Gabriel was fully healed now, he was as right as rain and it had all been natural, much to his satisfaction. So many people urged him to get healed, to take potions to numb his pain, speed up the process, anything which would stop him from naturally overcoming his injuries and he had refused it all, stuck through the pain and the sickness and had come out perfectly fine. This is why Gabe loved nature, and why he hated medicine both magical and muggle. If he could heal fine without all the potions messing up his body, then why would he bother with them at all in general? Gabriel McRae was as stubborn as they come and when he's set his mind on something than nothing will change his mind, and medicine was one thing he wouldn't budge on.
He was, however aware of the fact that Kingsley, the Minister for Magic had been killed, and that there was a new face rising as the next Dark Lord, threatening to take over. Gabe could only shake his head at this, there was always going to be someone wanting power, always someone out for blood, it was inevitable as that the human race was evil and cruel. He had immediately joined the rebel working group called the Genesis, having attended the meetings at a man called Donovan Maddix's house and it brought up the thought of his little brother.
He wondered how Jacob was doing, they hadn't talked since their last meeting when Gabe had practically been on his death bed, and he hadn't heard word from him since. He had thought they had left on good terms...did Jake still hate him? Had he done something wrong yet again? Was he a failure as a brother? He had tried to owl him but his letters always came back...had he moved? Or maybe he with the new ministry protocols they were protecting their workers from attack...whatever the reason, Gabe felt the need to see his brother, and if it had to be face to face then so be it.
Apparating to the Ministry he had to go through a series of test and charms and wards, obviously checking him for hidden spells, or ill intentions before they deemed him clear and he was able to enter into the dark atrium of the Ministry and make his way to the appropriate floor. From what he could remember, his brother was an auror but when Gabriel rocked up at the floor an older woman had snapped at him that Jacob McRae wasn't there and that he'd gone to the 8th floor instead. So, making his way up Gabe stood awkwardly squished into the elevator, wringing his hands in nervousness, he could only hope to god this would end well.
Stepping out, his eyes scanning the wide room, trying to spot a familiar face amongst the crowd and he soon did, steeling himself as he stood talk and strode forward. Stopping behind Jacob, Gabriel plastered on a casual smile, saying cheerily, "surprise, brother."
