Jesse stared at Scarlett as if she'd grown a second head as she slapped herself hard across the cheek. He was seriously debating just leaving but he desperately wanted to know what had caused this anger and why she thought it was his fault. She swore and he just stood there in shock, waiting. He didn't have to wait long as she screamed at him. His eyes widened and his mouth opened slightly though he quickly snapped it shut. Pregnant? The word sounded like shit even in his mind. That couldn't be they'd been safe... except the first night. Shit.
"Hey it takes two to fucking tango!" He said quickly. The blame was not going all on him. They had both been drunk and both got caught up in the whole sex with each other thing. It was not just his duty to prevent this. He watched as she wobbled then sat down, her head between her knees as she hyperventilated. He wanted to rub her back but he knew that she probably wouldn't want him touching her right now.
In fact he wasn't sure he wanted to touch forward. He started pacing as the realization of what she had said sunk in. She was pregnant. She was having a baby. His baby. Wait, how did he knew that? Could it be someone elses? He had no idea if she slept around or not. "Are you sure it's mine?" He asked bluntly and quickly, looking for a way out of this.

Scarlett couldn't breath, she couldn't even suck in any air to fill her lungs. She felt like she was dying, this was terrible. Not even when she had been given the news about the tumor had it shocked her this badly, no she had just cried her way through that, then steeled up and dealt with it. But this? This was a baby, something living and breathing and a part of both her and the man before her... Scarlett couldn't deal with people, let alone a person who was related to her! She didn't have good experiences with family, hell she didn't even know how to be a mother since her own hated her till the day she hung herself in the very house Scarlett was now about to die of suffocation in.
"I...can't...no...no..." was all the came out between her raggedy intakes of air, her chest heaving as she continued to clutch at her hair, desperately trying to think of what to do. What were you supposed to do in this situation..."Fuck...you..." she said between breaths. It came to mind quickly, and she sat up, looking right at Jesse Warrick, the man who had knocked her up as he snapped at her. "I-I'll...get rid of...it...them..." Scarlett said, even though a stabbing pain hit her chest at the thought. A baby...this was probably the only chance she'd ever leave something in this world behind that would actually mean something, but to carry on the Lestrange name...it scared her to think of the genes which ran through her, from her father living on...maybe it wasn't such a good idea to keep the baby.
"Of course it's you, who else have I fucked in the past six months! I'm afraid to say that I don't exactly get out much, I prefer to stay at home!" she snapped as he tried to push off the responsibility. "Look, just get out. I can deal with this myself you fucking pussy."

Jesse stopped pacing when he asked the question, watching her hyperventilate. When she said she was going to get rid of it he felt relief but then a strange after feeling. A negative feeling. He didn't have enough time to think about it. She was speaking again, getting angry and being her old bitchy self. When she told him to get out he was almost tempted but of course he couldn't. If it had been anyone else and anytime, he probably would have. He would have returned of course but in this moment, he would have left.
"I'm not leaving and sitting on a couch hyperventilating is not dealing with it." He snapped back. "I get that this isn't good but there's no need to be a bitch. You're just as much to blame as I am. Now just calm down and we can discuss this." He said.
He stopped speaking and was slightly shocked at what he'd said. It was probably the most mature thing he'd ever done in his life. He sat down on the couch next to her. Not touching but close. So he knocked her up, they could get rid of it, they could keep it and give it up for adoption. It was all up to Scarlett really, she was the one carrying the thing. He couldn't imagine her wanting to raise a child and it wasn't exactly on his list of things to do for the next ten years.
"I'm sorry I got you pregnant." He said, thinking that was probably a good place to start.

