Juliet was happy to be off of work, don't get her wrong she loves her job with a passion, its just she was working on three hours of sleep which didn't exactly agree with her by any means. But unfortunately instead of going home and sleeping, which was what she desperately wanted to do she had to go and shop for new dress robes for the Charity Festival for St. Mungos, which was going to happen a month from now. She was going to be organizing the whole thing, something she got by default since no one else signed up for it.
Picking out a black robe with some cool silver designs Juliet put it on and stood in the mirror turning this way and that. Looking up, because something caught her eye, she gasped and turned around. Jason Louis, her boy...ex boyfriend was in the shop.
' Jason?'

Jason was out buying new work robes, the ones he had were falling apart, that was what happened when you worked all the hours in the day. Jason didn’t really mind though, if he was working then he didn’t have time to think about all the things that were going on in his life. Or the lack of things that were going on in his life. Juliet was gone, she had been for a long time. His fling with Aphrodite had ended as soon as it had started, the two just took comfort in each other, they were both in love with other people.
He wasn’t working a real job, instead he was running a bar, he was better than that, and everyone knew it, too. Then there was Molly and Dean, two apparent siblings who had crawled out of the wood work. They terrified them, two thirteen year olds in his care? He stood up on the podium as the seamstress measured him out for his new set of robes.
Life was just insane for Jason, there was so much yet so little going on. Business at the bar was going well; he had a knack for business. Jason couldn’t believe his eyes when she entered the shop. She looked just as beautiful as she ever had, more so, even. She looked just as radiant as she had when they were together, there were no signs that she hadn’t moved on from him. Why would she be stuck on him? She never truly loved him, not like he loved her. Jason swallowed. “Julie, hi.” He said, trying to muster up a smile. “How’s it going?”
How’s it going? It had been almost a year since he had last saw her and all he could ask was how it was going? He was an idiot.

Juliet bit her lip and smiled at Jason not knowing what to do. Should she hug him? No that would be too weird, right? Instead she just waved like the idiot she was and walked towards him. Stopping at a rack of robes Juliet began to leaf threw them thinking that he probably didn't want her too close. However the look he gave her made her melt, but it might have been a trick of the light or something.
'I'm good thank you, you?' She said not knowing what else to say. Why was it so hard to talk to him? Before it was so easy, they talked about everything and anything, but then again that was when they were dating and before she slept with Gabe. She winced slightly at the memory.
'I work at St. Mungos now, first floor for creature induced injuries,' Juliet said with a smile. She really did love her job, sometimes, 'What about you?'
'I like that Robe by the way, you should get it,' She added without thinking, then her face flushed and she laughed a little. 'sorry'

Jason could see that Juliet felt just as awkward and out of sorts as he did. The little wave she gave him proved that, had they still be together he’d have ruffled her hair and called her a dork for that one. No doubt she’d have slapping him on the arm before he pulled her into a lingering kiss. He missed her. He felt as though he was a blind man looking at the sunset for the first time, he hoped that she didn’t notice.
“I’m okay,” Jason smiled, he couldn’t help the glimmer of pride in his eye when she said that she became a healer, she had always talked about doing it. “I’m really happy for you, Julie, you always said that you were going to go into healing,” He wanted to give her a hug, spin her around, he would have once upon a time, but things were different now. She was probably someone elses girl.
His heart broke a little at that thought. “I’m trying to get my shit together this year,” He told her, “I run the Leaky Cauldron. Tom’s old now, gone into a home, he says that if I do a good job of it then he’ll give it to me in a year or two’s time.” He told her, he wasn’t sure that he wanted to run the pub for the rest of his life, but it was an investment to say the least.
Jason grinned and struck a pose when Juliet said he should get the robes. “Well, you did always think that I looked good,” He winked at her, it was his automatic reaction, for a brief second it was as though they were back at Hogwarts and nothing had changed. Then the world came crashing back to him. “Sorry, that was inappropriate.” Jason turned to the seamstress, “I’ll take the robes,” He said.

Juliet smiled at Jason as he called her Julie, the nickname she hates but one that she love to hear coming from his lips. Despite the fact that Juliet hates to be called Julie, I think she would die if he had called her something different. Juliet raised an eyebrow surprised that he remembered what she wanted to be from their Hogwarts years, it was after all...two years ago.
'That's great Jason,' Juliet told him honestly when he told her he might get to take over the Leaky Cauldron, sure it was sad that Tom was in a home, but at least he was doing something with his life unlike so many others. 'That is if you want to run the pub. Do you?' Juliet asked with a raised eyebrow curious as to what was going on in his handsome head, Juliet remembered how hard it was for him to open up and actually talk to someone before, she wondered if he would shutdown now.
Then Jason did something that was so unexpected and so Jason that Juliet couldn't help but laugh as he told her that she always that that he looked good. It was true, she did think that but she wasn't going to tell him that. 'Well isn't someone a little cocky?' Juliet said with a smile. 'Did you want to go get some Ice Cream?' Juliet asked before she could stop herself, but then she was happy that she did, she missed Jason. Sure she would love to be his again, but she doubted that that would ever happen, what with what she did two years ago. She could settle for being just friends.

