Pippa was so excited. She hadn’t seen Michael in a few days and she had so much to tell him. Some of it fantastic… some of it was more of an obligation. She had been putting off telling her boyfriend about her issues. She wasn’t going to call it an eating disorder because she didn’t see it that way. She knew that that was what was going through Aiden’s head, but she really didn’t have an issue with her self-image. So she didn’t see it that way, she just struggled to eat sometimes. Michael wasn’t oblivious to it, but he also didn’t quite know the extent that it had gotten to. She was a bit nervous to tell him about it. She didn’t want to be a burden to him.
The last few days she had been making the effort to write down everything that she ate. It still wasn’t quite as much as it should be. But she was eating three meals, that was enough for her, for now. But she did have more exciting things to tell him. Her internship at St. Mungos: she loved it. She loved it so much. Her first day had been amazing. Her mentor, Will, was really cool. He was still training too. He let her do loads of stuff for herself, she had barely been in the hospital ten minutes and he had her treating someone! It was great. Pippa was all but skipping down to the group commons to meet her boyfriend.
She had missed him, it had only been a few days but she really had. She felt her heart well up with joy when she saw him sitting on the sofa in the commons. She walked up behind him and put her hands over his eyes. “Guess who?” She said, her voice teasing.

Michael smiled to himself a bit as he sat in the group commons and leafed through the information the dragon reserve in north Russia had sent him. There was so much he was supposed to send there to apply as dragon keeper, but he wouldn’t complain, he decided. This was what he wanted to do and he’d write a good application, do what they wanted to get the job, as he knew he wasn’t the only one who wanted it. But he was a bit distracted as he was about to meet up with Pippa. He’d have never thought it possible that he would be still excited to see her after the considerable amount of time they’d been together now. But that was the way it was. So he jumped only a bit in surprise when he felt her small, delicate hands over his eyes and heard her voice. “I can see my sunshine with my eyes closed,” he said quietly in answer to her ‘guess who’, and smiled. He shoved the files from his lap and reached up, letting his hands travel up along her arms to her neck and pulled her down with the intention of her losing her balance and tumbling over the side of the sofa, landing near him with his guidance.
“What do you want to do today?,” he asked her and kissed her in greeting.

Pippa smiled at her boyfriend’s reply to ‘guess who’. Sometimes he was adorably sweet. She loved it when he did things like this. It reminded her how different he was from that persona he loved to wear. He may have wanted everyone around him to think that he was a big scary Slytherin, but for her he was different. He was kinder, softer. He loved her and she loved him. This year had gone so differently than she thought it would. Pippa squealed when her boyfriend’s strong arms pulled her over the edge of the sofa and all but into his lap. She giggled and smiled up at him, sprawled on the sofa. “Cheeky.” She grinned at him, before sitting up on her kness and kissing him in greeting.
She settled herself at his side, enjoying just being close to him again. “We could just hang out here?” She asked him. She was drawing lazy patterns on his arms. It was subconscious, just touching him because she could. The little hufflepuff looked up at her boyfriend. “I started my internship this week.” She told him, her eyes lighting up just talking about it. “It was amazing. I think I was right to apply. Healing will be amazing. You should have been there, I was there for all of five minutes and the Healer who I was shadowing- Healer Hughes- had me actually healing someone! Like a real healer!” She was babbling, telling him everything a mile a minute.

“You know me,” Michael chuckled at Pippa’s squeal and accusation. He liked it when he caught her by surprise and got her where he wanted her without too much of a struggle. He just shrugged at her question if they should just stay in the group commons. Of course it was fine by him spending time with Pippa. A shiver ran up his arms when Pippa started drawing patters with her small fingers and he had to put his hand over hers to still her motions. He was far too ticklish for her light touch right now. Still one corner of his mouth pulled up in a lopsided smile as he looked at her.
As if mirroring her his face lit up as she talked about her internship. From what he could discern from her quick talking she was more than happy about it. Still he felt like he only got half of what she said. So chuckling he covered her mouth with his hand. “Stop there for a second,” he laughed. “Could you say that again and give me a chance to understand you? I mean, it was great, I got it that far. But the rest was a bit too much in too little time.” As if testing whether she would start talking again the second he took his hand away, he hesitantly moved it to her cheek. “Slowly this time, alright?” It amused him that this internship could have her so excited, but at the same time he was happy for her that she’d found what she wanted to do after graduation. He was sure with her internship she’d stand a better chance to be allowed to go into training there than without.

