Raven held tight to Teddy’s hand as she sat in the Minister of Magic’s office. Her palms were sweating due to nervousness and her heart was pounding against her chest. Betrayal. She felt like what she was about to do was the ultimate betrayal. Raven now knew where her injuries were coming from and she knew why. As soon as she had found out, she had tearfully gone to Teddy who immediately refused to let her go home. Therefore, she had been staying with her boyfriend at his grandmother’s lately. Raven had met with Teddy’s Godfather, the famous Harry Potter. She had reluctantly told her story and now here she was, sitting in the Minister’s Office as she was about to tell the biggest secret she had ever kept. ”Teddy. I don’t feel like I’m doing the right thing.” She whispered quietly as for Harry to not hear her. ”Can’t we just go home? Besides I-I’m underdressed and...Layne...I don’t want them to hurt Layne. Oh God. What if they send him to Azkaban?” Her anxiety spiked and silent tears started to fall down her face. ”No. No. I won’t do this. I can’t. I won’t.” She immediately got up from the chair in front of the desk and ran for the door. As she pulled it open, a large man towered over her and her eyes widened. She recognized the man as Donovan Maddix, the Minister of Magic. She started to back away from him. ”I’m sorry, Mister Minister, sir. We’re wasting your time. Teddy and I’d like to go back to school now, please.”

Donovan had been doing his rounds on all the floors in the ministry, popping in to make sure everything was running smoothly and efficiently and also just to chat with the workers. He was the minister now, but once he had been just like them, just a worker, and he knew how hard they all worked and it filled him with pride. Long gone were the days when people whispered of a corrupt ministry, and now everyone there honestly wished for only the best for the people of the Wizarding world. Besides, Don also knew it would look good and possibly lift the spirits of some to see him walking around and inspecting things, smiling and being cheery in these dark times. All the while they worked diligently here, out there was Liam Chambre, the rising new Dark Lord who wanted to overthrow their peaceful times. It was becoming harder and harder to suppress the fears of the people and assure their safety when more and more bodies kept turning up...
Don pushed the thought from his mind for now, instead shaking hands with an auror, congratulating him on his latest successful assignment in capturing a newly formed death eater. After a few more hours of this, he received a memo from Harry, one of his mentors and also his heroes, that there was some students in his office who wished to speak with him. Bidding the staff farewell, Don rode the elevator back down to the first floor, his cloak billowing around him as he strode through the atrium to his office. As his door opened, he quirked his brow, wondering why it would open for him (did Onyx put in a new charm?) he saw why. There was a girl, quite young from the looks of it, standing in the doorway as if she were about to leave. He stopped before he bumped into her of course, but he looked down on her none the less with his tall frame. He hoped he wasn't intimidating her, he had been told by Katy countless times his look and physical demeanour could be... menacing at times.
"You sure about that, Miss...?" Don asked, also wanting to know her name, "I heard from Harry that there was quite a fuss to get you two here, and that you had something troubling you. If anything, I would just like to hear your troubles over tea? I do believe that Harry has gotten taken you out of school, might as well enjoy the time away while you can." Don tried to joke, but he wasn't sure it was working well. Damn, it'd been a while since he'd been around teenagers, his daughter was still a teenager, but in his mind, now that she had little Nate...well she wasn't so innocent anymore. Not like this girl before him.