Why was this happening, what gods were cursing her with the worst luck in the world? It was official though, Scarlett's life sucked ass. There was no way that she'd be given such a crap life, murdering rapist father, hateful and suicidal christ fearing mother, a tumor that was killing her and now she was pregnant with a possible death eater and A-class dick head's baby, even if that dick head was a good fuck. Having a baby with Jesse Warrick, oh how many girls would be wanting to kill her right now. Scarlett knew what the man had been like in Hogwarts, hell she'd seen it in the papers as well, yet here he was, with her, a nobody.
Scarlett let out a shakey laugh full of sarcasm, oh how ironic that this was happening. What was the chances of her getting pregnant with the only man she'd ever slept with more than once. "You don't get it...you don't understand, you can't understand it..." Scarlett said with another defeated chuckle. She was dying and here he was calling her a bitch and telling her that they were going to "discuss" this. What was there to discuss? Hell, Scarlett didn't even know if she was going to live out the next month, let alone nine months. Doctors said the tumor could just take hold any day She had a year to live but the doctor said she could go to sleep one day and never wake up...if she were to have a baby and she just died one day, she'd be taking that tiny life with her, and Scarlett wouldn't do that. She wouldn't kill her own child.
Watching as Jesse sat next to her she just sat there, all her earlier anger and strength gone as her shoulders slumped, her hands loosely held in her lap. What was she going to do...what were they going to do. She just stared at the wall, unblinkingly as she tried to will away the baby with just the thoughts, just imagine that it wasn't there, there wasn't a tiny life about to grow in her stomach.
Hearing Jesse's words broke that dam of tears which she'd been holding in since she was sixteen and had first been given the bad news. She had swore to herself she'd never cry again, she'd be stronger than this. Yet there she was, crying helplessly and silently as tears poured down her face. Burying her face into her hands she just let the sobs rack her thin frame, her hiccups muffled by her hands. "Oh god...what will I do..." she whispered to herself, bringing her knees up to her chest as she curled in on herself, a position she was all too familiar. The fetal position was subconsciously a position of protection from others in all humans as it was the position we were all in when we were in the womb, and it was the only time in your life when you're truly protected.
"...I can't do this, not with how I am, the baby won't survive..." she whispered out, so wanting to just rip it out of her and be done with it yet there was still that protectiveness that she wanted to keep this baby, this was her only chance to ever have a family, one that she could actually find love in. This baby could be her salvation, her freedom from her loveless, abused and lonely life which she led.

Jesse didn't know what to do. He sat there, running a hand through his hair and frowning. What the fuck had he gotten himself in to. This was a disaster. He was confused about what he didn't understand. There was obviously something she was hiding from him. Something that was worse than just being pregnant. She looked very scared. maybe it was just because she'd never had good parents, or so he'd heard. there had been a lot of rumours at school. As he sat down he wondered what to do. He wanted to make her feel better but he was pretty sure that he could't.
Then as she spoke, she broke down in front of him. His eyes widened and he sat there frozen in shock as she cried, harder than he would have ever thought she would. He stared at her as she curled up, the fear rippling off her in waves. He had no idea what to do. He had only ever seen his sister cry. He had only ever cared enough to see those tears. He stayed frozen as she whispered. Should he touch her? He had never seen her, or anyone else for that matter, look so vulnerable. Maybe Dylan when he had been in hospital but that was it.
The next thing she said worried him. Not with how she is? How is she? He was really starting to worry. He moved from his frozen state and inched his way closer to her. He pulled her into his side like he had so many times. This time however he felt a lot more protective than he ever realised he would. He wrapped both arms around her, pulling her on to his lap and rocking slightly. He made comforting noises before looking down, pulling her chin so she looked at him.
"What's wrong with you Scarlett? Why are you so scared. You can tell me." He said softly.

