Carver sat on the foam puzzle mats which made up the flooring of the playroom, the building blocks before him well on their way to becoming a grand castle. The young boy knew that his mum was somewhere around but he wasn't worried, he knew his mummy wouldn't lave him. It was good to know that his mummy was always so close by since she worked her, and Carver felt that extra little bit of safety because of that. Carver had to wonder though about his daddy, what did his missing dad do if he were here? Carver had heard more than enough stories from his mum about this 'Ollie' who was his dad, he'd even seen a picture but Carver had never seen him before in his life.
It was hard on his mummy though whenever he asked about his dad, Carver knew it made her upset because she'd cry while she spoke and Carver would hug her tightly. No matter what though, he loved his mum and his gramps, Carver just sometimes did wish he had his daddy with his to play with, it would have been fun.
Seeing another child nearby Carver smiled, asking happily, "wanna play?"

Tyger was starting to think something was wrong with his mummy, she kept forgetting him places and the little boy was forced to wander around until he found her. He was beginning to wonder if he should tell his daddy. He couldn't help but think these thoughts as he was in the car with his mummy, she said they were going somewhere new but Ty wasn't quite sure where.
That was when they pulled up to a daycare. Tyger could just barely read but he could make out some of the words. He slipped out of the car and swallowed, he didn't like daycares, kids were never nice to him there. "Can't I just go with daddy?" he asked, grabbing a hold of his mummy's hand.
It wasn't long until his mum was kissing him good-bye and nudging him into the playroom. Ty walked in unwillingly and watched as his mummy left, his hand dropped from the air and anxiety began to run through him. What if she forgot him? What if he was forced to be here forever? He stumbled backward until he found himself in a corner, then he slid down to the ground and hugged his knees. He would just count until his mummy came to get him.
"One, two, three, four, five, six..." he mumbled to himself, watching as other kids played. Tyger hugged himself tighter as he got lost in his thoughts if he was forced to live here forever.
"One hundred and seventy-six, one hundred and seventy-seven, one hundred and seventy-ei-" He was interrupted when a boy who looked younger than he asked if he wanted to play.
"You're not going to knock down what I make, are you?" he asked timidly.

Carver could see that the boy was older than him since he was taller than him. Carved was a little smaller than most his age, his mummy said it was because he was born earlier than he was supposed to so he was little. But Carver didn't worry too much, gramps did always say that he would get bigger when he grew up a little more, Carver just couldn't wait! He wanted to be big so he could look after his mummy and his gramps and his granny. He knew his mum worked hard for him, he saw how hard everyday.
"Of course I won't! That's just mean who would do that!?" Carver said in horror. Whoever did something like that was a bully, no one should do that because Carver knew he'd be upset if someone broke his castle. "Come on, it'll be fun!" Carver grinned widely as he beckoned the older boy over. "My name is Carver, what's your name?"

As soon as the boy confirmed that he wouldn't break what Ty made, the blond haired boy stood up and smiled. "Okay! Let's play!" He followed the shorter boy over to his castle that he was working on and say down on the foam mats. This was going to be fun! Tyger didn't have very many friends his age, there was Liara but she was always mean to him, Rachel was three so she was really too small to do anything fun, her brother was much older than him, but he was still fun and Rayne was like Ty's brother but he was often off doing other things than being able to be with Tyger, besides Rae was old too.
It would be nice to play with a boy his age for once. Or at least close to his age. The boy, whom Tyger had learned was named Carver, introduced himself and asked for his name. "I'm Tyger. Nice to meet ya, Carver." Ty reached for some blocks and began to make a building on the side of the castle, he would make the place where the horses slept! It was called a...stable!

"Yay! Let's play, let's play!" Carver echoed back the other boy's words, his smile like a Cheshire cat as they moved back to the building blocks. Taking a seat on the floor Carver sat with his knees on the foam mats, taking a block to place it atop another to create a tower. He liked to build castles, it was just like in all those movies he watched where the prince rescued the princess from the evil baddie, one day when Carver grew up he'd also be the one to save a pretty girl.
"Tyger, that's such a cool name, like the animal!" Carver said excitedly as he let out a little rawr of his own with a giggle. "I wish I had a cool name like that, you must be so strong if you're a tiger!"
As the two boys began to pick up blocks to build there fortress, Carver looked over to Tyger, asking happily, "what are you building? I'm gonna build a tower where the princess is locked up. The prince will have to save her from the evil magician."

Tyger grinned at his new friend, "Yeah! But my dad calls me Oreo, like the cookie. I think it has something to do with my second name." Ty never really understood why he had two names. Wasn't his daddy happy with just one? He laughed when Carver roared and he quickly began to roar with him. His new friend was fun!
He continued to work on his stable when Carver got his attention again. Tyger looked down at the blocks and added another to the row at the top. "I'm making the place where the prince's horses sleep. Because they'll get tired too and they would want a nice warm bed." The other boy explained his creation and nodded his head, "Are there any stairs or did the magician make them go away?" he asked.
Just as Ty went to add another layer of blocks, a child ran past the stable, tripping over it on the way and shattering it before continuing to play tag with his friends. The blonde haired boy stared at the ruined creation for awhile before he frowned. That wasn't very nice, he didnt even say sorry.

"Oh yummy! My mummy just calls me Carver, so does gran'pa," Carver said happily. He knew that his name couldn't be shortened that much without it just being 'Car', which isn't right because he wasn't a car, that would be silly. "My second name is just Well, like you know, one of those big black holes in the ground with water? Mummy said it was part of my daddy's name."
"That's smart! The horsies need a house to sleep in too or else they'll get sick!" Carver said, a little shocked that he didn't think of that. He should have thought about the horses too, he had been too caught up in the adventure of the prince and the princess. Carver felt a little silly. "Nope, the magician has this special broom which only he can ride which takes him to the top of the tower where the princess is! That's why the prince has to climb the tower to save the princess!"
As one of the other boys in the playroom tripped over Tyger's horse bedroom Carver saw that the boy got up and continued to play. Carver saw that Tyger didn't look happy and, angry for his newly made friend Carver stood to his full height which wasn't much (he was smaller than others his age being a premie baby). "Hey Jack! That wasn't nice you need to say sorry to Tyger for breaking his horsie bedroom!" Carver yelled out loudly at the older boy. Jack turned to stare at him but Carver stood his ground, his little arms crossed over his chest as he puffed out his cheeks, trying to act like cats did to make himself look bigger but he was pretty sure he wasn't doing it right because he wasn't looking any bigger than he was before.
"Say sorry to my friend!" Carver yelled out again. "Alright, alright, be quiet Carver, sheesh no wonder you can be such a brat, just cause your mum's here," the older boy said, he was known as a bit of a meanie. "Look, I'm sorry for breaking your buildings," Jack said before he turned and continued to play with the other older boys. "Yay, Jack said sorry!" Carver said with a little wiggle of his hips in a victory dance, "are you okay now Tyger?"