Teddy had been so furious when he found out about... those incidents. His magic had gotten out of control and he'd set fire to the table and the curtains in their little hide away they were in, some spare room somewhere in the castle. It had been tough, for him to not go out and throttle that damn Chambre boy, but Raven had stopped him. She'd begged him with tears in her eyes and it took all his will power to not go punch the shit out of his arch nemesis. But he resisted, and he held her tighter than ever as she cried and shook and his own heart nearly broke from her pain. How had he been so stupid? So blind? How did he not see her pain, her suffering, all the while he was just caught up in his studies for his N.E.W.T.S and thinking of what he wanted to do after he graduated.
After he had gotten Raven to tell him everything she remembered, he owled Harry, his godfather, and probably the only man who could help them right now. Teddy loved Harry, and he trusted him with his whole heart and soul and he knew that Raven would be okay, and that Harry would do something to fix this.
So here they were, sitting in the Minister's office, with Harry there as well keeping them company (or guarding them? Teddy wasn't even sure anymore), and they just sat and waited for what felt like forever. "They're not going to hurt Chambre, Raven, trust me, Harry will help us, and...him. Harry knows better than anyone that people are forced to do stupid things when their loved ones are at risk. It was how Voldermort manipulated so many good witches and wizards back in the first war. "Raven, you have to do this. Be strong. I'll be right here, for you always. Through anything and everything."
As Raven shot up and all but bolted for the door, Teddy stood, about to chase after her until he saw the Minister in the doorway. "I think tea sounds nice, how about you Raven? I'd love to have a written excuse from the Minister for Magic that the reason I didn't finish my essay was because I was having tea with him." Teddy nudged his girlfriend, trying his best to keep her mood light. Maybe if she felt more comfortable then she'd be more willing to speak as openly as she does with him.

Harry didn’t know what to think anymore. He had been the hero and survived the first war but never in his dreams would he be on this Earth preparing for a second one. So many already had died, had been injured. Harry was doing his damnest to take care of everyone but he learned his loved ones would always come first. His children and his godson were the most important to him, he would do anything to keep them safe. He ran a hand through his hair as he watched Teddy sit beside his girlfriend. She was nervous and tearful, Harry felt for the girl and wished he could provide her with some sort of comfort.
They were here to speak to Don about the news that Raven had recieved. It was big news and could potentially change the course of the war as they knew it. They would be able to surprise Liam Chambre and take him down before the war got any worse. As soon as he had heard what had happened from Raven, Harry immediately told Don that they needed to have a conversation. Teddy convinced the redhead to come to the Ministry of Magic and he loved the wonder in his godson’s eyes as they had walked about.
He was leaning against the desk, guarding the kids from any harm but also being present to help Don plan after the information was given. The Minister was busy lately, what with his kids being saved and finding out there was another on the way. He was a family man and Harry could only hope that he would know how to deal with these teens. It seemed Raven was very sensitive about the topic of her brother, they needed to be careful or she would clam up and not reveal anything. He knew the feeling, he had been in those shoes more than once.
Raven panicked and ran for the door and Harry tensed to go after her. Don was in front of her and he watched as she backed up in terror. Harry went forward and lead her back to her seat with a friendly shoulder squeeze, hoping to make her feel more comfortable. Teddy spoke to try to light the mood and Harry smiled, he had gotten that trait from his mother. ”Good morning, Don. Congratulations on the baby announcement.” He chuckled, ”What is this? Number four for you?” Harry looked at Raven with a warm smile. ”Theres no need to be afraid, Raven. We’re all friends here.”

”Layne,”she snapped at Teddy. ”His name is Layne.” She let go of Teddy’s hand and wrung her own. ”So you agree this is stupid? Or are you calling Layne stupid?” She put her hands over her face as she dealt with her inner turmoil. Teddy spoke and she looked at him. ”It’s hard to be strong when you’re about to throw the boy who’s protected you your entire life under the bus.” She whispered quietly.
Raven stumbled back from the Minister with her breath hitched in her throat. ”I-I’m sorry,” she mumbled as Harry lead her back to her seat. Teddy spoke again and she felt a rush of relief go over her with his humor. Her body tensed a little less and she just nodded along with him. Through her eyelashes she stared at the Minister. It was pretty cool that she was here with the Minister about to have tea. Although his demeanor was terrifying, she could tell that he wasn’t an awful person. She could clearly see pictures of his family on his desk and it made her relax a little bit more.
The redhead looked up to the Minister fully and swallow hard. ”I...I’m sorry, Minister. But I...I really don’t want to be here right now. I’m sure you understand.”
