Chase could only continue to chuckle at Sky's shock. He could see the tears on his cheeks and he said nothing, knowing the guy was probably embarrassed. He smiled at him and lent against the closest wall. He was an idiot, a huge idiot for thinking something as small as that could make Chase stop being his friend. He really didn't care, people could like whoever the fuck they wanted.
"No I don't hate you you idiot!" He assured him.
He gave the boy a glare when he joked about him dying. If Skylar died then it would kill Chase. He was already a horrible human being, imagine what he would be without Sky by his side. He didn't let it last long though as he heard what followed that. He wasn't even gay? Only bi? Merlin that boy was stupider than he thought.
"You're not even gay! Just greedy! I can't believe you thought I would hate you." He muttered. "Come here you loser." He said.
When Sky was close enough he hugged him. He had no problems with hugging him, as a guy he would never admit it out loud but Sky gave the best hugs. There was just something about them. He also knew that since Chase refused to hug him often he would like the gesture. "So, am I hot?' He asked with a smirk.

He truly absolutely gobsmacked. Sky had been so afraid that he'd be hated, that Chase wouldn't want to be around a guy who was gay or even bi. Skylar had held the fear that people would push him away, that they wouldn't want to associate with him anymore. It was why he kept his realization to himself for so long, pushing it down and keeping it to himself. With his admittance to Chase he realized how much relief flooded through him when he found out his best friend didn't hate him, nor was he complaining about it either.
"Oh..." was all Sky could manage through the wide grin which was on his face. He couldn't believe he had thought that Chase would hate him. Seeing the Slytherin male now Sky wondered how he ever even doubted that his friend wouldn't be there for him. He felt foolish when he realized that he had been keeping all this from his best mate, his brother, his other half of his bromance.
"Me, greedy?" Skylar exclaimed, affronted, "now now, just because I find all people attractive does not amount to being greedy!" He chuckled however in amusement at the statement of being greedy. He hadn't thought of it that way before but now that he had, it was true. It just meant that there were a whole lot more fish in the sea for him to catch. "Of course I thought you'd hate me! I was freaking out thinking you'd tell me to never speak to you again!" Skylar pouted slightly, "I was seriously worried you know!"
When Chase told him to come over to him, Sky hopped off the ledge, shuffling over to Chase and letting the male envelop him into his arms. He wrapped his arms around Chase's middle, relaxing as he realized just why Chase was his best mate. He accepted him for who he was, and that made Sky want to start crying all over again.
Hearing Chase's next words had Sky in stitches, laughing hard. "Oh definitely, I have a big manly crush on you," Sky joked, grinning as he pretended to try and kiss Chase's cheek. "You better watch out, I'll be trying to grab your butt next." He winked at this, glad he could go back to joking with Chase now that he had actually told him his secret.

Chase couldn't get the smile off his face. He was so relieved and it was evident in everything about him. He barely smiled around others, he smiled more around Sky but now he was smiling non-stop. He just couldn't stop it. His friend was an idiot and if he ever did him again he would push him off the tower. Chase chuckled when he denied being greedy, he had found it comical to put it that way and liked that it made Sky smile.
He frowned when heard he had been worried. Did he really think Chase would abandon him for something like that? Really? Why would he do that? Sky was his best friend. He tried not to take offense to it of course, it was a hard thing to admit to anyone he knew but he still couldn't help but feel a slight sting in his lack of confidence in him.
"You shouldn't of been worried, even if I had something against gays I wouldn't leave you Sky. You should know that." He said quietly.
When he was hugging Sky he had to wonder if it was different for the boy. The hug. He didn't feel uncomfortable at all hugging him, why should he? He had done it a lot of times in the past 7 years, why should now be any different. It was when Sky tried to kiss him that he pushed him away laughing. He knew that he was joking, it was evident in his voice.
"Go on, do it, I bet it's the best butt you'll ever grab." He said with a smirk. He really wanted to show Sky that he held nothing against him and that it was all the same.