Scarlett couldn't deal with this, her life had enough troubles already in it let alone having to add to that with a baby! A baby that was with Jesse Warrick of all people, why did she have such terrible luck? Had she just been cursed since birth by the unlucky stars? Scarlett could only curse her bad luck, even though she had come to terms with her crap ass life she didn't think she'd ever have to let that crap ass life affect anyone else but herself. A child in her life would do no good, Scarlett was barely going to live a year before she'd keel over and crawl into her grave, what good would abandoning a child in this world do?
Feeling arms wrap around her had Scarlett sobbing harder, Jesse Warrick should not be comforting her, this was his fault, hell he was still here! Scar would have assumed he'd have bolted by now, she never would have expected for him to stick around, let alone pull her into his lap and comfort her. It was a strange yet welcoming feeling at the familiar embrace so she just let herself settle in and cry for all the wrong doings and evil that was in the world, that her child would potentially face with her gone. If Scarlett even lived to see her child be born, who even knows if her body could take it on. Being as sickly as she was, would she even have the strength and nutrients to sustain a baby? She barely ate as it was!
"I-I-I..." Scarlett said, her breath catching in her throat as she tried to wipe away her tears with the back of her hand, the strap of her bra slipping off her shoulder as she sat in the male's embrace. She was forced to look at him, which she hated as she turned away. She had let it slip and now there was nothing that was going to sate his curiosity. "I c-can't tell you. I just c-can't..." Scarlett whispered out, she was so afraid, she didn't know what to do. "I w-want this baby, I d-do but I just...I d-don't know if I c-can..." she stuttered out, sobbing even harder. Oh how she wanted this baby, she wanted to have something which she could love and hold and call her own...a baby that was the living legacy of Scarlett.
"What do I do, what do we do?" Scarlett mumbled, turning to look at Jesse, her eyes blood shot from crying. "What do you want to do?"

Jesse sat there, holding the only person he'd ever cared for more than a cheap slut that wasn't his family. The only girl he'd ever really bothered with. He felt her sobs as she moved on his lap and listened to her cries. He could feel the wetness of her tears fall on his arms and he just held her tighter. He felt this instinctive protectiveness for her. Suddenly he needed to make sure she was safe. Maybe it was the fact she had his unborn child inside her. Whether he wanted it or not it was there and it was half him.
She started speaking and he thought he'd finally understand the problem, what had been doing on. He would know the secret she seemed to adamant on keeping to herself. He would finally be able to help her with this massive problem she seemed to have. He would learn why Scarlett Lestrange was so cold and harsh towards the world because he knew it wasn't all because of her father. There was a reason she pushed everyone away.
Then just when he thought he'd hear it she said she couldn't say. He frowned and sighed. Though she then wen ton to say she wanted this baby and it made something inside him breathe a sigh of relief. Which of course made him question himself. Did he want this baby? Because it was relief, not annoyance he felt when she said she wanted it. Her words made her cry harder so Jesse tightened his grip, pulling her closer to his chest. Then she seemed to calm and speak and as she looked up at him, he lent forward and kissed her forehead without even thinking about it.
"I want you to tell me why you're so scared Scarlett. If we're going to do this, I need to know." He said softly but sternly.

Scarlett was so scared, she didn't know why she was still here, still taking comfort in Jesse Warrick's embrace. Yet she was, and he gave it to her willingly, feeling his strong arms wrap around her had her sobs increase, growing louder and more vicious as she chocked on her own breathing, trying to keep enough air in her lungs so she wouldn't pass out from lack of oxygen. The comfort was nice, she had never been held like this, as if there was only he and her in the world, like as if nothing could hurt her within his embrace...
Scarlett could only chew on her bottom lip, she didn't tell Jesse why she was so scared, she'd never told anyone at all, hell she was sure Dominic was the only person who knew and even then he had been spying on her when he had found out so it didn't count as her telling him. She had never admitted it out loud to anyone, it was probably so that it didn't seem as real, if she kept it to herself then maybe one day she'd just wake up and it'd all be over, no pain and no one to mourn her passing, just...like that. No fuss, no effort just...death.
At Jesse's words Scarlett pushed him away, sliding off the couch as she moved over to stand by the window, the afternoon light which streamed through was fading, there was a storm coming, it was obvious by the ominous clouds which were slowly approaching over the houses. Her hand came up to caress her stomach, there was no bump there but soon, very soon there would be. She was going to be a mother...possibly, who knew if she even had the strength to carry on, let alone with another human growing inside of her!
Without turning to look at the man who still sat on the couch Scarlett cleared her throat and took a deep breath. He had a right to know, not because of what was going on between them, no because he was the father of the baby growing inside of her and, if something were to happen because of her...condition and she hadn't said anything. Well, Scarlett didn't want to be the one to have to deal with the blame and hate for killing her baby...their baby. She kept her eyes to the glass, not daring to look away. "...I-...I'm dying Jesse..." Scarlett said simply, no emotion behind her words just, flat and monotone. She had given up long ago for hope, she just had to accept her fate.

