Chase had had enough. He was an emotionless shell walking around. He saw the looks people gave him, the whispers. He had never cared before but now he was alone. He had always had a least one person love him that didn't have to and that gave him some hope that he wasn't all bad. Now he was alone and there was nothing stopping him from believing he was the spawn of Satan. He had always promised he wouldn't let anyone close. He would get through Hogwarts with only himself in mind. Of course Skylar wrecked that though he was the only one. He managed the walls and it made Chase weak.
Then of course Imogen happened and he was left lost and alone more than ever because he'd loved her. He couldn't admit it out loud but he'd known that he wad loved her. He wasn't mean to love. That much was obvious because now they weren't together. He couldn't believe how cruel he'd been. Everything had just gotten so far out of control. He was scared. Sky was his rock, the thing keeping him sane and when that had been threatened with distance and Noah he'd lost it, pushing away Imogen even.
He deserved everything he got. He had hurt the people he loved most. He still felt the sting of their blatant rejection upon hearing his history. He had known that it was the wrong time to scream it out but the fact Skylar hadn't acknowledged it except for accusing him of it being his fault and broken him. He had kept it hidden for a reason. He'd also seen the betrayal on Imogen's face when she heard it. She was hurt he hadn't told her. Of course he wouldn't tell her without Sky knowing but it seemed that wasn't what should happened in her mind.
It didn't matter now though, he was alone and he deserved it. That was why this was so unbearable. He could handle being alone, he'd been there before. He couldn't handle the fact the people he loved hated him and it was his fault. If it wasn't his fault or if he had pushed them away on purpose it would be different but no. He was alone by his own demise and for once he didn't want to be. He had grown so use to having people around that now he couldn't hack the silence, the fact he was his own company.
That was why he was currently sitting on the ledge of the Astronomy tower, the tallest tower in Hogwarts. There was no-one there of course. Just him. His legs dangled over the long drop and the cool breeze hit his face. The night air was cool but refreshing. Spring was coming and then it would be summer. He couldn't stand the fact that he would be spending it alone. He had planned to introduce Imogen to his mother but of course that wouldn't be happening now. It probably never would. He felt something inside him snap and he stood, his balance shaking as he looked down.
This was it. This was going to be the end. It would be like taking a step. He wondered if Imogen or Skylar would care? It would break his mother but there was a note with his stuff. One for Chandler as well. Maybe his Father would hear about it but he doubted it. He opened his arms as if accepting the world in that place. He couldn't do it anymore. He couldn't be alone and be the monster he was. The world, the school and the people he loved would be better off once he was gone. He took a deep breath when he heard the door behind him open. He turned to look to see who it was, hoping it wasn't a teacher.