Skylar could see the frown on Chase's face and he knew his friend was thinking that he did not trust him but it was far from that. Sky added quickly to stop his friend from misunderstanding, "it's not like I kept quiet because I didn't trust you Chasey it was just...I was afraid of telling anyone, afraid of admitting it aloud, because it would mean that it was finally real and I...well, I kept telling myself for a while that maybe I was just imagining things and it just made me freak out a bit..."
Skylar wondered if Chase would understand, he didn't want the older male to think he didn't trust him, because Sky trusted Chase with his life, but it was just...something he had to gather the courage to do bit by bit. The Hufflepuff was hardly what you'd call a scaredy cat but admitting that he had in interest in blokes took a lot of guts and he was glad that he still had Chase at his side through it. "Well at least you took it well, I know a...few people who won't take that fact as calmly as you did..." Skylar didn't want to think of Charlie, she'd be upset if she found out and probably misinterpret it the wrong way. They had broken up and it had hurt Skylar bad, but he had no idea that he'd meet Ben that holidays and stumble upon his bisexuality.
Skylar grinned when Chase shoved him away. "Hey, don't tempt me mate," Sky said, holding up his hands before him in surrender but the grin was still on his face. "Besides, it's not like you haven't touched my arse either so don't go saying you've got the best butt when clearly, mine is." The Hufflepuff tried to keep his face serious and straight but it really wasn't working as he burst into soft chuckles.

When Sky explained his thoughts Chase forced a smile for him. He was a lot better at faking smiles than Sky was because he did it all the time while Sky's smiles were always real. Chase knew it was selfish to be thinking of himself in this moment and he tried to push it away but he was a naturally selfish person. The only time he wasn't selfish was with his mother who had done so much for him that he owed her a lot. He frowned with what Sky said next. He had to agree, there would be people who wouldn't accept it and he knew that would be hard on Sky.
"Fuck em. If they can't accept that then they don't deserve to be your mate." He stated strongly and he believed it. If you could judge someone like Sky on some irrelevant fact then you weren't much of a person.
He smirked when Sky started teasing him. He knew that from now on he had a whole new ball park of jokes to tease Sky with. It was going to be hilarious. When he compared their butts he couldn't help but laugh either. It was very, very early morning and here they were, laughing about a secret Sky had finally managed to tell Chase. Who would of thought his walk would of been this productive.
"Keep dreaming Sky." He joked before becoming thoughtful. "Is this why you've practically been avoiding me for the past few months?" He asked.

Sky saw Chase smile, and he knew it was fake, just as he always did. It was the smile Chase wore when he was forced to enter into polite conversation with someone, like a Professor for example. It usually amused Skylar when he saw how his friend could fake his enthusiasm and happiness so easily, but in this instance it hurt him to see that Chase was upset about him withholding his secret.
"Well it's not like I really care, I have you after all, my love," Sky said, his voice sickly sweet as he held out his arms before him, "Ah Romeo Romeo for where art thou my Romeo?" The Hufflepuff chuckled to himself, knowing his sappiness was stupid but it provided laughs for all. He always acted the clown, it was just who he was and he felt much better now that he could go back to being silly rather than having to constantly worry and hide his secret from his face, because Chase would have easily figured out he was hiding something.
"Psht, admit it, my ass is fine," he drew out the last syllable of his sentence, putting on an American accent as he did so. "Well...maybe?" Sky said with a small gulp, "I didn't want people to find out so I tended to avoid most..." Skylar lent up against the wall, sliding down it till he was seated on the floor, his legs bent before him as he rested his chin on them. "There was this guy...Ben. I met him in the holidays and it made me realize that...well, I was bi, but that realization scared me. It was hard to come to terms with it, so I tended to go off by myself so I could try and sort out...all this." He waved his hand in front of himself as if he were all messed up, and mentally he had been. It was a crazy place to be in, Skylar's head.

