Charlotte had been excused from classes once the Headmistress received word about the terribly tragedy that had struck the Tempest family. She and her younger brother, Lucas, were orphans. Orphans at age sixteen and seventeen. How was that fair to anyone? Their parents weren't supposed to be gone yet.
It didn't help that the death of her family was plastered all over the media, Matthew Tempest had been a brilliant Quidditch player after all. Constantly, Charlie was reminded of the aching in her chest. She couldn't bring herself to joke around anymore let alone smile, it was an impossible task and she was afraid she was going to lose herself.
It was up to her to take care of Lucas now, to give him a home and protection until he chose to leave her. Charlotte was going to have to step up and become the parent, that meant getting a job in order to support each other. She could do that, she would do that.
She sat in the clock tower, she hugged her knees as the clock's hands moved, signaling the time. Silent tears dripped from her eyes and rolled down her cheeks. Charlie wasnt ready to say good-bye, she still wanted her parents to be there when she went home for the holidays. They would welcome her and Lucas with open arms, they would love them.
She heard footsteps and she whipped her head to the sound. At the sight of the teenage boy, Charlie rushed into Teddy's arms and began to cry. The pain she felt in her chest was unbearable.

Teddy was bored in the common room, there was nothing to do and everyone else was busy with something or another leaving Teddy alone, hence the boredom. He contemplated going for a fly, but looking out the window he saw that it was way past light and there would be no way in hell that he'd be allowed down on the quidditch pitch to fly so late at night, even if he did sneak down it'd be easy to spot him on a broomstick on such a clear night.
Fed up with all the chatter about homework and essays around him Teddy stood form his seat in front of the fireplace, exiting the Gryffindor common room through the entrance hole of the Fat Lady, hearing her threats to tell the Headmistress that he was out of bed so late fell on deaf ears, Teddy was always out and about roaming, he blamed the Marauder blood in him.
Making his way to the Clock Tower, a place where he knew there would be peace but the place always held some adventure or another. Plus, knowing other students of his year or younger, the Clock Tower was a place for people to go at night to star gaze so he might find some company there as well.
Entering into the clock tower, Teddy was surprised however when his arms and chest were suddenly filled with a familiar head of hair, seeing his fellow Hufflepuff he knew why she was here, and why she was crying. He had heard about her parents, hell it had been all over the papers, and Teddy had yet to have seen Charlie since that time so he had yet to give his condolences to his friend. "Hey now, hey Charlie, it's okay, it's all going to be alright," Teddy whispered softly, wrapping his arms around his friend, feeling her body shaking with her sobs he could only rest his head on hers, feeling her pain with her. "It'll all be okay...everything will be alright."