Pippa stopped tracing patterns on her boyfriend’s arm only when he placed his hand over hers, stilling it. A small smirk befell her features. So he was just that ticklish, eh? She would have to keep that in mind for a later date. She knew that the words were just tumbling out of her mouth but Pippa couldn’t help but be wide eyed with surprise as her boyfriend clamped his hand over her mouth. He was laughing at her, unable to understand her mind babble that was flowing out of her mouth. She blushed faintly, but wiggled her face out of his hold.
She knew that he had gotten the just of what she had said, he just didn’t hear her babbling details. Pippa took a deep breath, calming herself. “Ok…..” She said, her tone a little teasing. “I’ll say it slow enough for grampa’s hearing to keep up.” She teased him, sticking her tongue out. “It was amazing, the Healer I’m shadowing is amazing. He let me heal someone, like genuinely, I had been in the hospital ten minutes and there I was acting like I was actually a healer to this little girl who had been cursed by her sister. It was so cool.” She beamed at him, her enthusiasm hadn’t been dampened by his making her slow down. “Will said that I was a natural and doing great for my first day. I should be with him for the next few weeks. He’s so cool, he knows so many little healing spells that I’ve not heard of and haven’t been able to find in books.” She beamed up at her boyfriend. “I’m really looking forward to doing more work at the hospital!”

Michael breathed with her as Pippa took a calming breath before she went on with her story. "Oh, he's here? You didn't introduce me to your grandpa," he answered her teasing. Not everyone could keep up with over-excited chattering girls. Michael smiled as she said that she'd been allowed to do actual healing on her first day at the hospital. He hadn't expected that and obviously she hadn't either. His smile broadened as she went on. Of course she would be a natural, he'd known that all along, but still he was proud of her that what she liked to do came easily to her.
"Well, say hi to your new friend Will from me then. It seems you'll spend more time with him than with me in the next weeks, huh?" he teased her, the smile still on his face, but he couldn't shake the feeling that those next few weeks would get very long if she would be gone for as often as it sounded she would. He already envyed that healer guy for spending so much time with his girlfriend and seeing her this enthusiastic and happy. She looked so beautiful when she was happy. "Do you think you can go into training there after graduation?" he asked her, interested in what her plans would be. Maybe this was the reason why he hadn't filled out the application for the russian Dragon reserve yet. It would be so far from Pippa and even apparation couldn't cover those distances.

Pippa rolled her eyes when her boyfriend feigned ignorance at her comment of him being old. He was silly, really he was. It wasn’t her fault that he wasn’t able to keep up with her stories. She didn’t think that she was going particularly fast.
She enjoyed telling Michael about her time at the Hospital, and by the looks of things he seemed to be enjoying listening to her. Pippa rolled her eyes when he told her to say hello to Will for him because she would be seeing more of him that she would of Michael. Then she smirked. “Are you jealous?!” She demanded of him, it was ludicrous, hilarious. She couldn’t believe it. Will was the healer who oversaw her training for the next few weeks. Sure he was handsome- really quite handsome- but he was also an adult! And Pippa looked like a thirteen year old girl half of the time.
Philippa shook her head when Michael tried to change the subject to whether or not she would stay at Mungos after graduation, go into the real training scheme. “Nope, you’re not changing the subject.” She reached out and prodded at his sides- which she knew were tickly. She couldn’t help but find the situation hilarious. Him, the gorgeous and beautiful Slytherin Sex Icon that was Michael Allen was jealous of some healer that was teaching his teeny tiny insignificant girlfriend about healing? It was just insane to her. She was grinning at him, enjoying that she had something over him- for once. “You’re jealous of Will? Really?! He’s, like, a grown up. At least 21 or something. He has absolutely no interest in some silly little Hogwarts girl like me.” She tapped him on the nose with a smirk.

