It was Raven's first day back at school since the attack. Within the past few weeks her life had tumbled into a dark hole. She had gotten engaged to her best friend, attacked by a Death Eater, fallen into a coma and kissed the boy she had a crush on(who then proceeded to ignore her.)
Raven didn't understand why Teddy wasn't trying to speak to her at all. She wrote letters and had given them to Layne to send while she was in the hospital, even though he didn't like Teddy he would still send them...right? Not only did the older boy not answer her letters, but he hadn't come to see her in the hospital anymore either.
A frown was on her lips as she climbed the stairs to the clock tower. It was night and she knew that the Prefects and Heads would be patrolling the halls but the redhead needed time on her own for just a little. The Owlery would have been her preferred choice but she knew that Layne would find her there. She entered the tower and moved quietly to the small balcony, looking up at the dark sky and the stars that smiled down upon her.
She loved the night, it was quiet and peaceful. It made her feel safe which was something that was stolen from her at the attack. Raven had woken up in nightmares since the day she woke up from the coma, it was something that would haunt her forever. The bodies. All of the bodies and the blood.
Her fingers curled around the iron railing and she squeezed her eyes, trying to forget. Here she was once more, the same place she had been only a few weeks ago. Alone, strange, and very nearly friendless.
