Zac hummed along to the small stereo in the kitchen which was playing a playlist of some of his favourite songs. They were all nice and easy melodies which was always good to listen to while cooking up a storm. It was the late afternoon, and there was the monster standing at 6'5'' in a pink and blue polka dot apron which seemed far too small on his tall frame. He knew the family would be over for dinner in an hour or so, and he had so much more to do that he was striding quickly around the wide kitchen; one minute chopping veggies and then checking the quiches in the oven, before stirring the pot of soup. It was going to be a feast, and he knew that the guests would eat more than their fair share so he was trying to over cater in-case there were some hungry bellies to fill. So in total there would be enough soup for left overs, he'd made 4 different quiches, was steaming an array of fresh veggies taken from their garden out the back, as well as a few small side salads. And desert was going to be a caramel slice with home made vanilla icecream. Zac was pulling out all the favourites of the kids to make sure they behaved in the presence of guests.
Hearing a knock on the door, Zac looked to the clock. He heard the kids scrambling and screaming that they'd get it, and the padding of little feet in the hallway let him know that it was Cora who probably made it to the door first as he heard her voice speaking to whoever was there. Moments later, Zac saw who his first guest was. Wiping his hands on a dish cloth, Zac leant over and pecked Avery's cheek. "Hey you, looking good," Zac said with a cheeky smile, "I've still got to change and go and get Kyle and his friend from Hogwarts. So I might need you to watch the house will I go through the floo." Zac checked the quiche again, and seeing as they seemed ready he pulled them out and let them rest on the kitchen bench, although casting a soft warming charm over them to keep them nice till dinner.