Michael winced a bit when Pippa asked if he was jealous. It might be all fun for her to imagine him jealous, but he didn't find it so funny at the moment. He just didn't want Pippa away from him. So he decided to just ignore her comment. It wouldn't get them anywhere if they argued about this trivial matter now, which was only his problem, not hers. He wouldn't keep her from the Hospital if she was happy there, he told himself.
He growled, squirming away from her, and caught her hands in his as she began poking and making fun of him. She didn't really want an argument in the group commons, he was sure, and neither did he.
But he couldn't really help it anymore when she went on talking about this Will. He'd been jealous of him if he'd been a 100 year old healer, who was about to retire. But with that guy being only 21 he felt even worse about Pippa spending so much time there. He hadn't ever met that guy, but he didn't need to, to come to these conclusions. "Of course I'm jealouse of him!" he erupted suddenly, shocking himself a bit. His hands flew to his hair, pulling in frustration. "I mean, how much time does he get to spend with you that I don't? And you'd better not belittle yourself! You're seventeen, even legally old enough for one like him! 21 isn't old! I do know what I have with you! Is it so wrong of me not wanting to lose this?" he said loudly. He'd gotten up during his rant, looking down at Pippa. He just didn't want to loose her after it felt like he'd just found her. She brought out the best in him and he could savely say that with her he felt secure for the first time after his parents had let him down. He turned from her staring at the window that was black from the darkness outside. His blood was boiling at the thought of someone taking Pippa from him.

Pippa was enjoying teasing her boyfriend. Enjoying the absurdity of the whole situation. Enjoying having something that she could hold over him and tease him with for a change. She was the one who usually got teased by the blonde Slytherin. Having a go at teasing him was great fun. She liked tickling him, it tended to get such a good reaction.
Though apparently not this time. She clearly hadn’t said the right thing. She was continuing to tease him- in what she thought was good humour- when he snapped. He was all but shouting at her, claiming that he really was jealous. She hadn’t really thought it was, only that he was a bit huffy about her spending time with another man. Philippa cringed back from him a little. She didn’t really know how to react. He was shouting at her. She didn’t understand. She wasn’t going to be spending so much time with Will. A day and an afternoon or two in the afternoon. It wasn’t like she was spending all the time with him. She was still going to see Michael plenty more than that. She had only been excited about her first day. She hadn’t meant to anger him. Sure the older healer was handsome, but in Pippa’s eyes he didn’t hold a candle to Michael.
He was standing above her, shouting at her not to belittle herself. She hadn’t meant to. Not really, she hadn’t even thought of it that way. She had just been making the point that neither she nor Healer Hughes saw each other that way. He was a mentor to her, and she admired his healing skills. She didn’t want to run off with him, though. He was shouting about not wanting to lose her and she didn’t really understand. She wasn’t going anywhere. She didn’t want to go anywhere. She loved him. Michael knew that. She was a little bit afraid. This was a side of him she had never seen. She knew that he used to be scary. He used to intimidate people, she had seen it. But it was never like this. This was different. He was hurting. Trembling only a little Pippa stood from her place on the sofa and made her way over to Michael. He was standing staring out at the night sky. Her voice was calm and quiet. “Michael, you’re over reacting. I don’t see Healer Hughes that way.” She tactfully refrained from referring to him by his given name. “I love you. I’m not going anywhere.” Her tone was timid, as much as she tried to make it strong. She didn’t want to anger him any further.

