would answer her. The baby would be fine…if they acted in enough time. She was beginning to prep herself for delivering the baby when Beth’s voice rang out again. Katy felt herself tense and her eyes dashed over to Don, watching his reaction to Bethany calling him her father.
She let out a quiet sigh of relief when Don made his way over to Beth, comforting her as well. It was good, the poor thing was going to need as much encouragement as she could for the next few minutes. Once everyone was settled, Katy positioned herself and locked eyes with Jay. ”Alright, Beth. On the count of three I need you to push, okay? One…two…three!” When Beth actually followed through with Katy’s demand, she smiled softly at the young girl. ”Good job, Beth! You got this. One…two…three!” Katy continued to encourage and praise the young girl as she pushed until finally a little head was finally revealed to the world. Quickly, Katy attended to the baby, a smile on her lips as she cleared his airways of fluid and mucus so he could breathe.
Katy gave a look up to Bethany, who looked worse for wear. ”You’re doing great, Beth. The head is here. Give me one big push and we’ll get the shoulders, we’re almost done.” With the next count of three, the baby’s shoulders were free. In a moment, the entire body would be free and they would learn the gender of the new family member. ”One more! One! Two! Push!” With her final demand, a piercing cry rang into the air and Katy smiled brightly, tears welling up in her eyes. She grabbed one of the large towels and wrapped the baby up, wiping the face free of any matter. While holding the baby in her arms, she looked down at the tiny face of her grandson. Her grandson. ”Beth and Jay, you have a beautiful little boy. Jay, did you want to cut the cord?” She asked, the tears freely falling from her eyes now as she held the screaming little boy.
They weren’t out of the woods yet, however. There was still an awful lot of bleeding, even more so now that the baby was born. She would give the family a moment to embrace the new member, but her heart raced as she tried to find out how she would in fact save Ms. Gerard.

Bethany let out a cry as a contraction whipped through her. She grasped Jay’s hand and sucked in a deep breath. She couldn’t stop apologizing to him, even when he told her to stop talking. She was just so afraid. She didn’t want to do this anymore, she didn’t want to have a baby. She wanted to go back to the way things were before. The way life was before. When Jay told her she would have to push soon, she shook her head frantically. ”No! I can’t! I can’t!” She pleaded with him, ”I don’t want to do this anymore, Jay. I don’t want to do this. I don’t want to be a mother. I’m not ready. Oh God. I’m not ready!”
Through her panicked state, she couldn’t help but feel comfort when Don walked over to her. He took her hand in hers. Bethany looked up to him with a thankful gaze, giving his hand a weak squeeze. She could see the fear in his eyes and she knew her outcome didn’t look good. Was she going to die? Bethany prayed to God she wouldn’t. She couldn’t leave Jay and the baby, she promised him that she would never leave him again. She had promised when she had come home, she promised. Bethany couldn’t break her promise. When Katy told her to push, her eyes widened. This was really happening. This was really going to happen. She gave a panicked glance to Jay but as soon as the contraction hit her, Bethany pushed with all of her might, a scream of pain echoing off the walls as she squeezed the hands of Don and Jay.
Her breathing was heavy when she relaxed again and every time Katy told her to push, Bethany followed. It felt like her insides were being ripped apart and her screams echoed that pain. ”Yousuckyousuckyousuckyousuck!” She hissed to Jay. ”Oh God, I hate you!” She cried. Beth thought that the pushing would never end, but when Katy told her once more, she did with all of her might, all the while screaming profanities at her boyfriend beside her. However, when the crying of a baby erupted in the house, Bethany froze. The baby. That was her baby. Her child. The baby she had created with Jay.
Tears sprung into her eyes when Katy announced that they had a little boy. A son. A little tiny boy that was now theirs. When Bethany caught sight of the baby, all bundled up in Katy’s arms, her heart filled with love. That unconditional love that she knew her parents had had for her. Her breathing was in pants as she stared wide-eyed at her little boy. Her and Jay had never even gotten around to talking about names in the months she had been pregnant. ”Nathaniel,” she gasped out, laying her head down and closing her eyes. ”After…after your dad. Nathaniel.”

Donovan held Bethany's hand in his as he stuck by her side, looking up to Katy for any support he could get from his wife, any indication that this would be alright, that everything would end up okay...Katy didn't say or do anything to assure Bethany so Donovan could only steel his face and hope for the best. This wasn't a good situation, there wasn't any medicine or machines that were needed to monitor the baby or any indicators from monitors that kept the doctors reassured on the safety of both mother and baby. No, they were going on guess work here, and if they did want to check they'd have to do it manually with wands every time. One slip up, one little miss of information and this could all go array.
And then the birthing started and Don could only hold her hand tightly as she screamed out bloody murder at the baby that was literally ripping her from the inside out. It wasn't like there was a lot of time to do this too, she had been fully dilated and that baby was ready to be born whether Bethany wanted them to or not. He felt like chuckling as she all but cussed at her boyfriend (who Don still wouldn't ever approve of) but he refrained from doing so. This wasn't the time nor the place to laugh at the misfortunes of Jay Harrison.
He could only watch as it was all over and Katy had a tiny baby bundled up in her arms. The realization hit him like tonne of bricks. He was officially a grandparents now...at 33. He had a grandson, a little boy...Nathaniel. Nate. Don felt tears spring to eyes, just as they had when he had first laid eyes on Jenna too. Babies, life brought into this world were a miracle in their own and the God believing Frenchman could only bless the heavens above for the tiny baby that was delivered safely. "Merci seigneur..." Don whispered out softly, so glad that this whole ordeal was over with now.

