"So you want me to tell you the story of my life?"
"I'm flesh and blood, but not human. I haven't been human for two hundred years..."
"I'm flesh and blood, but not human. I haven't been human for two hundred years..."
Thursday the 15th, 1768
It had been dark when I had first saw him, chopping wood by firelight in the forest. His dark hair shining brightly with reds and oranges, dancing light across his locks. It was captivating, watching him work, it had been the scent of blood which had drawn me here to this forest, deep within it's darkness hiding such a beautiful creature. He wiped the sweat from his brow, a drop falling from his forehead as his tongue darted out to catch the fallen salty drop against his lips, continuing to work despite his obvious tiredness.
It was...enthralling to watch him work, he was merely another human, nothing to me who was blessed by night; a monster. Yet I couldn't keep my eyes from following this human as he laboured away at his trade, wood chopping was, by nature a lowly farmer's life and it was obvious to me that this human would not be missed. He would have a family that would mourn, as did every victim I latched by fangs into and drank my fill - this human would be no different.
I had kept my watch from the tree tops above, just watching the human slave away. I knew what it was like, to work like that. My childhood had been far from...perfect, and the family that had been my own had never once acknowledged my existence as anything other than their slave. But no longer, I was stronger, more powerful than any human alive, all because of James, the vampire who had answered my call.
Tomorrow night, that will be when I would take my pray, but for now, I'll just watch from above, observe his movements and his mannerisms, learn my pray. Stalk them like James had instructed me to do, learn all I can about them before using it to my advantage. This human was no different from the rest, he'd give into his carnal pleasures and his lure, there had not been someone yet to resist...
Like James had once said, Evil is a point of view. God kills indiscriminately and so shall we. For no creatures under God are as we are, none so like him as ourselves.
And so I will be the creature that I am, no doubt adding another number to the list of bodies I left in my wake.
