((I'm just gonna say its been three months since Will and Jen have been taken, because whoo! Added drama! But if you want to change it we can.)) You never know unconditional love until you have a child. That's what people had always told her. The first time Bethany had held Nate, she had been so scared to touch him. Jay had put her hands in the correct positions and told her she wouldn't break him. He always knew her so well. As soon as she was holding her baby, Bethany had been blown away with the amount of emotions that had rushed through her. Soon, she was carrying him around, feeding him, changing diapers. Her favorite moments were when she laid on the floor with Jay and played with their son together. They were a family, one big happy family. But tragedy had hit their family when Katy and Don had announced that Will and Jenna had been kidnapped. The thought of losing her own baby had scared her to her very core. She always held Nate just a little closer, just like Jay seemed to do with her since Nate's birth. The truth is, Beth had become paranoid. Constantly Nate was in her arms, and if he wasn't in her arms, she checked on him every five minutes on the dot. She didn't think Jay had noticed how bad it had gotten. Sure, he noticed when he was home, but when he was gone, it was nearly worse. She would sleep in Nate's room, although she would move to the bedroom before Jay got home, as not to bother him. It was hard when the Maddix's came. The depression in Katy's eyes broke Bethany's heart despite her hatred for the blonde. Whenever Katy held Nate, Bethany got tense, worried the blonde would try to take her son as a replacement. Katy was in a dark place and who knew what she would do. It was another late night in the Harrison household and Bethany was getting tired. She scooped up the sleeping Nate and walked into his bedroom, making her spot on the rocking chair and wrapping him up in a blanket. She held him tightly in one arm and her wand in the other hand. In a matter of minutes, she was out like a light. With the little sleep she'd been getting, Bethany was exhausted.

Jay had been at work, another late night for the young healer. It wans't uncommon for healers to be tied back with work, but it had the young man worried. He not only had his girlfriend and baby at home, but he also was worried about his good friend Katy who was struggling through the kidnapping of her children, and ultimately his girlfriends siblings. It was a tough time, especially with Bethany being so paranoid lately. The smallest things would set her off, make her overprotective. She rarely went outside anymore, even with Nate.
Jay was worried.
Hanging up his white coat in his locker, he shouldered his small day bag filled with his clothes from the day before, having spent last night on the couch in the visitors lounge. There had been a patient going through critical heart palpitations which would happen only then and again, and Jay being their healer had felt the need to stay the night just in case. Now, someone else had taken over the shift for tonight and Jay was going to head home to a warm bed and hopefully, a smile.
Flooing home, finding their small apartment empty and Jay let out a small sigh. He knew were he would find his family, there was only one place. As he walked to Nate's bedroom he couldn't help but feel ashamed of himself. Jay was the man of this family, yet he couldn't even reassure his girlfriend that everything would be okay, and that they were safe and he would look after them. Nothing could console Bethany. She was too far gone. He had already lost her twice, and had nearly lost Nate as well, Jay was not about to let anything happen to his family any time soon.
Leaning in the doorway, Jay just looked onto a tired Beth and in her arms, their sleeping son. Walking over, Jay took Nate from Beth's slowly sagging arms. "Go to bed Beth, I can put Nate in his crib," he ushered, pressing a quick kiss to his love's cheek before he moved to the small crib, gently placing Nate down and placing his teddy by his side. "Night son," Jay whispered with a smile, turning on the small night light before exiting and moving to their own bedroom.
Kicking off his shoes, he laid on the bed with a sigh of relief, reaching up to pull out his hairtie which held those long curls back. "Come here Bethy," Jay said softly, his arms open. All he wanted was to just be happy again, one big family.