Jay could only help Bethany, keeping her legs apart and holding her hand, the other resting on her knee, pulling outwards towards his side to help Katy get better access as she was down by the entrance. He listened to Katy's instructions to Bethany on when to push as when she did he kissed her forehead, whispering words of encouragement and sweet nothings to try and soothe his girlfriend who was obviously in a whole lot of pain. That was only a given though, Bethany was pushing out a living human the size of a small melon from her uterus, of course it was going to damn well hurt like a mother fucker.
"Yes, yes, hate me all you want," Jay said with a roll of his eyes but the smile on his lips betrayed his sarcastic tone for the love he felt for the woman who was currently giving birth to their child. "You know you love me, once this is all over," Jay commented lightly, trying to keep the mood light even though it was potentially a dangerous and dire situation. Kissing her temple he brushed the sweat from her pale face with a damp towel, patting it against her warm skin which was slightly flushed from the strenuous task of pushing out this baby. "You can do this Beth, come on. I know you can do this."
At the sound of cries which piercing the air Jay sucked in a breath of wonder. He had heard a million babies cry before, the Maternity ward in Mungos had to be warded with silencing charms because they could be so loud, but this was different. This was the sound of his...son as Katy announced. His son. Jay was a father, he had a little baby boy with Bethany. Jay could only gape as he watched Katy bundle up the tiny baby who was still covered in blood. At Katy's suggestion Jay sprung into action, using his wand to severe the tie between Bethany and their son and sealing it off with a quick charm, it was the only sterile way to do it.
Hearing his girlfriend's suggestion at the name of their son Jay felt fresh tears spring to his eyes, he didn't know what to say. To name their son after his father...it was a big thing and Jay felt touched that Bethany would suggest that, they hadn't really talked about names too much since they argued quite a lot over it. "O-Okay..." Jay chocked out, giving the hand which held Bethany's another tight squeeze. He paused for a moment before breathing out, "If he's named after my father you should name him after your father - well your other father. Felix."
Jay bit his lip, holding back the damn of tears which threatened to over flow. "Katy...can I hold him?" Jay asked, holding out his hands. As he was handed his son he knelt down, offering him to Bethany. "Nate, this woman here she's your mum, beautiful isn't she? Even though she just pooped you out." Jay looked down at Bethany with nothing but love in his eyes. That was when he noticed her state and he frantically looked to Katy. "Beth...Beth!?" Jay said as he noticed her fading conscious state.

When Jay agreed to name their little boy Nathaniel, she smiled weakly at him. ”Finally, we agree on something.” When he suggested the middle name of Felix and Beth felt that familiar pain in her chest whenever her…her father was mentioned. ”Nathaniel Felix…Harrison,” she breathed out. ”Nathaniel Felix Harrison.”
Bethany realized how hard it was to breathe. But it didn’t matter about her anymore, it was all about her baby. Her little Nate. Her son. Her little boy. When Beth watched Jay hold their son for the first time, tears gathered in her eyes and rolled down her cheeks. She was still holding Don’s hand tightly in hers, her grasp got even tighter as Jay brought Nate to her. She got her first good look at her son and she began to cry all over again. Then her brain started to get fuzzy, she couldn’t comprehend what Jay was saying. He was looking at her, he was saying something. Her ears were ringing and she suddenly felt very sleepy. A nap, that was what she needed. After such a stressful birth, she could do with her sleep.
Her breathing was shallow and she gasped every time she took a breath. It was a terrible sound. She closed her eyes. Ten minutes, that was all she needed. Was a ten minute nap. It was only seconds after her eyes closed did her short gasps come to and end. The only sound now was Nate’s crying. Her heart, which had been beating so frantically only moments ago had stopped. The hand holding Don’s went limp and it smacked down to the floor with an eerie sound.

It was obvious something was wrong with Bethany, something just wasn't...right. It was the pale color in her checks, the labored breathing, the gasps of her lungs, her weak and frail body, the trembling, the unfocused eyes, none of them were very good signs at all. Something wasn't right, and Jay was increasingly growing worried and then, seeing her closer her eyes his heart jumped up into his throat as the sight of her. "Beth, Beth, BETH!" Jay all but yelled, each repeat of her name growing in strength as his fear grew even larger.
He had to hold Nate tightly in his arms to stop himself from dropping him as he felt his body loose it's strength at the sight of Bethany's limp body. Oh god...oh god Bethany had just...no, Jay wouldn't believe it, he refused to believe it. If Nate hadn't been in his arms Jay would have reached over to feel for her pulse as he couldn't see his girlfriends' chest rising and falling which was the usual indicators for life. "N-No..." Jay choked out, tear drops already spilling from his odd coloured eyes, dripping down to splatter against his crying son's face, their tears melting together as they slid down the baby soft cheeks.
"Oh God...Katy please...I-I..." Jay mumbled, stepping back with Nate in his arms, he couldn't deal with this, they had nothing here that could save her, even if they got her heart started again it was the blood loss that was killing her and they had nothing to help stop that. "Oh Dear Lord please save her...please..." Jay whispered out as he fell back onto his backside, the crying child in his arms being the only thing he had left now. Burying his face into his son's chest he let his sobs wrack his body violently, the never ending fall of salted diamonds form his eyes wetting the blanket his son was wrapped in. "Don't let her leave me..."
