Looking at the books around him, James grabbed the one that he wanted and went to go sit down where he had originally put his bag only to find someone else sitting in another chair beside it. He approached the brown haired boy, and sat down across from him. “You know, you stole my chair.” He whispered with a smile to show he was joking. Curious on what he was reading, he looked down for a title only to not fine one.
Slightly nervous to talk, aside from being in a library and not knowing the boy other than from classes, he didn’t know what to say or if he should say anything. “What are you reading there?” James nodded towards the book.

Skylar had been curled up on his seat at the library, wondering whether or not he should be able to sit like this for the next few hours, his butt was already beginning to go numb on the hard wooden chair. He had just walked over, seeing a bag on the table but it was the only free one in sight so he took one of the seats at the table hoping that whoever had placed their bag here wouldn't mind that Sky had joined them.
As another guy came and sat down Skylar had the decency to blush lightly, dusting his ears pink. "Ah, sorry about that, only one available unfortunately, you don't mind do you? Me joining you that is," Skylar rambled, although he smiled at the end of his words. He had to think the boy across from him was handsome, Skylar had seen him from time to time in classes and what not but Skylar tended to stick to mucking up in class. Even though this was his final year and all the Hufflepuff boy hated it when he was made to pay attention in class, it just wasn't him. He didn't have the attention span nor the patients to sit and listen to someone drone on and on about something useless, Sky wanted to do something fun.
As the boy across from him spoke Sky had to pause, looking down at his book again. He had gotten it out for some reading for his assignment but so far he hadn't even begun to read the first page, his eyes just kept drifting off to look at the sunlight outside. "Something about potions, I'm not quite sure what just yet though," Sky joked, grinning his usual lop-sided smile. Actually, the only reason he was even here was because Chase had threatened to throttle him if he hadn't come to study, his grades were rather terrible and he really did need to pick them up a bit if he wanted to get good N.E.W.T.S.

James shook his head, “No it fine, I don’t mind. I’ve seen you a few times in class, you don’t seem quiet the…studier.” He gave a pointed look to the book. “But potions, can be fun depending on what you are brewing…” James smirked a bit, before looking back to his open book he hadn’t even opened. He liked not being in classes, it was a break, but the library wasn’t the most exciting of places. “A friend of mine.. Nevermind, sorry, cute guy and I ramble.” The darker haired male shrugged and smirked, but didn’t continue his story.
Nodding, he looked at the pages, recognizing the title at the top “It’s pretty boring if you ask me. Just goes more in depth about dark arts of potion making and some guy who found the…the… a cure for some potion.” James gave a smartass grin at his very sketchy knowledge of the book, “I couldn’t keep reading. I gave it to my sister, she told me what it was about.” I didn’t just tell him that. ”I didn’t just tell you that.”

Sky let out a chuckle at the boys words. "Far from the studious type, hence why I've been forced to study twice as hard because I find myself procrastinating far too much." Skylar just shrugged with a lop-sided smile, "only people who are good at potions say that. If you're as hopeless as me with all that chopping and stuff you wouldn't be saying that. It's why I even gave up with all that home ec stuff, cooking nearly killed me, nearly chopped of my hand...on more than one occasion. Dangerous stuff."
Sky raised a brow as the boy seemed to begin to speak before he said never mind. The next words however had him blushing pink but he quickly composed himself with a small cough, looking away from the boy smirking at him. It made him feel hot round the collar and that familiar feelings from whenever he had been in Ben's presence had come back, that nervousness and always blushing like a school girl. He hated that, he was teased enough as it was for his name, he didn't need to act like a woman as well.
Sky just laughed as the boy spoke. The Hufflepuff realised he still didn't know his companions name so he smiled, holding out a hand, "I'm Skylar James, Hufflepuff. Nice to meet you...?"

James snorted, “Yeah, I don’t really care for my classes either as of lately… I’ve found things to be more distracting then I had thought.” He looked from his book in his back to the Hufflepuff with a playfully. Nodding he though back to his own Potions class, he was honestly fairly good with potions. Charms and transfiguration is where he had his own issues. “I don’t know, human body parts are pretty useful with potions… Might have given you the extra credit.” James joked.
Feeling a bit of pride for causing a blush from the other boy, he smiled. “Nice shade of red, goes well the Hufflepuff colors.” He winked, and continued to watch the boy as he pieced himself back together. James got slightly nervous, noticing the flirting was only one-sided he wondered if he had made a mistake. Please be gay.. at least bi. “Don’t take offence, but that little show there…” James paused to think of the word, “was gorgeous.” If you were just a year younger, I’d feel safe using adorable or cute. Not trying to offend him.
“James Halsey, Gryffindor.” James said he took the other boy’s hand, “Nice to meet you as well.” James couldn’t be slightly amused by the way of greeting, he smiled a half smile to show his amusement.

