It was currently her break from her shift so Momo had gone a little ways down Diagon Alley to order herself some ice cream as a treat, her latest book tucked under her arm as she picked out a strawberry chestnut sundae with jellybeans. Momo had always loved sweet foods, especially the cakes that her and Jun would make in the holidays when he'd come home from Hogawrts. It was sad that she didn't get to see her brother all that much but the letters via owl that she received were always more than detailed. Plus Momo had on more than one occasion gone to Hogsmead to visit him too, which was good since both Rei and Masato would come along and it was pretty much the whole family together.
Momo loved her brothers very much, she wasn't sure what she'd do without them. She didn't have very many friends so it wasn't surprising that her brothers would look out for her, they were only worried about her safety and well being.
Sitting down at the outside tables, the umbrella overhead keeping the sun off her face as she pulled the collar on her jacket up high to keep her neck warm, an open book on her lap. As she would scoop up ice cream Momo flicked through the pages, so immersed in the story that she didn't even notice someone approach.

Gabby didn't have to be in to work til later that day. She often worked night shifts because during the day was slow and she'd rather not stand around doing nothing. Of course work wasn't exactly strict on her, she could smile her way through anything but she preferred to be doing something. Just standing around wasn't her cup of tea at all. She decided to go window shopping. She wasn't planning on buying anything, except maybe ice cream and an ice coffee but that was all. She didn't need anything at that present moment, not enough for her to dip in to her savings to buy it.
She instead she walked from store to store, looking at things that interested her. However the main thing that interested her were the people. She came to Diagon Alley quite a lot and the difference was noticeable after the change. The people were more wary and she was sure that there was less of them. Of course that could have been just because but she was almost certain it was because people were now afraid that the one time they ventured out, would be the time a death eater attack would occur. It didn't matter, she could see aurors guarding the street so she was sure that she was safe. If not she was simply apparate away.
She was walking along with an iced coffee in her hand when her eyes fell on the ice cream shop. Now iced coffee and ice cream were her two biggest weak spots. However she seemed to forget about the ice cream when she spotted someone sitting out front. A wide grin spread across her face and she hurriedly walked over.
"Momo! Hey! It's been too long~" She called with a grin before sitting opposite her. Usually she would hug her but she was sitting down and eating an ice cream and Gabby didn't really want to get in the way of that. "How's working in the store going?" She asked as she sipped her iced coffee.

Momo had to tear her gaze away from her book unwillingly to look up at the girl before her, recognizing her as Gabby who she knew from school. Momo didn't have many friends in school as people preferred to pick on the weak and timid Ravenclaw girl, her brothers admirers also gave her a lot of grief so she found herself relatively alone during her schooling years sadly. She had found friendship with Gabby though, something which she was grateful for as at least there was someone she could confide in, and vica versa. Momo treasured those closest to her because she knew that life was unpredictable, and she wouldn't risk loosing anyone again.
"Gabby-chan," Momo said softly, a habbit from her days living in Japan still, suffixes on the name just made everything so much cuter to the young Japanese girl, she just couldn't help it. She loved cute things. "It has been far too long a time since I last saw you, how are you?" She asked, placing a book mark in to remember her page as she slipped it onto the table, instead taking hold of the ice cream bowl to finish eating it up.
"The shop is going well, although no one comes by anymore, what with this fear running through society of this new Dark Lord..." Momo said, a little sadly. She loved books, she wanted people to learn to love books again as in this day and age there was just too many distractions for people to truly appreciate the brilliance of the written novel anymore. That saddened the young girl, as books were the door to another person's thoughts and inner soul, it was a gate way to another world where you can live any adventure you wanted in such clarity you'd believe it were real.
"How is it going down your end? I'm sure the Leaky Cauldron will always be busy, no matter what is to be happening around the place," Momo smiled softly, her eyes alight with happiness at seeing her friend again.

Gabby grinned as Momo called her Gabby-chan, it always made her giggle. She would never get use to it. She nodded as Momo said it had been far too long. It had, Gabby was just really bad at staying touch since she went with the flow and rarely planned her days. She did try and see her friends but she seemed to just forget. She watched Momo close her book and she felt slightly bad for interrupting her. She knew Momo loved to read.
"I've been good. Yourself?" Smiles.
Gabby nodded knowingly when Momo spoke about the shop. It didn't surprise her. Most people wouldn't come here without needing to. It seemed really, that anyone not on the dark side would probably prefer going shopping in London rather than the magical street. Here was far too open for an attack, despite the aurors. She couldn't imagine books were of high priority in peoples minds right now. They weren't on hers but of course that was because she'd rather be doing this outside than reading by herself. Gabby chuckled at what Momo said. It was true.
"I think you're right with that one. The world could be ending and the place would still have people drinking their problems away." Smiles at her friend, "How are your brothers?"

Momo was glad that she was able to catch up with Gabby, it wasn't often that she went out or spoke to people because really, the tiny Japanese girl was slightly scared of people. Not in the sense that they were going to hurt her, or that they were evil, none of that. No, it was just that she didn't know how to act around people, she hadn't had many friends in her lifetime, even in primary school back in Japan she hadn't had friends. Her father and brothers were the only people she usually acted herself around, she felt free and at peace with, her family would never judge her or hurt her, just like Gabby. Gabby was nice to Momo, unlike a lot of other girls, bar Ever who was nice to her as well.
"It's been good, I've just been reading, as you know," she replied in her usual soft, melodic like voice which she almost breathed out, barely above a whisper. She learnt not to speak loudly because it brought her a lot of attention or she'd get picked on if she spoke so Momo just learnt to keep quiet, and to say as little as possible. She was trying her best though, to be accepted by Gabby. Momo did want friends, she yearned for them but deep down she knew she wasn't good enough, just like those girls had always said, she was a hopeless loner.
"Yes, that they would," Momo replied with an amused smile. While she didn't drink herself, her brothers did as did her father but Momo just didn't have much tolerance for it, but she did have the odd Shochu with her father at home but she kept it to a minimum. She didn't like to not be in control of her own actions, she didn't know what she'd do if she couldn't focus or think. "They are good, all of them are in good health."