Michael stood close to the window, breathing hard from the surfaced emotions and his rant. He supported himself with his hand on the window frame. He didn't want to be like this, but he couldn't really help it. Who would risk losing Pippa once he'd been with her? Surely not him. He just wanted to hold her close all the time, consequently feel good all the time. He winced a little when he felt her hand on his shoulder. "I don't care that you don't see him that way," he growled darkly as she assured him that she didn't see the healer in that way. It sufficed if the healer thought of her that way and Michael knew he wouldn't get any reassurance of that not being the case. He covered her hand on his shoulder with his in silent reply that he loved her too.
He hung his head in defeat and closed his eyes. "I don't like this one bit, Pippa, I want you to know that." His voice was strangely empty as he said it, as if his voice didn't really have anything to say anymore after what he'd just shouted. When he opened his eyes the look in them was still hard. He couldn't shake those strange feeling inside him. He turned around to her, not touching her again when her hand slipped from his shoulder. "I don't really know what to say about this. It's just..." His hand went on pulling his hair again in frustration. He wouldn't, he couldn't tell her not to go there anymore. He'd been selfish all his life, but this would... He didn't even have words for it. Confused, helplessly, apologetically he looked at Pippa, hoping for her to just understand.

She was just waiting for him to snap again. Usually Pippa was the one of the two more likely to ‘go off on one’. Michael usually just took it while she snapped at him because the situation had gotten messed up or they were fighting over something inconsequential, little things. This seemed… well different. They were fighting over a boy. Not even a boy an older man. It all sounded a lot more scandalous than it was. Pippa shook her head when Michael growled out that it wasn’t Pippa that it didn’t trust. It was so silly, so very very silly! “Michael, he doesn’t see me like that, I’m just some kid that comes in and shadows him once or twice a week.” She tried to explain. She didn’t want him to be upset. A small spark of relief flooded through her when his hand covered hers. He wasn’t mad. Good. Well…. He wasn’t so mad that he couldn’t seek comfort from her- or give her comfort.
When the fight left his shoulders, his head hanging, Pippa felt guilt. This wasn’t fair of him. She hadn’t even done anything wrong. She had just told him about her day at the hospital. She wished that he hadn’t even thought of Will that way. She certainly didn’t. “I can’t just stop doing it, Michael.” She said softly at his admission that he didn’t like this at all. She knew that, but she did. And she couldn’t give up something so important to her future. He turned around and she looked up at the much taller male, she didn’t really know what he wanted her to say or do, she didn’t know how to fix it. She had never seen this as a fight. She hated fighting. He couldn’t even get his words out. Acting on impulse Pippa stood up on her tip toes and wrapped her arms around his neck, he needed this comfort, this reassurance that she was there and she was his. “I know.” She whispered. “But you don’t need to worry about any of that.” She kissed his neck. “I’m yours, remember?”

Michael was about to argue again as she said that she was just some kid going to the hospital shadowing some healer. She wasn't a kid. She was a woman. He couldn't imagine who would fail to see that, apart from herself obviously. Still he kept his mouth shut. She wouldn't see reason now anyway when he himself wasn't exactly reasonable.
Out of instinct his hands went to her waist when she wrapped her arms around his neck. Resignated he leaned back until his back hit the wall, sliding down a bit to be closer to her height. He sighed heavily when she tried to reassure him again. "I'm sorry." First things first. He really was sorry that he'd reacted this way, but the knot in his stomach was still there, her words had done nothing to make it disappear. "I don't want you to stop with your internship, not really. I want you to be happy and if that is what makes you happy, what could I say against it?" A sad look befell his eyes at the thought of somehow keeping Pippa from Mungo's. It would be a more than cruel thing to do. Softly he kissed her forehead. "I'm sorry, Pippa, I really am. And I trust you, it's just..." He wanted to throw something, preferably something heavy, out of frustration. Of course that wouldn't help anyone, only him, that he was still able to move something, if not this, then at least some objects. "I don't want to even risk losing you, Pippa, you... mean too much to me," he forced out in a quiet voice. Carefully he threaded his fingertips through her hair. He didn't know a solution to this situation. He just knew that when she next went off to Mungo's he'd stay on Hogwarts grounds and pace restlessly like a tiger in its cage until her return to hear her enthusiastic report afterwards. He'd just have to do his best, as always with her.