"Definitely," Sky said in agreement to the other male. The Hufflepuff male had to let out a laugh, quickly stifling it though as they were in the library, "I'd have to chop off all my parts then for all that extra credit, my marks would certainly be needing it." Sky gave the other boy a smile, it seemed he had found a new friend. Skylar loved to meet new people, people always fascinated him and it was always a new experience to meet other people, especially if they were from other houses.
At the boy's words he blushed even brighter, cursing his genes for making him an easy target for teasing, he did blush too easy. He always was teased by Chase especially for such a thing, not only was his name girly but his cheeks reflected that at the slightest mention of anything which could embarrass him. "Well that's something good I guess," Skylar said in reply, forcing back his own red tinge so he wouldn't make such a fool of himself before the other boy. "I...uh...thanks?" Skylar said, his blush once more coming back twice fold as he hid his face, looking down at the table.
This guy wasn't hitting on him was he? Skylar knew he was bi, ever since he had met Ben did he stumble upon that little epiphany that he thought that maybe, this guy was hitting on him? "Pleasure then James," Sky said as he shook the boys hand, squeezing it gently before he dropped it, going back to folding his arms across the top of the table. "So a lion huh? Hows that going for you then?"

Snickering, “I’m sure you can find better use for your body parts than a potions class.” James smiled, and relaxed against the chair. James wasn’t nervous per say, but was feeling a bit put out that Sky didn’t seem interested. He looked around, well maybe he should find the kid’s gender preference before trying to farther anything and feel more like an idiot. He looked around, “Girlfriend gonna appear soon? I mean, I need someone else to try and steal my chairs.” James teased.
“Don’t be embarrassed, I like it.” James smiled, “You keep looking away from me when you blush, don’t.” He smiled when Sky begin blushing again, “I’m starting to feel pretty accomplished, with that adorable show you keep giving me.” It was James’s turn to look away, not blushing but too flattered by the choice of words James picked out to use. He didn’t want Sky to take offence if used the wrong term of endearment. “Yeah… You’re welcome.”
James smirked, “Yes, a pleasure. Sky…That’s unique for a boy. I like it.” Suck up much? Pulling back his hand, “Being a Lion…It’s alright. I mean the bravery thing gets the best of me sometimes, like when I decided to flirt with a guy who’s straight.” James gave Sky a wink, so see the reaction he would get before giving in on the flirting.

Skylar had to fight down that blush once more, why was it such a bad trait for him to be such an easy guy to embarrass, it was quite sad actually. Sky was curious when James began to start looking about as if he were searching for someone when the dark haired male spoke and Sky let out a laugh in reply. "Unfortunately no, no girlfriend whatsoever. We broke it up long ago."
Skylar hated that the male across from him was bringing out such reactions from him, in the library of all places. Sure, he himself was accepting of his bisexuality and he was happily embracing the fact that this boy seemed to be hitting on him but it was still a struggle with Sky to admit it to others. He had enough trouble admitting it to his best friend about his sexuality, so it was a scary feeling for the Hufflepuff to think he was acting like this in public with another male, a very handsome male at that too but Sky dare not say that aloud.
"Ah, blame it on the mother who happened to think the sky was looking mighty fine when her kid was born," Sky joked, although it actually was the truth to why he had been named. Or so he had been told anyway. "Ah, well you got more guts than me James, much more than I got anyway." It was true, Sky was terrified about admitting his sexuality aloud. He had never done anything like this with a guy. Sure, Ben and he would lay side by side and occasionally brush arms but that was about the most they had done, they hadn't even spoken about the spark between them. So when James was flirting with him and his words which he spoke aloud to Skylar had to make the Hufflepuff male take a second to think about what he wanted.
Did he want James to hit on him? Did he want to have this male have an interest in him by telling the Gryffindor that he was indeed bisexual and open? These dilemmas ran through his head, but Sky decided to just see where it went, and see whether it would work out well or not.

