Branches cut at his cheeks as he sprinted through the under growth, ducking and weaving through the broken branches which laid haphazardly skewed along the ground, having fallen from the tree tops above. The sound of roars from behind carried him along, his breathing was ragged and his hair was already sticky with sweat, his clothes torn and dirtied with the struggle, tripping and falling wasn't helping his state either. He could feel the throbbing pain in his right arm, the large gash which cut through even his leather jacket meant the sticky liquid which was dripping from the wound stained the grey shirt he wore black with blood. He needed to get out of this area fast, he just needed time to fucking get the hell out of there but it seemed his pursuers were not going to give him enough time to even stop to think as the ground rumbled and shook with each thundering step closer.
It had been a few hours earlier did Phoenix get the call. There had been sightings of a troll up in the mountain ranges and he'd been alerted and asked to deal with the problem which was easy, one mountain troll was easy to deal with, they were rather dimwitted creatures and were easy to lure and confuse with a few simple spells. So with his wand tucked in the wand holster strapped to his arm, his gun in it's holster on his belt and his usual leather jacket and boots he apparated to the area which he'd been given the co-ordinates to. Landing in the area he had expected it to be silent, the troll would have definitely moved on by now but he had found himself in quite the predicament when he landed in what seemed to be some sort of camp...of trolls. Needless to say it had pleased the creatures greatly to see something which posed as food and that had begun the chase for Phoenix's life.
Ducking in behind some trees Phoenix strayed from his current path, tripping on a root as he fell on his side, wincing as his shoulder blade connected against rock, he was going to be black and blue by tomorrow. Seeing a bat come swinging down from above Nix rolled out of the way of the wood, hearing the thump which shook the very ground he laid on as the smell of troll overcame his senses. Not wasting any time Nix was back on his feet, speeding off into the trees. He needed to get to the Ministry, and there was no way he was going to have the time with four trolls hot on his feet.
Pulling out his wand he twisted slightly, casting spell after spell behind him to hinder his pursuers and seeing as the connected with their aimed targets Phoenix took his chance and turned on the spot, apparating to the familiar building, landing in the brightly lit lobby. He ignored the gasps and the screams at his bloodied state, his face was covered in dirt and blood, cuts on his cheeks and forehead oozing with blood, his hair was even coated in it. His clothing was torn and stained crimson, gashes clearly seen through the holes in his outfit.
Not wasting another second he stormed to the elevators, smashing in the button for the third floor and tapped his foot impatiently the entire ride up, the scowl on his face showing his obvious displeasure. Once the metal doors opened Phoenix stormed out from the lift into the crowded office, walking to what he could only assume was the main desk to the place as he slammed his hand down against the wooden table, teeth bared in anger. "Whichever fucker told me there was only one fucking troll up in the mountains needs a serious lesson in investigation since there was a whole fucking family of them there. How fuckin' hard is it to miss that there are monsters the size of houses are walking around?!"
Nix spun around, about to storm off when he came face to face with someone he knew very well and his anger dissipated instantly. His voice seemed to die as his throat clogged up, chocking on his own breath. He didn't know what to do, he didn't know how to act, what was he even supposed to say in this situation? So instead he just stood there silently, there wasn't anything he could say to his brother anyway that wouldn't get him snapped at.