Chase could tell that Sky was slowly slipping out of the serious chat they were having. He didn't mind, he was all that comfortable being so serious for so long. It was one reason why Sky was such a good friend. When he started shouting about some Romeo or something he had to chuckle. This was his Sky back, the one he had missed a lot. He was back to being his idiot self and Chase was more than relieved.
When he started being serious again Chase listened carefully. He wanted to understand what had been going on. He really did hate the fact Sky had hidden it from him for Merlin knows how long. Then he realised it had been since the Christmas holidays. That really had been months ago. He sighed before straightening up, he had to stop being selfish and think about Sky.
"You just gestured to all of you idiot. You're one of the most sorted guys I know. This is merely a bitch of turbulence against your broomstick mate. You'll get through it and like you said, you've got me. Not stop talking about it, I hate having to be the deep wise one all the time." He joked giving Sky a slight nudge.

It had been hard to hide that he was bisexual, especially for so long. He had withdrawn his touchy side which usually was what made him act like a stupid idiot with no qualms about how people thought of him, most just laughed and patted him on the back. When he was trying to hide his secret he withdrew from his jokes and instead just settled on smiling and laughing along to others, and on the odd occasion would he pull a prank or something. It was those times that he had spent away from Chase especially and even when they were together, Sky had kept a distance because he knew Chase would know something was wrong immediately.
Seems like the Hufflepuff had been right though, Chase had been suspicious of him, but at least now he knew what had been keeping Skylar at arms length. Thinking back to his actions, Sky felt a bit silly, he really should have just said something from the beginning so that it wouldn't have caused all this between he and Chase. Chase was his best friend, he didn't see how he had kept it from him for so long.
"Ok..." Skylar said with a small smile at his friend's words. He really was amazingly lucky to have Chase there supporting him. Turning to face the Slytherin, Sky just smiled, "thanks Chase...for everything."

Chase smiled as he heard the serious note in Sky's voice though it was a nice serious. He chuckled slightly, still relieved of the fact Sky was only bi. He wasn't dying and didn't hate him. He clapped the boy on the shoulder.
"It's okay Sky, it's a hell of a job being the amazing friend but someone has to do it." He said with a grin.
He then walked over to the tower window and looked over the still night. He took a deep breath of fresh air before turning to Sky once more. It was a late and he was starting to feel tired. He didn't want to be dead the next day if he could help it. He was the most relaxed he had been in ages now that he knew the reason behind the weird Sky.
"Come on homo, lets get to bed." He said with a smile so Sky knew he was just kidding about the homo part.
He walked past, pushing Sky slightly as he walked past and started down the stairs. He knew Sky would follow. They were both going all the way down but he knew they had to walk in silence. It wasn't okay for them to be out of bed. If worst came to worst and they did get caught Chase could say he was escorting the boy back but they both knew the teachers knew they were friends.
"Your secret's safe with me." Chase said as they parted ways before he headed to the common room and finally to be. He lay there smiling in the dark, glad his best friend was finally back.

Skylar just chuckled at his friend's response, he was glad that he had Chase. The man truly was someone he could trust, he should have just realized that sooner than he had so that he wouldn't have had to make the Slytherin male worry so much. He sat there, staring at his feet as Chase stood. He might as well join him so Sky took to his feet as well, wrapping his arms around himself as he felt a slight chill.
As Chase mentioned bed Sky just nodded, following his friend down from the tower. It was a good thing that they're dorms were quite close, Slytherin were in the dungeons and the Hufflepuff were nearby as well. It was dangerous though, they were likely to be caught at this hour so Skylar made sure to keep his footsteps to a minimum as he breathed onto his cold hands. "Night Chase," Sky had whispered out before he had headed off for his own dorms, a smile on his lips.
He was glad that he and Chase were all good, but now it was just a upward battle. Sky knew people wouldn't always accept him and he was willing to fight through that. He was not about to deny who he was for anyone's sake. As he flopped onto his bed, burying himself into his sheets Sky slept peacefully for the rest of the morning.