James tilted his head, gave a gentle smile and spoke, “Not so unfortunate, Love.” Raising his eyebrows at the table, James pursed his lips together thinking of what to say next to the cutie in front of him. He looked up at him, he never really had issues talking with people, but when he got interested and turned down, it wasn’t too abnormal to be unsure what to say or do next.
Looking around, seeing that Sky had, James frowned. “Embarrassed? No one saw you blushing, if that’s you’re worried about.” He attempted at a smile, he didn’t want to be made a complete fool of, and since he was already 80% there, he decided that it was best to quit the flirting, seeing that Sky was getting more uncomfortable. Figuring out that Sky was at least bi, because Sky wouldn’t have let James tease and flirt like he had been, if he wasn’t. “I didn’t mean to embarrass you.” James smiled, showing Sky he was being sincere. Smirking, “The sky is pretty expressive, what you see is what you get. Dark, cloudy, bright…even grey. Even though it can change, it’s still very…readable.” James started to stand up, he didn’t want to continue feeling like a moron who couldn’t grab the hint, so he figured it was time to let the conversation go. He winked after he finished speaking, and walked to the side of the table to where his bag was. “Sometimes having guts isn’t a good thing, Love. But thank you.”
James grabbed his bag, setting it back on his shoulder. “I do apologize again, I didn’t mean to embarrass you.” When walking by, James stopped and whispered, “I didn’t realize you didn’t anyone to know.” before walking away.

Skylar hated that he was acting like a blushing bride, all pink ears and hot round the collar. The boy's words had Skylar feeling like a girl, and he didn't want that because it made him blush like crazy and he really wasn't comfortable about that. Sure, he liked guys and he accepted that within his heart but he wasn't sure how he could 'come out' about that. He was -as you may call it- a closet case who was still hiding away in the dark about his sexual desires.
"Uh...yeah," Skylar said, not even finding being able to joke around like he usually would since the boy before him kept making it all about flirting which, while it made him happy still had him unsure as to what he should do. The Hufflepuff smiled back in return to James' grin, knowing that the Lion was being sincere about his apology which Sky appreciated. It wouldn't do him any good to have James be the type to just be mucking around with Skylar just for the fun of it, that would have been bad.
"I do seem to have an over-passionate attraction to the sky, name sake or not," Skylar admitted with a grin, "it holds so much freedom, it's probably why I love flying so much." Skylar watched as James stood from the spot at the table and walked around to grab his bag. The Hufflepuff was confused by the boy's actions, so much so that he had to wonder whether James had just been flirting with him to fuck with Sky's head.
Skylar kept silent, confusion written on his face. Had he done something to upset James? Did he do something wrong? As James spoke and began to walk past Skylar froze up at the whispered words. James had known? The boy seemed to have figured him out easily, it was almost a shock. No one seemed to notice, well if they noticed they hadn't spoken of it to him at least. As James walked off Skylar grabbed his own stuff, awkwardly holding all the books he had in his arms as he dropped them off at the front desk for the librarian, ignoring the cry of outrage from the books being treated so roughly before he took off after James.
"James, wait!" Skylar called out as he caught up with the Gryffindor male down the corridor, a little flustered from everything that had been happening. "I...I just wanted to explain to you it's not that I don't want people to know...it's more that I'm scared of what they'll think of me, that my friends will start to hate me just because I...I have an interest in guys..."

Walking out of the library, James wasn’t really sure what to think about Sky. He was cute, un-doubtfully so. But with him being nervous about the interest in guys thing, wasn’t something James went threw. When coming to realize he didn’t have an interest in the opposite gender, he never really cared what people thought…to a point.
While he didn’t care, he never was okay if they insulted or said something about his sexuality. When James first came out, he was very defensive about it and if someone said something he didn’t like, he got very physical. With ex-boyfriend too, he may or may not have had feelings for them more than the casual play, it was the words that might be said about them in general that triggered James.
He turned to Sky, and smiled. “It’s not a problem, but you might want to hide it better if you don’t want people to know, Love.” He looked around the library, “And your friends… if they were to hate you, for you being yourself, what type of friends are they at all?” Not wanting to give a guy the same age as himself a lecture, he just smiled. “You’d be surprised how accepting some people are…” he looked to the Hufflepuff page on Sky, “Plus…it’s the Hufflepuff thing to do, being…in all that accepting stuff.” James smirked.
James was about to turn away again, before looking at Sky. “Well this guy as an interest you too.”

"Uh...I guess it's a little hard to hide it when I can blush so easy yeah?" Sky said with a awkward laugh, rubbing the back of his head. It was true now that he realized it, most people would probably know about it if he kept acting like this. Chase had stuck by his side through this, and his best friend was the only one who he had told outright about being bisexual but who knew who else had some suspicion about Skylar.
"Yeah, that's true," Sky replied, knowing that what James was saying was true, what friends wouldn't accept him if they didn't like him for just being himself. "I guess I'm just being silly old me as per usual." Skylar laughed again, knowing that his own cowardliness was a terrible flaw in his personality despite his usual happy smiles and bright laughter.
"I guess it is being a Hufflepuff that you're accepting," the Hufflepuff male said in reply, it was a true fact. "We're all just such wonderful people, love everyone and everything for whatever they are or want to be."
Hearing James' words had Skylar blushing again, it was the first time a guy had hit on him and had even spoken about his attraction to him, what a day! Skylar had never had a guy talk to him like this and truthfully, while it scared him a little as he was absolutely clueless on what to do or say, he actually kind of liked it. "Um...thanks?"