Pippa felt Michael return her hug, and a little more relief came to her. She relaxed against him, taking comfort in both him and the moment. She could feel him sliding down the wall a little, he was getting closer to her eye level. Pippa leaned up slightly and kissed his chin. Her hands sneaked up and stroked his face a little, moving back into his hair.
She just let him talk. She knew that he was just having a little moment. He wouldn’t ask her to leave her internship because he knew that she wouldn’t and he knew that it would have an adverse effect on her future. He also knew that she was his. But in that moment he was just a bit more worried about the possibility of some older – smarter/cooler/handsomer/ Pippa wasn’t exactly sure what he expected- healer to come along and steal her out from under his very nose. He was experiencing what Pippa felt for the first month or so of their relationship. Terror that someone better than her was going to come along and steal him- steal her happiness. She couldn’t fault him for having a little moment of insecurity. She stroked his face. “You’re not going to lose me.” She told him softly. “Certainly not because of some healer I see once or twice a week. I love you. Not him.” She leane up and kissed his cheek. “You know that, I know you do.” She ran her hands down his chest. “But while we’re on the subject of bad things…” Pippa took a deep breath, she really didn’t want to have to talk to him about this, but she had made a stupid promise to Aiden and now she had to tell someone what was going on. Even though she really would rather keep it to herself. “Freya made me go see the guidance counsellor last week.” She told him. She didn’t think that she was going to enjoy this conversation any more than she had enjoyed explaining that she wasn’t interested in Will. She had no idea how he was going to react. She just didn’t know.

Michael felt himself calming down again a little when Pippa touched him. Unconsciously he leaned into her touch and at the same time drew circles with his thumb on her hip where his hands were. He felt bad for doubting her and he knew she didn't love that healer, but it didn't change his feelings in any way. He'd just have to deal with it the next time she went away. He caught her hands with one of his when they wandered down his chest and helt them there, stroking along her soft skin. His brow furrowed however when she changed the subject with the warning that it wasn't good news. He felt his heart beat quickening and his thoughts browse through possibilities what she could have to tell him. "She did?" he asked clueless when she told him that her friend had made her go to the guidance counselor. He wondered what could've been the reason for it. He didn't really know her friend, but he had a strange suspicion that Freya still didn't trust him to treat Pippa well. Maybe that had been the reason. He shook his head at himself for jumping to conclusions before she'd even begun to talk. "Why?" he asked, then stood upright again and led her back to the sofa, pulling her on his lap as he sat down.

Pippa felt nervous. She had outed herself, though, and that was a good thing. Now she would have to talk about it. Otherwise she was sure that she could have found ways to avoid the topic for weeks to come. Pippa allowed Michael to pull her over to the sofa, grateful when he pulled her down onto his lap. It was a safe place. It was all going to be fine. Pippa’s hands reached up to fiddle with Michael’s hair. She could feel her heart beating fast in her chest. She was surprised that Michael couldn’t hear it, it was thudding so loudly in her ears. This wasn’t a big deal, she told herself. She was just explaining what had happened. Pippa shrugged at his ‘why?’. “You know that things haven’t been great at home lately.” She told him. It was an understatement. She hadn’t been home since the previous summer because her mother didn’t want her to see the state that her cancer ridden father was in. But that wasn’t the point. She waited for him to nod along with her, or acknowledge it in some way.
“Well I’ve been a bit stressed about it.” She told him, trying to keep herself level headed. She could down play this, then he wouldn’t be worried. Besides, she wasn’t worried, right? So why should he be. “I’ve lost a bit of weight because I haven’t had much of an appetite.” She told him. It was true, she hadn’t lost too much weight, but she was closer to the 90bs than the 100lbs mark these days. “I’ve been feeling sick when I try to eat. So Freya made me go talk to that guy. I really don’t think it’s anything.” She down played and smiled at him. “But you know what these medical professionals are like, tossing around words like, food diaries, eating disorders and all the rest of it.” Pippa threw the last word in as though it were a casual thing. Hopeful that he wouldn’t pick up on it. “The guy made me promise I would tell someone about my visit with him and stuff… so I’m telling you.”
