Ever awoke that morning with a small yawn, rubbing at her bright blue eyes as she threw her legs over the side of her bed, having to slightly jump down from it as her height was still a bit of an inconvenience. She was slight and small, so it made flying especially easy but also meant that she had her issues with the furniture. She didn't mind though, she'd gotten used to it over the years and she'd just come to accept she'd never grow taller than her 4'8 height. It was a blessing, but also a curse.
Moving to her bay window in the small hut which were situated in the small Dragon keepers community she looked out, grinning at the sun which streamed through and warmed her face. Today was going to be a good day for flying, maybe she'd even be able to go for a fly with the dragon's today if she was able to get away with it. Ever moved back to her wardrobe and pulled on her usual working clothes of tight leather pants, minotaur hide boots, a loose white v-neck shirt and her utility belt with all her cleaning tools and treats, as it was primary her job to care and clean for her beloved dragons. She loved growing up on the reserve here, it was, well...amazing. There was no other words to describe it.
It was one of the reasons why Ever became a Dragon Keeper, having grown up around the beautiful, majestic creatures she knew how dangerous they could be, but also just how old and magnificent they were. She wasn't a tamer like her father though, no she just looked after them, but having spent her time here since childhood she'd come to know all the dragons and they accepted her, some she even liked to think they thought of her as their own. She played with their young, she helped them clean or feed the children, sometimes the older dragons even offer her some of their deer which was amusing, but Ever always declined politely. This was her life, and she absolutely loved it.
Stretching her arms high above her head she heard the pop of the joints as she let a sigh of relief slip through plump lips, quickly tying her hair back into a high ponytail, the thick red curls falling in waves down her back. Moving downstairs she set about to making breakfast, knowing her beloved father would be down anytime soon, they were always early risers on the reserve, as they were needing to get to work right away. Scraping the eggs and bacon out off the pan and onto the toast she quickly set about to cleaning the pan before calling out, "Breakfast is ready!"

Charlie felt the sun’s rays on his face from the window nearby, it wasn’t even over the horizon yet. He sigh, relaxing into the feeling of his bed. He would wake in a moment, but he didn’t need to be up for at least another hour. Charlie closed his eyes, not falling back asleep but not fully awakening either. You know that place between awake and asleep? Where you’re dreaming a dream you don’t want to wake up from, but can hear and understand all the sounds going on around you? That’s almost where Charlie was now.
He heard his daughter moving around down the stairs, grinning he knew he was going to get up here soon. She was definitely more of a morning person than her dad, she probably got it from Missy. Charlie sat up, not wanting to dwell on an ex-lover, while he didn’t really miss her…he still did. Looking out the window, he couldn’t wait to get out there and see his babes(dragons). They somehow seemed to surprise him every time they went about.
Breakfast is ready! Charlie could smell it from is room, he got dressed only to carry his belt down to the kitchen instead of wearing it. He normally didn’t wear it until the last minute down in the fields, avoiding the sniffing to get to the treats from the baby dragons. The older ones knew better now, but still even the younger dragons needed to be trained. Ever, she was a trainer, she was doing amazing, but that was probably because she love them so much.
Setting the belt on the chair next to him, “Good morning to you too.” He said messing with his teenager’s hair. This girl would train and ride dragon’s, but yet could give you a fashion show every day. He looked at her, “You are really ready to get out there. You only there yesterday.” Now, even Charlie wanted to get out there soon, and he had been doing this for years, before Ever was even born.

Ever hummed happily, this was the life. This was her dream, just living here, happy and forever free from society and it's conventions. No more unknown and unwanted people, no more fights (minus the dragons) and no more worries. She wasn't anything out here, she was just plain old Evergreen Weasley and this was her sanctum, amongst the dragons and the men she had come to call her family since childhood. Being amongst dragons, they were like her second family. She grew up without a mother so a lot of the dragons would do so instead, treating her like one of their hatchlings and tucking her under their wing or trying to feed her their food, it was adorably cute.
As her father came into the kitchen and gave him her usual bright smile, trying to dodge the hand that ruffled her hair but to no avail, tutting at him as she had to take out her hair, the locks springing free before she tried to pull it all up but it became tangled. So, giving up she just did a simple braid and threw it over her shoulder, sitting down opposite her father to eat. "Morning Daddy," she said, cutting into her eggs and bacon as she began to chomp away, eager to get back out into the fields.
At her father's words she just rolled her eyes, swallowing, "Of course I do, they'll miss me if I don't go and see them. Unlike you, they actually love me, they only put up with you cause you bring them fresh game to eat when they can't hunt." She took another bite off her fork, her legs swinging off the chair slightly, her happiness showing on her face with her smile. It was going to be a good day, she just knew it, she could feel it in the air. "Any jobs for today? Cause I know I need to go down and check the fence surrounding the Chinese Fireball section with Dave, but we can fix that up in an hour or so. So, think there'll be anything else to do because if not I want to go flying today."

Charlie just laughed digging into his own food, he did a metal checklist about what needed to be done. He honestly thought it was amazing how Ever could just be so eager to work every morning. He still looked at her like his little girl, he always would. But this little girl wanted to play with the dragons already, and didn't want to wait for her slow dad to get outside. "We should start separating the Catalonian Fireball dragons pretty soon, they aren't babies anymore and they should be away from their mother to be trained properly... We don't have to be do that today if you want to do flying. We can do that probably tomorrow, that's going to be full day's work."
The Catalonian Fireball's were just coming to 6 months, and they were getting more adventurous. The mother was still trying to baby her babies, so they weren't growing just right being so close together. They were going to need to be moved soon. Thinking he could probably get one of guys to help him move the dragons today, and let Ever take the day off if she wanted, but Charlie doubted Ever would let him do that anymore.
"When your getting the fence set up, I'm going to start putting the area for the Catalonian Fireball, so we'll have something to work with tomorrow. I'm not going to really need your help until tomorrow, so you can go flying if you want to. Take some of the babies with you, they might be more willing to get off the ground if there's something familiar in the air with them."

Ever loved her life, living out on the reserve with her family that she and her father had made, all the while doing what she loved. Not many people her age could say that they were doing what they loved, like she was. "Sounds good Daddy," Ever said as she took another mouthful of her breakfast, "we might have some trouble though, Sheila is too protective over her babies so we might have some trouble getting her to part with them. Especially after what happened last time..."
Sheila was one of the female dragons to have given birth in the past few years, as getting the dragons to mate was hard and when they did, they were over protective of the young. The babies grew at a rapid rate, but they were still needed to be by their mother's warmth to survive. "Tomorrow sounds good to me, I only have to go into the training fields for an hour or so with the team." Her father was right though, the dragons needed to be moved soon otherwise they'd end up with more injuries than needed be.
"Okay well I'll head out with Dave," Ever said as she finished up her meal, slipped off the chair to the floor and made her way over to the sink, rinsing her plate. Walking back to the table, Ever kissed her father gently on the cheek, ruffling the red locks, so much like her own. "I'll be off. I'll be home for lunch later."
Ever left their small house, walking across the camp to her colleagues house, knocking. "Dave? You ready to go?" she called, knocking again. "Yup, sorry babe, was...busy..." said a sweaty looking Dave, opening the door half naked. Ever could see underneath his arm the lady hiding beneath sheets in his bed, so merely blushed and looked away. "I'll be waiting out in field 12," she mumbled before she ran away as quickly as she could. Her cheeks were practically the same shade as her hair. How embarrassing.
Today was going to be a long day.