“I like it that you blush so easy, make you looks so bloody innocent.” The darker haired male’s smile never wavered, “it’s a good look on you.” James wouldn’t mind getting to know Sky, more than standing in a library. “I understand you want to keep this a secret, and I do understand…to a point. I would still like to hang out…maybe tonight?”
Remembering that Sky was in Quidditch, he wondered briefly if he could convince Sky to meet him tonight on the pitch. “I usually go out on the pitch after curfew, I wouldn’t mind company if you’re willing.” Usually just to have a smoke and relax from classes away from people. James smiled, “I mean, being a Hufflepuff and all I can see you fitting to your innocent look.”
James laughed, “Alright, your house is full of amazing people.” He rolled his eyes teasing, still holding a smile. His smile dropped to a frown instantly to Sky’s response, after telling Sky he was interested. Giving a single nod, James made a ‘tisked’ sound with his teeth, “Whatever, my bad.”
James laughed a humorless laugh, under his breath, “Okay, I get it. I’ll leave it alone.” While he was trying not to offend Sky, he had been offending himself. He felt like he was in a teen scene in a movie, talking to someone who really wasn’t interested. ‘Uhm…thanks?’ What do I say to that? You’re welcome? Okay, I can take a hint.
He just starred at Sky for a moment, before going back to his original smirk, he couldn’t help be offended how easily Sky dismissed what he just said. “Didn’t mean to offend you.” He gave a half smile, and his tone was irritated, he walked out of library.

"I think...I'd like that..." Sky said, hating but loving that he was acting like this before James, the Gryffindor male probably thought that he was the biggest klutz with the way he'd been acting throughout their conversation. Skylar was not being his usual self, he was never like this, well maybe that wasn't true but James was making him into a blushing idiot and the Hufflepuff male had no idea what to do about it all.
"Quidditch pitch? Sure," Skylar said, happy to know that the place that James had suggested was somewhere he was familiar with, the pitch always gave him a sense of comfort. It was one of his most favoured places in Hogwarts, it was like a safe zone for Skylar to go to whenever he needed to clear his head. Plus, he was there most days with Quidditch practice and his own leisurely flying time too.
Skylar was shocked though when James seemed to be annoyed with what he had said. Did he say something wrong? Skylar really didn't know what he had done wrong. The dark haired male's tone had instantly turned cruel and the smirk which had once been cocky and flirty had seemed to be a little more intimidating. Skylar really had no idea what he had just done to annoy James but it would have had to be something.
"You didn't offend me James, I actually was happy about it!" Sky said as he once more followed James, confusion written over his face. "What else was I supposed to say when someone says they have an interest in you, I've never exactly been hit on before! How am I supposed to react to a statement like that when I barely even know what to do when you flirt with me? I suck at all this stuff, I've never experienced it! Why are you so upset about it?"

James smiled, he get over the fact the Sky was cute just how he acted and looked. He raised an eyebrow, and nodded slightly. He was attracted to the boy in front of him, the blushes James kept drawing from the Hufflepuff were adorable and he wanted to make them happen more. James honestly wanted to go up and kiss the boy, but knowing Sky wanted his sexuality to be kept a secret, he didn’t think Sky would like it to much if James decided to kiss him in the school libaray.
“Alright. I’ll see you tonight then… midnight? No one usually out there by then.” James took a half a step back, as to ease himself away from Sky. He couldn’t help the good feeling he was getting, so help himself out the step back from Sky would help the urge he had to kissing the boy.
James couldn’t help the mood change, it was flirting then it was something totally different. When he walked away, he didn’t really want-nor expect Sky to follow again. He was half tempted to just walk around him, but he found that he couldn’t when Sky started talking. James narrowed his eyes, waiting for Sky to stop talking, some little things got to him, his pride was a number one thing in James’ book.
Looking away, James wanted to calm himself down before he actually got mad. How do I explain it? He relax his eyes, so he no longer looked upset. “Don’t take offence when I say girl. Ever seen a muggle movie? Boy tells girl he likes her. Girl doesn’t care, what response does boy get? Same difference, right?”
Pride? You’re storming off because a word and half. “Sorry… I don’t normally.. uhm, act like this.”
