Katy missed her babies. She was lost without them. She couldn't eat, she couldn't sleep. The only time she could rest was when Don held her in his arms and she cried until her body forced her into slumber to rid some of her sorrow. If only for a short while. Don was hard at work, trying to find their children and Katy would only be devastated when he would return home without Will and Jenna in tow.
The bubbly blonde just wasn't herself lately. She held her grandson close when Bethany let her, whispering to the little boy nothing's of her own children. Will would adore Nathaniel when he came home. Her children had been kidnapped by her father, which meant a large piece of her had been kidnapped as well.
Katy worked in silence in Mungos. She went from patient to patient with a false smile as she treated them and checked their vitals. She had done this charade for years, there was no way for someone to realize she was faking it. Except for Jay, of course, but he knew what was going on behind closed doors.
Katy worked herself late into the night, knowing that Don himself would be late to home. She found herself in the locker room changing into her day clothes, putting away her white jacket as she pulled on her coat and wrapped a scarf around her neck. It was getting cold out, she only prayed her father was keeping her children warm.
A tear rolled down her cheek as she came back into reality, realizing she had been staring at a family photo hanging in her locker. There were plenty other photos in her office. She took a deep shaky breath and realized the chatter she had heard earlier had ceased. She turned her head to find two young blondes staring at her.
Kat and Callie, two very good friends of her only a year or two younger in age. She closed her locker and put her purse on her shoulder, blinking away the rest of her tears. "Hope research is going well. Goodnight, girls. I'll see you in the morning."
She began toward the door. It was no doubt they had heard. It was all over the papers, that Donovan Maddix's children had been kidnapped from their own home. Don had nearly the whole Ministry involved in trying to rescue them, even his idol, Harry Potter, had volunteered to join the rescue effort.