Jesse frowned and watched as Scarlett got up and walked away. He hoped she wasn't going to run because he would hunt her down until the day he died to find her and his child. He might not be prepared for one but that didn't mean he was going to let the child go and grow up not knowing him. However she wasn't running, she was merely putting distance between them. He watched her, wondering what could be so bad that it deserved this. She wasn't afraid about being pregnant just because it was unexpected. There was something else which Jesse wanted to know, needed to know. He frowned as she took a deep breath and he sat forward, waiting for the news.
Then the words which slipped out of her mouth would have made him freeze had he been moving. His eyes didn't stray from her, almost waiting, willing her to leave. To turn around and say that it was a joke and she was getting him back for saying no to sex. However he knew that that wasn't the case because the lack of emotion in her voice, the way she said it as though it wasn't important at all meant she had known for a while. Or she just never cared with the fact that she was going to die. He had to wonder what was wrong with, what could possibly be wrong that the healers couldn't fix that meant she had to die. Was she cursed?
"Why?" Was all he could get out, his voice no longer holding the silky smooth confidence it usually did. It was forced and short and he wasn't sure why. He stared at the woman's back before him. She was dying and she had her baby inside him.
It all made sense now. She was afraid because she wasn't even sure if she would live for 9 months to come, let alone carrying a child. He was torn inside because somehow the idea of having a kid had nestled itself inside him in the minutes he had known about it. Yet now there was a choice. If they got rid of the kid now, it might help Scarlett live longer. It was like a decision between Scarlett and an unborn baby though in the end, he could lose both anyone. He had no idea what to do, say, think or feel. The information was worse than he ever would have expected.
"Do you want to keep it?" He asked because ultimately it was her choice. If she had been healthy and wanted it gone he would fight her but he wasn't going to make her put her life at risk for a child she might not even want.

Scarlett could hear his shock, it was evident in his voice, she didn't have to turn around to know that he was probably slack jawed at her words. Not like anyone knew, and not like anyone cared either so it wasn't like Scarlett went about divulging that information to anyone, it was...personal. She had always had this idea that she'd just pass away in her sleep one day, or die in battle valiantly after she had killed her father and avenged her broken childhood memories, but all of that was different now, that couldn't happen. No, she couldn't die, not with a baby in her stomach growing, she didn't want to be the cause of her baby's loss of life...
"I have a tumor in my frontal cortex that's was detected about a year ago, and by then it was too late, the tumor's too big to remove and the doctors say I've got a year tops before it pushes up further and spreads throughout my body and kills me,"Scarlett explained simply, her eyes still stuck to the rain clouds overhead, and her glassy eyes began to water as the first drops of rain began to spurt forth from the heavens, wetting the ground in wet puddles. Scarlett hated crying, but goddammit since Jesse Warrick had walked into her life not a week before she had found herself much different to what she had been like previously. He had caused her so many issues, problems and anger but now...a child, he'd given her a child, how could she even think to destroy this child.
"No, I want this baby, it's...it's all I'll have left..." Scarlett whispered, wrapping her thin arms around herself as she tried to find some warmth, rubbing her arms as tears streamed from red eyes. "...I want this baby to live on, to have a happy life, live like I never had the chance to..." Scarlett continued, just staring out the window, nothing else could be done so why not just push the depressing thought of death to the side, and instead focus on the brilliance of being pregnant instead. Even if that baby's father was going to be Jesse Warrick, Scarlett might have hated that before, but now...well, she didn't mind it at all.
