It had been a rough couple of months for Miss Colombe. She had fought with Dominic and then she had been estranged from him. Finally, he had stepped down as Minister and that was the last Onyx had seen of her best friend, of her first love.
She had finished off work, clearing up Dominic's loose ends. And now she was sitting in Soleil, a restaurant that reminded her of home. She was a regular at the place of French cuisine and tonight, she enjoyed sitting and enjoying a nice glass of un vin rouge. She crossed her legs beneath the table and sipped at her wine, closing her eyes.
Her heart had finally started to heal. It helped by going to Kingsley's grave and speaking to him. He was like a father to her and she had loved him so much. She was sitting and awaiting her meal, having asked for a surprise. When she heard someone approaching, she opened her eyes and sat her class down. Her eyes filled with joy and she grinned.
"Reymont! Mon cheré!" She stood and kissed his cheeks happily. "I did not expect to see you tonight!"

Rey wiped his hands on the small towel by the stove, turning down the gas as he let the sauce simmer in the pan for a few minutes before it would be ready to serve. He looked around his kitchen, smiling as he watched his workers bustle around and make small talk. It was a relaxed environment, Rey made sure of that. He would not push for his workers to rush, for he wanted only the most perfect meals they could produce. Sure, they would be hurried sometimes when there were many orders, but he never raised his voice or scolded them, even when they made mistakes. Rey was not that kind of person.
One of the waiters came into the kitchen, moving towards him. "Sir, Miss Colombe is here," he said, with a slight bow. "Oh how wonderful! Gerard, take over for me will you? Make sure that sautee doesn't burn," Rey said with a cheery smile and a wave, before he exited the kitchen for the dining room. It wasn't a far walk, his restaurant was small but substantial. It had more than enough room to seat people.
Spotting one of his regulars and friends, he smiled as she saw him and kissed his cheek. he did the same in return. "Miss Colombe, pleasure to have you for the evening. What can I get for you tonight? Chef's special?" He asked, that usual dimpled smile gracing his angled features.