Jason couldn’t help but notice that Juliet still liked it when he called her Julie, the nickname just fell naturally off his lips, he couldn’t help it. He had loved it from the second she threatened to hurt him if he used it again. He just loved to tease her, back in the day that was. Now…well it had been years since he had seen her. And the years had done her kindly. She was every bit as beautiful as she had been the last time Jason had saw her.
Jason shrugged when Juliet asked if he wanted to take over the pub. “Honestly, I have no idea. You know what I was like in seventh year. I messed up a fair amount over the last year or two.” Jason thought back over all the drinking he had done. The girls he had messed around, the void that Juliet had left him with had been too huge. He had been looking for something to fill it. “I’m just trying to figure out what I want to do with my life.” Jason explained. Has anyone else asked him that question he would have told them to fuck off. It was none of their business what he was thinking, what he wanted to do with his life. But this was Juliet; this was the girl he had been in love with- the only girl he had been in love with. The girl who had broken his heart and slept with some other guy. He was no angel, but she broke him. She ended it and he was too tired to fight anymore. She was the one girl he let in. Still let in, even now, a few years down the line.
Jason grinned when she commented on his cocky comment. He was still cocky, it was him, always had been. When he thought back to himself when he met Juliet he almost couldn’t recognise it. He was cocky, arrogant, constantly looking for a new girl to snog. But then she came along, his greatest conquest. He smiled when she asked him if he wanted to go and get some ice cream. “Yeah,” He stepped down off of the podium and handed the woman some money for his robes. “Ice cream sounds great.”

Juliet couldn't believe that after two years of not seeing Jason here she was face to face with the first man she had ever loved, still loves. She thought that her feelings before had went away but she was simply lying at herself, she always lied to herself when it came to Jason. Like for example, she refused to believe that she still had feelings for him, she couldn't, when they broke up...when she broke up with him, well it left a mark on her. She wasn't the type to get back with her exs they were exs for a reason. She could be friends with them but that was it.
'Well whatever you want to do make sure your happy,' Juliet said with a genuine smile, 'Well that wasn't lame or anything,' Juliet said following Jason to the counter with a laugh. Juliet really had changed a lot since her years at Hogwarts, hopefully it was for the best. Thinking back on it all it made her wince, sure everything she did was valid but she went about it all wrong.
'Really?' Juliet said shocked that he agreed to go get Ice Cream with her and grinned happy that he did. She missed him. When he grabbed his bags Juliet began to walk next to him to the Ice Cream shop down the road with a smile, just like old times. 'So Mr. Bar Manager, what have you been up to for the last two years? Any girl friends?' Juliet asked genuinely curious what the man had been doing.
Blah lame reply sorry Kirsty

Jason felt strange, going out for ice cream with Juliet, in some ways it felt like nothing had changed at all, but in other ways it felt as though Jason was a completely different man. He was, hell, he had been a boy when he dated Juliet, he was young and foolish and he had done what he wanted without a thought about anyone else in the world. He had grown up a lot since leaving Hogwarts. He had to, he needed a job and a life that wasn’t sneaking around after curfew- because real life didn’t have a curfew.
Jason nodded when Juliet told him to be happy. “I am,” He told her with a smile. “And I’m glad that you are, too.” Jason laughed when she called their conversation lame. “Only a bit, but we’re old now, Julie, we get away with saying lame things!” He winked at her again.
They walked towards the ice cream shop. Jason held the door open for Juliet and entered. Jason chuckled when Juliet asked him what he had been up to for the last two years, if he had had any girlfriends. “Nothing much but work really, my Mum got remarried again.” He scowled a little at that. “But not a whole lot else- as for girlfriends… god I don’t think anyone has had that title since you!” He told her. Yes, Jason had had a few flings, slept with a few girls. He was a man, and a teenager, he had urges. But he hadn’t gotten close to anyone since Juliet.
Seeing her again just reminded him how caught up on her he really was. “What about you? Much other than healer training? Time for boyfriends?” Jason was curious, he hoped she didn’t have a boyfriend. His seventeen year old counterpart would want to punch the guy out.
